Hogan Exteriors

We had a roof put on around 10-11 years ago. I thought roofs were supposed to be guaranteed for a long time. We have called 2-3 times in the last couple of weeks and left messages with a live person only to be told that someone will contact us. We want to give the benefit of the doubt, but NO ONE has contacted us back. So unprofessional!!

I have recommended Hogan to neighbors and friends. Everything went very well and very smooth. At no time did I feel rushed when trying to pick the exact color of siding I wanted. I was given samples of different sidings and roofs. They were willing to work with me on the decorative trim and keystones I wanted around the windows and garage door. I did have 3 other companies give me estimates on the work. I also had 2 other estimates on the windows. Not only did Hogan Exteriors come in with the best prices and materials, they were definitely someone I could work with.

My roof was damaged in April, 2014 by hail. Initially several contractors, that were not local, were canvassing the neighborhood and provided me with estimates. Once the estimates were given they became very pushy asking for my business. I decided to get one more estimate from Hogan Exteriors, which was local in Crystal Lake. The estimator came out within a couple of days and was very thorough and courteous. He showed me all the problems with the roof and pointed out damage that I also had to the gutters. Within a day he provided me with an estimate and samples of various shingles that I could chose from.  He left his card and understood I had other estimates to choose from and told me if I preferred Hogan Exteriors to give him a call. He was not pushy at all.  The estimate I received I felt was fair and comparable to the others I received since it also included replacement of the gutters. I turned the estimate in to my insurance agent. They had an adjuster come out and accepted the entire claim except for a $ 500 deductible.

Hogan's installation crew came out two weeks later and in one day replaced the shingles on the roof and the next day replaced the gutters around the entire house. I was very pleased with the installation. The installation crew was very thorough and they made sure to sweep and clean up any nails that may have been left from the tear down of the old roof and installation of the new. They also repainted the stack coming from my furnace to match the color of the new roof. I have always had a problem with my old gutters draining correctly and I have had no draining issues with the new gutters.  

I have had the new shingles and gutters on now for about a year and a half and have had no problems at all.

Hogan offered high quality asphalt shingle options for a very competitive price. Scheduled the work within the timeframe I needed the roof replaced. Helped acquiring the permit from the village and had a very efficient team of workers replace the roof. The job was well done and in a timely manner. The post job follow-up was good. Roger Curtis from Hogan was very honest and provided all the details I needed.

Very quick and efficient, crew stayed late until dark to get work done. Excellent clean up. Also had a window up on a gable needed some scraping and touch up paint which they did happily.

Mark kept me informed about when they would be able to start and how long it would take. The crew was very polite and professional. They were as careful as they could be with the landscaping. The work site was secured when they left for the day, and was very clean when they were done. Their prices were very comparable to the other estimates I received.

Hogan Roofing did an outstanding job! Roger's follow up was great on the estimate and timeline for installation. The installers did a great job installing and cleaning up after the job. I would highly recommend!

They guys were very professional and nice. I was very happy with his proposal. The work was done well. I don't have any complains at all.

We found shingles in our yard after a bad windstorm on 11/17/2013. We called Hogan on Friday 11/22/13 to come out to inspect our roof. They arrived that same afternoon. The missing shingles were not from our roof. They found no damage on it but said that they could tell that one of our neighbors had missing shingles on their roof. All they asked was that we tell our neighbor and mention their name. Wonderful prompt service and very professional. We would definitely call them in the future should we need roofing or siding.

We had been referred to this company by a relative who's friend is a builder and said he always uses this company. The village where we live knew him well as he has done a lot of work in our area. Mr. Hogan was a breath of fresh air after our interview with another company. There was no pressure at all to sign a contract on the spot. He gave us as much time as we needed to make decisions. The contract was very specific about the exact work to be done and the cost. Mr. Hogan was very professional, warm and personable. His office is local and customers are welcome to drop by.
The work was completed exactly when promised and was completed in a professional manner. This is not a fly-by-night company. They know what they are doing. Mr. Hogan came to the property several times during the install to make sure that everything was being done correctly by his crew. These were his people, not a random group he found. He treated his workers with respect, just like his customers. They did a great job at clean up too. I would definitely recommend this company.

A large crew arrived at about 8 am. They did a tear-off, replaced some bad wood on the roof and some facia, installed a new chimney and a couple pieces of siding, installed new shingles and cleaned up and were gone at around 5 pm.
The salesman came out while they were working and answered some questions i had on some changes i wanted done differently from the original roof and had the crew take care of my concerns.
All the work was completed in a professional manner and cleaned up completely, other than seeing the new roof you would never now they were there.
The only negative thing i can say is i originally called for a quote in the spring and never heard back from them. But i wanted another quote so i called them back in Nov. and they were out the next morning. I don't no what happened the first time i called but i am satisfied with the work and the quote (was right there with others) and would recommend this company based on this job.

Initial contact was slow. Once the style and color was selected the job was finished quickly. And as promised.
We are very pleased with the installation, attention to small details, finish work, and clean up.


This is the second job the company has done for us.
Four years ago they put a new roof on this house and that project was also well done, on time and on estimate.

The name has changed. They are now HOGAN EXTERIORS. Same address, phone, and email.

It was actually a reference from a friend. It was a complete tear off and they did a pretty good job. They were quick and they cleaned up after themselves. Sometimes they did take a little bit of time before we heard back from them when we were trying to schedule. Once they did come back, they did what they said they were going to do at the same time that they said.

It went very well. They were right in line with other quotes - not the lowest or the highest. Clean, preofessional, and on time. I waited a year to write this review to see if I had any problems. None at all. I would definately recommend. I hired them based on recommendation from a friend that had used them and I am glad a did. They even gave advice on shingle color as sometimes it

They seemed to understand my needs best and the pricing was competitive. When, I start the project this is the company I am wanting to hire.

They were on time and professional. Their work was immaculate. They were polite and cleaned up after themselves. In particular, Joe was quite the gentleman. He was absolutely fantastic and laid back. I really trusted him. I believe that his concern was the quality of workmanship rather than the paycheck at the end of the day. I would give him an A+ for services. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

I purchased a commercial property 13 years ago. Through-out the thirteen years, every year we have leaks in our brand new roof. Every year it is difficult to get Hogan to respond to any service request. When they do, it is, "I forgot a ladder" or "no show" or "it is difficult to find where it is coming from" NO ACTION, and all kinds of reflection. After 13 years of this, I conceited and stopped calling them. I come into the office today 6-25-11 and find ceiling tiles destroyed and cabinets damaged due to water.

Went very. Used this company twice and each time we were pleased. Also performed work for neighbors.
