It started with a card left at my house after a large hailstorm in April of 2023 with David Hernandez’s name & number on it. I meet with David and he assessed the damage and worked directly with my insurance company (Hanover). My insurance company approved almost everything right away except for the siding. They only wanted to pay for partial replacement of two elevations, one on my garage & one on my house. However, David fought and jumped thru hoops in hopes for the insurance company to pay for at least two whole elevations. David worked hard and not only did he get the two elevations covered, but since he proved my siding did not exist anymore, Hanover paid for the siding on all elevations of both house and garage. Thank you David and Expert Roofing for such a great job.

Roofing project started early July of 2022 with major craftsmanship errors to include bending chimney Flashing with a 2x4 stud not a brake, it looked terrible. They said they would be back the next week to finish but nobody showed up. I called my sales man for a month and no answer. After 1 1/2 months I called the office and they said they we be out the next week, nobody showed. I final told them I was going to fire them and they should up in 1 week. They started on the soffits and facia while I was out of town in early November . When I return home and saw what looked like very inexperienced people performed the work. I called again and said that the job looks terrible and they said they would send a project manager out to assess. He showed up a couple of days later and I told them about the flashing on chimneys were bent with a 2×4 stud and was going to leak. The soffits also looked horrible. The crew leader was surprised and discussed with the craftsmanship and said that they would replace soffits, facia and flashing. He did say they sent a crew out that is not experienced in soffit and fascia and that they would send an experienced crew out to repair all of it. They did show up in Mid November and the fascia and soffits looked better but not to quality standards. I asked them about the repair of the flashing and other shingling errors and gutters and they said they would be out soon to fix. They did say that they were extremely busy, that was because they are storm chasers. My gutters were finally installed in mid December after icicles hanging after winter storms. The chimney flashing also failed because of bending the metal with a 2 x 4 wood stud (WHO WOULD DO THIS?). I had major leaking in my kitchen and living room. The also removed my old skylights and left a live electrical wire in between the roof sheathing and drywall which is a major fire hazard. The told me that they are electrician and would never touch electrical but for some reason they unhooked my old skylights, wouldn't this also need an electrician to do. My salesperson told me that I would have to tear the drywall down to hook them up, I said that was stupid. When I called them to come out to do repairs they saw the damaged drywall they went on the roof and then said nothing was wrong and they were not got to touch it. I went on the roof to look and they added more sloppy caulk to the flashing. I called my insurance company and told him what they said and he said go hire someone to fix it. I did hire someone to fix the flashing and shingling errors and they said the flashing groves were not cleaned out and should have had a to grove cut so it seated properly. They also said that the ice and weather shield was not properly installed and was all wet with rotten sheathing and they used roofing nails on the flashing to attach to the block chimney. The cost to repair the flashing and the other errors was $10,439.06. I am also in the process of hiring a drywall company to repair kitchen and clean any mold if present. I emailed expert roofing the repair costs and I just got a bill today says that I am late on my final bill. Please be careful who you hire to do your roof!! Check out all the photos and please tell you family and friends about my roofing project.

Before contracting with Expert Roofing, home owners should be informed about what they may be getting themselves into. I can’t claim to know this is how every one of their jobs goes, but in my personal experience, I found Expert to be exceptional at all initial contact and communication, getting my insurance to pay in full for the re-roofing project, putting on a new roof looks excellent from afar, and avoiding adequately correcting the multiple installation errors they made. Although the roof looked shiny and new from the ground, when I got up on the roof myself to see their work after they completed, I found numerous mistakes. There were shortcuts and workmanship errors in just about every aspect of their work: the flashing, gutter apron, fascia, torn shingles, and missing ice and water shield around vents. These are things most homeowners are not getting up on their roof to see nor would they know what to look for - but these mistakes increase the likelihood of leaks and future damages. I asked about these issues right away, but was told quality control would be out to inspect it. A month later my roof leaked. They finally came out and attempted a quick fix, but the roof leaked several more times. It was extremely challenging getting them to schedule to come out for repairs and when they did, they never fully addressed the workmanship issues. About 5 months in, when they insisted they had fixed everything I contacted one of their materials representatives who agreed to inspect their work and pointed out that they had skipped 3 different steps. After nearly a full year of trying to work with them to complete the job, they stopped replying to me and failed to follow through on anything they said they would do. After a full year of no contact from anyone at Expert, they sent me a request for full final payment. I was advised by an attorney that it would cost nearly half that amount in legal fees just to challenge them, and that these fees could not be recovered even with a verdict against the roofing company. Don’t blindly trust their assertions that the job was done right. Inspect their work yourself or get a 3rd party who knows what to look for. Know that you have very limited legal recourse to hold them accountable if they do not live up to their promises.

David Hernandez was great! He assessed the damage on my roof and was able to work with my insurance to get a new roof for me. He got it done quick too. I would recommend him and his company to anyone again.

Vendor quoted a price. State Farm insurance paid them directly, in full. They completed the work on the small barn. Then they told me the materials they had included for the large barn were wrong, and they had to use more expensive materials. They said they were going back to the insurance company to get more money. They never gave me any other options, and now, several months later, they still have not done the work. Now they're not even returning my calls.
Response from Expert Roofing
"We have reached out to this homeowner numerous times. Yes, we do work with their insurance companies to get items paid for, but we do not read their policies. This homeowner does not have code coverage on their policy, which makes it impossible for us to do additional work without the homeowner paying for the additional costs. We have explained this to the customer numerous times, and he feels that we should "cover" all additional costs so it will not affect his pocket book. We have reached out to this homeowner numerous times, and he is not happy with what we are stating. At this time, we have done all the work, as well as additional items (plywood on the stable roof) which were not covered by the insurance company - and he still wants us to cover all additional costs. We have done all that we can. If the homeowner is unhappy about his policy and the coverage, he would need to contact his agent and change his policy. Payment is due and the h/o is refusing to pay."

Where to start... First off, I very seldomly write reviews, but I felt that this/my experience was needing to be shared. We worked directly with Dave Camp through the entire life cycle of the project. We first reached out to Dave, thinking that we had some hail/wind damage to the roof from a storm that had rolled through the area. He came out and found multiple areas around the house with hail and storm damage. We filed a claim with our insurance company online and then Dave met with the insurance adjuster a few days after. After insurance had decided to accept the claim (to replace the siding and roof), Dave then helped get his crews scheduled to get the work done ASAP. The roof was the first to get replaced, and the entire project went smoothly and never hit a hiccup. The crew was very professional and courteous of my home and property. The same can be said about the siding, which was AMAZING to come home to. I'd recommend Expert Roofing to anyone looking to get repairs done to their home or business, or just looking to update said home/business. No more ugly 1970's baby poop siding for me!

So far, they have been fantastic. The job is 60% done. They show up on time every morning and work until dark. Each night, they clean the entire area and store all of their materials and any house protection, etc. I don't think I'm qualified to speak to the quality of the materials, but, the packages say "Grade A" and they seem high quality. I would definitely recommend them.

In 2008 we had a complete roof repair from Expert Roofing due to hail damage.  move ahead to 2017 in April we noticed a drip and drywall tape pulling away from our ceiling.  Calling Expert Roofing again since they did the initial work.  The representative came out and stated that the shingle failed and that wind has damaged a section of the roof.  He placed a tarp and stated he would be back once we had insurance claim filed.  We called him back and to date (4 months later) he refuses to return the call.  We have been forced to call in another company.  The GAF shingle failed due to improper installation in 2008.  The company only Warranties their work for 7 years.

They were good! I have no idea on the cost, they kept going back and forth with the insurance company, obtaining more money. Everything was good so far. They were pricey, but they were prompt, efficient, good, nothing is falling apart and everything looks great. I never came in contact with the workers, they always did the work when I wasn’t here. The work took from start to finish about 3 weeks because of going back and forth with the insurance company.

Roof Replacement completed satisfactorily.
Supervisor wasn't onsite for inspection.  They needed to cover the roof with tarps and wait until the next day to complete the job.

They were fine. We had a nice experience with them. I liked them because they were able to help convince my insurance company to pay for my roof. They were a good representative for us, to explain to the insurance company what was going on and to get it paid for by them. They were busy because there were storms around here, so they took awhile to get out. I also thought just one group was coming out, but they actually sent out three different groups of people. That was fine though. I was actually fine with all of them. That's okay, I just didn't understand it at first. They did a beautiful job. They did a phenomenal job. They were clean and you couldn't even tell my roof had been worked on.

They came on time and did the entire job in one day. They found quite a few of the plywood sheeting underneath the roof that was defective. They left the skylights as better condition than they were before. They cleaned up very well afterwards. They were very cooperative. I am more than pleased with them. They are reliable. They will work with the customer and they will also work with the insurance company. They are patient about waiting for the insurance payment to come in. Everything worked out well.

I had roof damage from the storms in early July. Expert Roofing, who did work at one of my neighbors 4 years ago, came out and assessed the damages. Expert met on-site with my insurance adjuster and made sure that everything they recommended being replaced was agreed upon by the adjuster. There were no issues getting Mike from Expert and the adjuster on the same page. It took some time for me to get the information through to my insurance company and to get the check, but once I had it Expert scheduled to replace my roof within 2 weeks. They did the job on a Tuesday and completed it the following morning. They cleaned the job site at the end of each day, leaving no roofing nails or other hazards. Even my dog got along with the crew. The only thing I would change would be to have them put boards or boxes over my bushes that were near the house instead of just tarps. I had a few small rose bushes broken and some annual flowers smooshed.
The roof looks great. I would recommend them to anyone. Mike and company were very responsive when I had questions. He came out to meet with me several times and to check on the job. A great experience.
