We were also more than willing to work with Bobby in repairing this motor although the damage was clearly self inflicted and that this motor was on its second season. The damage did not happen right out of the gate or break. Harley-Davidson is a multimillion dollar corporation and they only offer a 12 month warranty on their engines. Bikers PHD is a small mom-and-pop operation and was more than willing to work with Bobby on getting his motor back together and running. Now let’s talk about your comment on cases, whether we should have used his original cases or aftermarket cases. Your friend, our customer, did not want to use aftermarket cases. We have performed the same machine work to hundreds of stock cases and aftermarket cases over the years with great results. Bikers PHD is a full machine shop service. Not only do we provide service for our customers but we do work for other shop throughout the US. Moving on to the “BOLT” comment, as most mechanically inclined people know, there is no physical way that the bolt could have been installed backwards, upside down. It will only go in one way and must be torque before the piston and cylinders can be installed on the engine. Once it is installed there is no way for it to move, turn, twist without someone deliberately putting a wrench on it and forcing it to turn which is what damaged his cylinders and pistons. This would have happened whether you used stock cases or aftermarket cases."
