TruGreen Lawn Care - 5805

I'm going to try and remain as objective as possible in this review, but do yourself a favor and DO NOT hire TruGreen. After several years with a local lawn care company, I was enticed to switch over to TruGreen given the number of promotions being offered. I had used TruGreen at another residence and was not happy, but it was over a decade ago, and I thought it couldn't hurt to give them a second chance. I was dead wrong. First, the actual service constantly would get rescheduled, and when someone did actually come out to treat the lawn, they would be here for no more than 10 minutes. I can verify that given that I work remotely and know exactly when they arrive compliments of our family dog's barking notification. The robotic service was evident in the worsening condition of the lawn. And while it could be dependent on things I did wrong in my upkeep, I'm aware of what length to mow the lawn and do have an automated sprinkler system to make sure it receives enough water. During rainy periods, I turn that off as to not overwater. The condition of the lawn was the worst I've ever seen in every facet from weeds to spotting to the overall color of the lawn. Next, the customer service element appears friendly and available, but does not actually solve any problems. I simply tried to cancel my service. If TruGreen hired as many service people as they do sales people, they may actually have a chance. I was getting calls around the clock from individuals trying to restore service and harass me about the condition of my surrounding trees and bushes to upsell even more services. How about you focus on what you were hired to do, and do that well, before you push yourselves for more revenue? Customer service's solution was to send someone out to do an "analysis." This is code for "we're restoring your services without your permission" as if they "saved" the account. The analysis revealed nothing despite the feedback, and there was no willingness to explain the findings, just that this step was completed. I finally had enough and canceled all services plus pushed to be removed from all sales lists. This is a joke of a company that has no desire to provide anyone with good lawn care services. This is a greedy, revenue first, sales staff over service team members focused organization. If I could give a negative rating, I would, but here we are.

The first treatment needed to be redone. I had more weeds after service was performed.

I would definitely highly recommend them. They are the number one lawn care provider for grass in our whole subdivision. They don't do our yard and lawn work. They come out every other month. They come out about 6-7 times a year. We had some weeds pop up. If you call and say you have weeds, they are out in 2-3 days. We pay the year upfront. They give you a discount upfront. They are a company that I trust. They have been doing our lawn, this is the second year. Our lawn has gone from 60% weeds to actually looking like a lawn. The thing I like about them most is they have outstanding customer service. You call and talk to a person. They listen to what your issue is. They come up with a solution. If they can't or you are unhappy or anything, a person comes out and says let me take a look. We will discuss it and figure it out. Maybe we are not doing something right. It is a dialogue. The number one thing they do best that other companies and I think it is the new business model for a lot of companies is when they call and they don't get you, the actually leave a message. A voicemail message or they send you an email or text. This is our company, this is why we are contacting you. This is the number you can reach us back at. Do you know how many companies I have contacted for services or tried to get services or had to cancel and tried to reschedule and I get 15 different phone calls from various parts of the country because they are using call centers nowadays. I have no idea who is calling, what they are calling about. They say, we have been trying to get a hold of you. I like to deal with local companies. I like to make sure my local companies stay in business because that helps our community. Their price is competitive with everyone else.

I have been using them since last year and they always do an excellent job. The technicians are always very friendly and arrive on time. Also, the fertilizer/spray that they use aren't harmful to my dog. I would recommend them to anyone.

I felt that they were responsible for a lot of my shrubs and trees getting sick and dying. They never owned up to it. I would never bring them back and I would not recommend them to anyone. I asked them to stop the treatment because I couldn't find out what they were using. They sent me some materials but the things they sent me would not have done to the shrubs what happened to them . I had some encounters with some of their management team and I was just very displeased with them. I had been using them for five years for another property and I started using them for my new property. I allowed them to do the trees and shrubs and that's when the problem started. At the other property, they only did the grass and it was okay.

This year's service was much better than last year's. We are notified by phone when to expect the services and receive a follow-up email afterwards to confirm the service. The technicians offer suggestions regarding when and how to mow the lawn, and also watering.

I was very disatisfied. I have one tree that began suffering and has turned brown. I have not gotten a satisfactory answer about why, and the tree was healthy when they started the preventative treatments. Now it's brown and it looks like it's going to need to be removed. I have discussed it with them, but I wouldn't use them again.

They do lawn, tree and shrub chemical treatments for me. Initially, they call you before they come for a service. This last year, the phone calls haven't come in, so when they come in to service the lawn, they do hang a little door hanger. They do put the little signs in the yard, but they don't take the old signs out, so you have to collect all your signs to know they have been there. But that caused a problem, because they automatically debit my account. And that caused me to have to check to see what they were doing. So I called them to straighten it out, but they haven't done what they said they would. I called them to come out because the stuff that they're using is killing my trees, and they promised to send somebody out, but they haven't come out. In the past, I was happy with them, but I'm not happy with them right now.

Generally, they are pretty easy to work with.  The results have been pretty good.  I've worked with them in the past and the office close to here seem to do a pretty good job treating the lawn.  I've used them at other locations where I felt that they did a quick job and didn't get the coverage that you would normally want.  But, at this location they tend to treat it well and sufficiently.  It may be a little high on the cost size but it's more convenient than doing it yourself.

The work was good; but their billing was atrocious. They had a collection agency that they own and they kept sending me letters. I didn't know where the letters were coming from; so I had to call the collection agency. They finally pump at their own buy, Tru green, which was ridiculous. The work was good which I admit and bushes did grow well. The blushes had been lush and green. The billing was atrocious. The price wasn't bad and nothing was bad about them; except for how they handled the billing. If I didn't pay them within 30 days and I forget anyways; so then I got this letter and I got to call them. I already paid the money; but I kept getting the letter.

They were there on a timely basis and did a really good job. Our grass was green all summer and we had no weeds!

They do a nice job, but they have a difficult time adhering to rearranged contractual times. I give them a list of how many times I want them to come and not to bother me beyond that. They do that and then the phone rings at least once a week with them calling wanting to do more things. When I contract with somebody I know what I want and I understand how sales work, but after I say no a couple of times, that is what it means. My only complaint is that they tend to be a little pushy. They are more punctual than I want them to be. I plan to keep using them.

I chose them because my neighbor uses them, and also because their price is reasonable. Their national number doesn?t give you the best rates, and so you have to call your local service for that. They are really good and I would rate them highly.

We canceled the service last spring and had it reinstated 2 months later because they mailed us a special deal so we thought we would give them another try. By the end of the season, we had more weeds in the lawn then we had at the beginning of the year. This was more weeds than we had ever had. They said they would come out and do red crab treatment, which was spotty at best. I ended up canceling the service with them and they tried bullying me into keeping it.

The man we spoke with said that he would come out to our home and take a look at our lawn and then he would leave us an estimate. Well he came and went very quickly without leaving any estimates and once he finally did get to the actual work they ended up ruining my lawn. We had spots in our lawn that we didnt know whether or not they were weeds or grass and he would not give us a straight answer. After we addressed the problem he tried to kill it with chemicals and he ended up just ruining our lawn and then he told us that we would have to dig up the lawn and re-seed it ourselves. We fired them and we will not be using them again.

Not sure if they even sprayed the area I wanted taken care of as I never talked with anyone from this company face to face. I got a bill that they were by, but I still had some spider mites on my Evergreens. I called and canceled at the end of the summer 2007. I received several phone calls from them regularly asking if I wanted to renew service with them. The phone calls bordered between rude and criminal. After repeatedly telling them to quit calling, I was was forced to get the BBB involved. Once the BBB was involved, the harassing phone calls stopped. The owner did apologize. In actuality, I better luck with the spider mites when I took care of it on my own with the proper spray from a hardware store and a lawn sprayer.

My gate is padlocked, so there is no way they could have gotten in to spray, but they said they did. I followed all of the directions they gave me, and my yard still looks terrible. They don't tell you when they're coming, they just kind of show up. Their customer service was very empathetic, but even their management was not good. I had to continually call them to get someone to call me back. When the gentleman came out, he basically told me that I needed to start over from the beginning with the yard. Price shown is to fertilize my yard each time.

I have annual lawn care with them, and they come in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. I like their services. I have less weeds than I did before, and I feel like I'm getting good service for the pricing.
