Blands Plumbing Sewer & Water

We had used Blands in October to clean the sewer line from the house to the main.  They were fast and courteous and reasonable ($150).  Stu is quiet, polite and extremely competent.  Unfortunately, after a heavy deluge the sewer backed up and spilled over the vent by the main sewer line (we live in a 100 year-old home) in January.  We called Blands, who responded immediately, re-roted the line, ran a camera down the line, found the problem, gave us a bid for everything and returned as soon as the weather permitted (within a week or so) to dig up the portion of the line affected and replace it, adding a back flow preventer to the new vent they installed.  They were done within 4 hours and on their way and we were thrilled.


Bill and Stu were great to work with and have become our "sewer guys"!

Blands was excellent! They showed up on time, and they quickly got to work. The two men were professional yet personable. Impressed with the price. I had a service similar to this before and it was almost twice as much! ($200 difference in price 2.5 years ago from another company and the quality of toilet was not as good as Blands) I would highly recommend them!!

They were excellent. They were professional. I had a problem after they left and they came right away. I told them I had a leak after they left and they came right the next day and the price was good.

They are very good about cleaning up, polite, and likable.

Everything went well. The provider took time to explain everything he was doing. I would call again if I need A/C service.

It went well, we liked the bid and planned to have them do the project, which is extremely involved.  I called a few times and left messages but they never called back.  It is now a few months later and I called to schedule the work.  They have now informed that I am to far from them and they are to busy.  I just want them to honor their agreement and do the work.

Everything went well.  Plumber showed up on time, did a great job, and was very efficient in completing work.  Price was very fair.  I definetely would use them again and highly recommend them for any plumbing work.

He arrived punctuallly on both trips.  He surveyed the job andreturned a week or so later to do the work.  He installed a "T" off the water heater feed in the basement, through a flexible hose to a nearby wall, turned one corner, and went through the wall where he installed a shutoff valve just on the other side so I could connect a vent free heater.







I wasn't there the day he did the work, so I don't know how much time it took, but the work looked great and met our needs. 







I did have sticker shock when my wife told me we had to pay $400 above the $59 credit that came with the deal.  This was a farily simple installation (no obstacles between the Water Heater gas line and the wall he went through).  Perhaps it's naive, but it left me wishing I had at least looked into doing it myself.  The gas shutoff was nearby and I would have only needed to purge a couple feet of pipe, then bubble test it after installing the new connections).

They did an excellent job for a fair price with the Big Deal they provided, and were willing to travel quite a distance. It did take several weeks to get them scheduled, which may have been due to some miscommunications with the Big Deal process (Responsiveness "C") but the job was not an emergency so that was OK.

He didn't seem to have a plan that matched what the deal stated. He actually didn't seem to know what was expected of him as stated in the deal. He came in and asked what problems were we having which didn't have much to do with the list of things he was suppose to do according to the stated list on the deal page. I realized after he had left that he didn't check my washing machine hoses which was listed on the deal sheet and was something I was very interested in having done  because the hoses have not been changed in 7 1/2 years.
He was very friendly and talked freely about various plumbing concepts. We did bring up a couple of issues we were having and he did gives us options for future projects. He did mention that we would get a discount on any needs we would have done the line due to buying this deal. He was a very nice person but since he didn't actually do any "plumbing" stuff it is impossible to review him or the work of Bland's Plumbing company. I would call them again if we decided to pursue one the the projects we discussed.

The trip went beyond the ordinary visit.The worker arrived on time and promptly went to work.  He explained all of the problems and preceeded to made the necessary repairs.
I am very very happy that I chose Blands for my plumbing needs and I will promptly call on this company for future plumbing work at my home as well as recommend them to others.

The call was to unclog an extremely slow drain in the tub.  After working on the pipe for some time,  TJ from Blands said the pipes to the sewer needed to be replaced.  In the basement the original drain for the bathtub and toliet looked like something from Fibber McGee's closet.  In order to bring the entire area up to code it was suggested the drain pipes for both the tub and toliet be replaced.  IT is now a thing of beauty, they also put in a thingee so if I need to replace the pipes in the sink the fitting is already there.  They did a great job and totally cleaned up after themselves.  I am very pleased with the work and have already recommended them to a friend. Also, I got a 10% new customer discount!

The kitchen sink in the home we are rehabbing was clogged and despite our best efforts with a rented snake, we couldn't get it cleared.  We contacted Bland's on Tuesday and they were able to fit us in on Wednesday. They were efficient and helpful during the scheduling and the techician that came to the house was knowledgeable and thorough. We are very pleased with their service and the fee was unexpectedly reasonable. I highly recommend Bland's. They are now our go-to company for sewer and drain service!

This had to be one of the best plumbing experiences I ever had.  I had a toilet that always ran.  I had replaced the flapper myself before and it worked for a while but started right backup.  I thought I needed to replace all the guts in the tank to get it to operate.  The plumber that arrived looked at it and quickly saw the issue.  He pointed out why the replacement flapper did not work and said it was so little work there would be no additional labor for fixing it.
I also had a leaking kitchen sink...I had put off fixing it for sometime so that became even more of a challenge because it rusted the unit.  They had to cut it off and needed a new ring so they had to return the next day.  They did and was able to get the unit off.  After cleaning the unit up we found that another part of the unit was worn too and was a part just for that model.  They offered to order the part or if I wanted they would just replace the unit with a new one.  I went with the later.  The new unit is a bit smaller so the pipes under the sink also had to be modified which they did.
After everything was done I thought the amount of work that was done was well worth the price.  I had used one of Angie's list big deals which did save me a good size amount but over all I can not complain one bit.  The plumber that arrived was very nice and easy to talk to with a great attitude.  I highly recommend them for any work you may need.

There was no existing plumbing to install the toilet, and I had no idea of how to go about getting this done.  Bill Ayres came out and, after inspecting my basement, was able to give me several options.  Bill is very personable and he answered all my questions.  He assured me that removing the concrete in the basement floor to tap into the sewer line was the best way to go, and he was absolutely correct.  It  is obvious Bill and the crew at Blands really know their stuff.
The crew arrived on a Monday morning and by that afternoon had removed the concrete, attached the necessary plumbing, and poured new concrete to patch the floor.  Two days later, after the concrete was dry, they finished installing my new super flush toilet!  The crew was professional and considerate and cleaned up after themselves. 
Blands repaired some bathroom plumbing for me about 4 years ago, and they were just as nice then.  I feel their prices are reasonable and I would definitely hire them again!

The work went very well.  There was a mix up due to me not being clear to the answering service.  I didn't know that I wasn't talking to someone who wasn't with the company.  As I said, I take the blame.  They corrected the mix up and were prompt and professional.

Great experience.I called Bland's at 9:00 am after discovering water around the base of my hot water heater.  Service tech arrived at my house at 1:00pm and we decided it was time to replace 10 year old water heater.  He called the office and they sent a new hot water heater within the hour.  My new water heater was in and everything cleaned up by 3:30 - 4:00.The service person then gave me tips on vacuuming filter at base of heater and how to annually drain water and sediment, both of which would prolong life of my hot water heater.
Price was very reasonable to begin with and then they gave me the Angie's list 10% off on top of that.
I would highly recommend.  They are prompt, professional, courteous, reasonably priced and clean up afterwards.

The technician came by, checked out the problem, explained in detail what he would do and the cost.We set an appointment for the next day.  I had overlooked an appointment I had and called the technician, he said no problem, and we rescheduled for the day after.  He was there on t ime and did a very professional job.  He even gave me a senior discount of 10%.  Needless to say I will call Bland's if I ever need a plumber again.

.The job was to big for them to do and they never should have been called out but that was handled by the insurance company. I would not use them if I need this kind of service again.
