Welding
Once I realized that the clunking noise coming from the front of my car was a broken sway bar, I called several shops for quotes and Southwick Machine & Design were the cheapest option and they were able to get the job done the day I called. After they looked at the problem, they suggested repairing the sway bar by welding it back together instead of trying to sell me a new sway bar assembly. They also suggested that I replace the front struts, which were (on my own assessment) shot.
I'm usually suspicious of auto-repair places since it seems that most of them take advantage of the customers' ignorance. However, the Southwicks were friendly, honest, and forthcoming with what they thought needed to be done. They allowed me to see what they were doing while diagnosing the problem. I never once felt taken advantage of.
