SECOND LOOK HOME INSPECTIONS

Do not use this provider. The inspector did not go on the roof until I pointed out defects in the roof. He then went on the roof and after I went on the roof also and pointed out the bad sheathing he agreed and then put it in his report. He claimed the roof would be good for another 5 years plus or minus with normal weathering. I was hoping to get a more specific answer as to how much longer the roof would last. Actually the roof is leaking now and in the process of replacing the roof we discovered it was leaking in several other places with badly rotten sheathing underneath. Also he did not indicate any problems with the windows. After my inspection, in showing him some very rotten window sash, he said he only inspects one window per room and there are only two windows in that room. Upon further inspection, we discovered 6 windows were also very rotten and needed to be replaced right away. We discovered receptacles that do not work and again he said that he does not check all the receptacles. The water supply to the house is coming through the foundation. When it rains for a day it leaks around the pipe to our foundation. He failed to point this out during his inspection. He did point out one problem which was another leak where a pipe comes through. This would seem insignificant compared to what he didn't notice. He failed to indicate the two drains for the front downspouts were completely clogged. The downspouts drain to a drainage system underground and being clogged this was leaking directly onto our foundation.
