The 1st job we had for him was tuck pointing our facade.  He was not cheap, but the work was done professionally, in time and the quality was great.  6 month later he called me out of the blue, to tell me he drove around our place and he noticed some with spots on the brick, and that he would like to come by and fix it.  It sounds like un-requested quality assurance.  Mr Yamane is doing wonderfully here. The 2nd job was changing 27 windows, not only we got estimates on different prices/qualities but he also advised us in to not get the most expensive ones since we are not sure on staying in this building as sour primary residence, he told us how this windows will perform in the next 10 years. The price and quality has been better than expected.  When we changed the windows we timed it to not be occupying the unit (lead issues) and Mr Yamane took care of everything, supervised daily the advance of the work, and would call with updates.

I wanted to update my bathroom and have been working with Jeff for years, so there was no question as to who would do the job.  He is so dependable -- always does what he says he'll do when he says he will do it and for the price quoted. His crew is careful, respectful and conscientious.  The result was beautiful.  I would never consider using another contractor!

They are professional. They are very on top of getting the jobs done when they said they would.

Jeff Yamane was outstanding.  Throughout the project, he was at our home at least once each day for whatever time it took to answer our questions and to ensure the workers were applying the chemical at the correct rate of coverage.  Yamane development was the only company who directed us to a chemical process that ensured our home would be adequately protected from the harsh Chicago elements.  He recommended Professional Water Sealer (PWS) made in Kansas.  I spoke with the owners and engineers at PWS and was impressed with the difference in their product and others on the market who claim to protect for 10 years.

Jeff worked with PWS to ensure we meet their warranty requirements.  Jeff''s workers were experience and competent.   We found Jeff to a very knowledgeable general contractor and plan to use his expertise on future projects at our home.

It went fantastically, I wanted an insulated door, but wasn't too picky about style. Jeff suggested that I get a door with a small window at the top because the back stairway is so poorly lit. This was a great suggestion -- it would have been way too dark back there without that additional light. And was done on the very same day! He really saved the day for me. Jeff is so professional and accountable. He is responsive and always does what he says he's going to. The guys were wonderful and cleaned the space up beautifully.

I needed to take care of my chimney problems before the cold weather set in so I called Yamane Development. Since I had this company do work for me before, I felt fully confident in hiring them again for this job. Also, what was so convenient was that Mr. Yamane did not require a deposit from me first. He actually picked up the bricks he needed for the rebuild BEFORE starting the job, which was completed in record time and way above my knit-picky standards. I also would like to say that Jeff and all of his workers and/or sub-contractors are always meticulous about keeping all areas neat and clean. I have never had to worry about cleaning up after them which is a blessing with my busy schedule. I would highly recommend Yamane Development for ANY kind of general contracting work. I would welcome a rating of A++ so that this company would start out on Angie’s List first.

I tend to find all of my service providers on Angie's List, and as a result, I rarely have a bad experience. For this reason, my reviews tend to be positive. This is the first time that I wish Angie's List had some sort of "A+" category, so that I had a way to set Yamane's team in a category by themselves. Once I understood the magnitude of the demolition and repair work that would be required on this job, I was extremely worried about finding a general contractor who was both competent and ethical. I'm happy to say that Yamane and his team exceeded my expectations in absolutely every respect. First, Yamane's work is simply outstanding, and well beyond professional and competent. Yamane's self-imposed standard of excellence and meticulous attention to detail renders his work extraordinary. Our finished shower is not only functional, but also beautiful. Given the constraints of space and layout within which Yamane was working, this is no small achievement. I have never experienced a professional who was in such consistent contact with us as was Yamane. I heard from him 3 to 4 times per day, and I was informed of all problems or obstacles as soon as they arose. Yamane was extremely communicative, and his work was all transparent - he was completely open about costs and labor, and we felt fully apprised of all details of the job. Yamane went out of his way to save us money, to give us extraordinary craftsmanship at a reasonable price, and to deliver his product within the limitations imposed by the existing bathroom layout. His team was punctual, responsible, and professional. They always arrived on time, and on the single day that they faced an unavoidable delay, they stayed late the following day in order to remain on schedule. Moreover, his team went well "above and beyond" - as just one example, his plumber checked not only the shower after his work was completed, but also the tub and toilet in that bathroom, thereby discovering (and repairing!) a toilet leak. Finally, Yamane and his team cheerfully worked around my 3 preschoolers, my cats, the neighbor's children, my visiting parents, and all the general chaos that goes along with a house full of young children. They were friendly, and yet always kept the safety of my children foremost in their minds. A final word about price - I don't know if someone else would have completed this job for less money, although I suspect that we could have found someone who would be willing. However, I am completely confident that we could not have found a better VALUE for our money. For us, the issue was not price per se, but the dollar-for-dollar value of having the job performed competently and correctly, thereby saving us additional costs and problems down the line. Yamane and his team exceeded my expectations in absolutely every respect. I cannot possibly recommend him as highly as I would like to, except to say that Yamane changed my opinion of general contractors. He is a careful, meticulous, ethical, highly skilled craftsman who sets (and exceeds) his own standards.

We experienced a great deal of water seepage through the brickwork in our building. After several failed attempts at stopping the seepage and leaks, we had a specialist recommended to us, Yamane Development, which we also found on Angie’s List with an “A“ rating. With two recommendations, we decided to call Jeff and Tom of Yamane Development. They came out to survey the damage and tell us what to do in order to eliminate the problem, hopefully once and for all. Their advice, and what we ultimately agreed to, was a grind and re-tuckpointing followed by a high quality sealer on the brickwork. After a few days of heavy rain, we checked the area affected and found no seepage or leaks. We are extremely happy with the results, and with the professional and experienced way in which Yamane Development works, and would highly recommend them. We also feel that we got our money’s worth in that the cost of the job matched the quality of work. Now we are going to seek out the expertise of Yamane Development for the work to be done on the inside walls which were also affected by the seepage. Thanks, Jeff and Tom for a wonderful job!

Everything has been really good and they did a pretty good job. We spent $10,850 on that work. We have a lot of problems with this new construction we live in and he is repairing all the stuff that is sub-standard. He is doing a lot of maintenance and repair.

Everyone was prompt, capable, and careful. They went to great efforts to contain the dust when working indoors and left the area cleaner than they found it. The work was done within a tricky time-frame (we waited till Fall to get the project started), and Jeff Yamane worked hard to accommodate us. He and his crew were great at troubleshooting the problem, and meticulous about repair. They worked quickly and solved the problem. I highly recommend Yamane Development for problems with new construction. We were disappointed to find out our brand new home had significant defects (even though it passed inspection), but feel like we can address the problems with Jeff's help.
