The pricing is competitive and quality of work is good. we really liked the way the kitchen has been done.
We got an estimate when we intially met Pawel for measurements and design the new kitchen.
Its always good to know the allowances included like the items/material in the price.
Since there are lots of options in this area, I would recommend collecting all the details like type/grade of granite included in price, cabinets, back splash options.
So Pawel was exactly on time for our walk through. He brought his iPad with lots of pictures of prior jobs. Each was more beautiful than the next. He listened to what I wanted and made some suggestions that I hadn't even thought about. He was patient and it took nearly an hour to walk through the condo so I could relay what I wanted. Later that evening, he sent me a very thorough quote and didn't miss a single thing we spoke about. I was amazed...here was a man who really listened to what I wanted!
I met with Contractor 2 who was 30 minutes late and not prepared to show me his work. He rushed me through the job and he "knew" what I wanted. I got his quote 2 or 3 days later and much of the detail we spoke of was missing. This quote was slightly less than Pawel's but I was certain he had missed things and he would begin nickel and diming me.
Finally, because I wanted 3 bids, I brought in one of the installers for one of the big chain supply stores. He was on time and nice, but everything was a la carte. The price was nearly double what Pawel had quoted.
So, you know where this is going...it was very easy to select Pawel (plus he's the nicest man ever!).
We agreed he would start after the holidays. I had some time and didn't need to move in for two months. Demolition was done very quickly and he removed every scrap of everything and swept the floors after. He and his crew really respected the place as if it was his own. His crew worked quickly through the changes. Pawel and I met one day and he brought with him one sample of cabinet that he thought I would like after our initial walkthrough. He only needed to bring one cabinet because it was exactly what I wanted. He gave me a web site to review and make selections on finishes, etc. I did and shared with him. I tried sourcing myself locally and could never find it, but then he'd show up with a sample or two and it was what I had showed him I liked. Then there were times he said, no this won't work and would patiently tell me why. I told you he listened and respected what I wanted. Happened over and over again, he making suggestions and bringing samples that were perfect.
The work went on. He'd find other things that required fixing like some mold in the kitchen and bath ceiling. He fixed without additional charge. He told me I needed a fan for the bathroom and while I hate them, he convinced me it was necessary and then he sourced the world's quietest bath fan. As you might expect this was an extra charge, but quite reasonable.
We'd meet about every two weeks when new decisions needed to be made. He answered my countless emails respectfully. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. Except for the special order bathroom vanity that was delayed in delivery, he finished on time. My new washer had a problem and he came back to fix for me immediately. I had a light bulb that needed replacing and a few other little things that still needed to be done but rather than asking him to send his crew over again, I lived with and he took care of them when the bathroom vanity came in plus a few things that weren't his responsibility.
My condo remodel is beautiful and functional. Everyone comments and wants tours. I've given his name to two of my neighbors. I've done several remodel jobs and I wish I had Pawel for them. But so glad I found him now. He will forever be my go-to guy for any renovations.
He was on time (actually, early) for the estimate. He had a portfolio of other jobs he had done. He offered good design suggestions.
If I had any questions or concerns, I'd get a response back from him or his secretary within a reasonable time. He continually brought me samples of backsplashes and granite because I kept CHANGING MY MIND.....all the while telling me, "I just want you to love your kitchen".
His crew was conscientious and hard working. They cleaned up every night before they left.
I would definitely recommend Worthy Builders.
IAAAA
If you want your home repairs done right these are the guys to go with. I had to have my roof redone and tuckpointing. And I also wanted new windows. And the best part was I could get it all from the same company. The work was finished on time to. What I liked the most was at the end of every work day. They made sure everything was cleaned up. They also made sure the entire lawn was clean from the roof. So nails or anything like that was not left behind. Not to mention the quality of the craftsmanship. The roof and windows look great. This is the type of company that will be in business 50 years from now.
I am writing a review and recommendation for Worthy Builders located on the Northwest side of Chicago. In April of this year I hired Worthy Builders to do a complete remodeling of my kitchen. I can sincerely say that Worthy Builders did an excellent job at a fair price. They did not rush the job, although I was happy they finished sooner than I expected. They used good quality materials and their craftsmanship was very professional. From start to finish the work crew made me feel very comfortable with my decision on hiring Worthy Builders as my contractor. I would highly recommend these guys for anyone considering a remodeling project in their home.
