Good company but only 2 of the 3 movers showed up. They gave us a discounted rate because it took way longer. The one downfall was the guy in charge wouldn't shut up about how much stuff we had to move and I became very annoying because he wasn't the one moving our stuff just standing around going "wow, you have alot of boxes" I took the time to fill out the moving inventory but they said they never received it.

When I hired Under One Roof for my move this Aug., it was because I had had a wonderful experience when they moved me the year before. However, something had drastically changed since then and my last experience was a horror. Where do I begin: Moving day I found 4 unannounced guys at my door. I was not given names before they arrived, so I was a little hesitant. As they carried out boxes and furniture, I realized that the fellows were very hardworking and serious about the job. They took no breaks until the whole truck was loaded and even then, when they began to unload at my new place, they worked without a break. HOWEVER, they were pretty clueless about the organization involved in moving and, unlike the team the year before, seemed to just throw boxes on top of each other while moving the furniture before all the boxes were loaded. I warned them about the boxes marked fragile over and over, but it did not prevent them from damaging glassware and other breakables because they put heavy boxes on top or fragile boxes. On my first move, all my paintings and art were individually wrapped and packed. This time, they were all thrown into a large box without so much as a piece of tissue paper between them. The only art that survived the move without damages were a few pieces I packed on my own. One oil painting looked like someone put their foot through it and has extensive damage--which Under One Roof refused to pay for or even discuss. The wardrobe boxes collapsed as soon as they were filled with clothes. Again, that did not happen the year before. In addition, EVERY piece of wood furniture came to the new house with nicks, scratches and dings, and small chunks missing. A few of my large lamps were damaged. My platform bed was put together wrong. A couple of the guys could not distinguish one room from another and kept putting offices boxes (all of which were marked according to the room they belonged in) in the guest room. They left quite a few boxes that should have gone upstairs in my living room. Meaning I had to carry them up. When I went to my condo to clean up for the new owner, I discovered 2 van loads of stuff that had been left behind. I had to pack them up and move them on my own. They left a large picture still on the wall, all my small area rugs, vacuums, boxes, and more. I have complained to UOR without any resolution. They barely seemed interested. I do not have extremely expensive things, thank god, but it seems to me that a move of this caliber should be and embarrassment to them. I would never use them again and never recommend them to anyone. The one good thing I can say is that they are reasonably priced. But if this is the way that they routinely handle moving, then they are seriously overpriced. Avoid at all costs.

GREAT experience. Under One Roof recently helped me move into my new house. On the business end, everybody that I worked with was well organized, friendly, honest, and accommodating. Communication was excellent- when the guys were running just a few minutes late, I was contacted immediately by the office. The guys who came out to move us were also outstanding. Very friendly and helpful. I felt completely comfortable letting them do their thing while kept myself busy taking care of other household items. They took great care of our belongings and were careful of our new house as well. I would highly recommend Under One Roof to anybody who is making a move of any kind.

Very helpful and agreeable team. We moved boxes and furniture out of a storage locker to an attic and basement. They were prompt and worked around a problem in the storage place parking lot.
