One of the key issues for this project was time. We had only a couple of weeks before my mother was moving in, and Ned and his crew worked hard to get everything in place and finished on schedule. All of the professionals that came in did excellent work and were very responsive to what we needed. Special shout-out to the tile guys: really beautiful results.
The work was done on time and on budget. The bathroom is really very nice. I wouldn't have thought you could fit all the elements in and have it not feel crowded but Ned's design worked well. Everyone who visits comments on how good it looks. Now if only I could afford to have Ned rehab our other bathroom...
We had a mold problem in the master bedroom. The mold remediation contractor removed and sealed the areas with mold in the walls and ceiling. Now we had to have the area rebuilt. we didn't like the location of the closet -- it was hard to find a wall for the bed.
I called Trivic Remodelers and Ned was able to come out the next day to give us an estimate. He talked with me at length about moving the electrical service for the closet, the problems associated with getting the drywall up the stairs, possible ventilation fixes to prevent further mold problems, and asked questions to be sure he understood what we wanted. He told me he would be able to start in about 2 weeks.
After a week he hadn't gotten back to me, so I called. He apologized and within a couple of hours I had the estimate. It wasn't as detailed as I would like, but the amount was reasonable considering what we needed done. We agreed and he came to my house the next day to sign the contract. The contract was detailed, so I could tell he understood what we wanted. He did not ask for any payment until the day he started work. True to his word he started 2 weeks after the day he gave us the estimate. His crew started on the Friday before Labor Day and finished by September 10th. On the 12th Ned came out and personally finished up a few details. and I gave him the final payment.
They did a good job of matching the stain on the new trim to the existing trim and the new paint looks great. (It was a complicated 3-color job). The closet is much better in it's new location.
"This lady made an appointment for a fence estimate. I'm not sure why a kitchen was discussed. Normally I personally see customers who request a kitchen or bath estimate. There are so many variables and choices in a kitchen/bath project. Prices can vary greatly depending on what the customer selects as far as materials and layout specifics. I wish I would have met this lady instead of a new sales representative."
"We did some bathroom work for [member name removed] three years ago. She called our office about repairing an electrical switch for her garbage disposal in her kitchen and replacing some trim work. I told her that we were busy and would not be able to see her immediately. I did call her a few weeks later but never reached her to set up an appointment to see her."
"I do not recall talking to this lady. Every job is different and we are not able to give prices until we see the actual home and what work must be done. The member states that we did not see her so I dont know how she came up with an estimated cost."
Ned was responsive to inquiries day and night, and he's easy to get a hold of. If there is a minor complaint, I'd say that they do try to suggest additional jobs they can do - they're not pushy about it, but it did come up in multiple conversations. We just moved into our place and did mention that we were potentially looking at doing some additional work, so that might have something to do with it, but I saw some other reviews along the same lines so I thought I'd mention my impression. That being said, I will still be calling them for potential work we do in the future.
Trivic wasn?t the highest or the lowest bid we received (probably closer to the high end than the low end), but based on my first interaction with Ned I was confident we would be in good hands. I probably would have hired Trivic even if they were the highest bid. Our goal was to complete certain important projects (e.g., master bath remodel) before moving in, and Ned and his team effectively managed our timeline and expectations and met all of them. During the busiest times of our remodel, I was in contact with Ned nearly every day and usually multiple times a day. Ned sought our input on all important decisions and made his own where appropriate. His whole team was courteous and responsive throughout the project, willing to coordinate with other service providers we hired on our own (e.g., hardwood floor refinishing) and adjust work schedules as necessary. Ned can recommend specialists for any area but will not push them on you. For example, Ned recommended a painter but had no problem with us selecting someone else after receiving a few quotes. His team, Wesley in particular, is extremely trustworthy, takes pride in their work and it shows in the final result.
I will let the pictures speak for themselves, but in short we are 110% pleased with the results. We wound up with a main level with all new trim work, a brand new kitchen and two new bathrooms. Given the size of our project and delays (on our end) in selecting materials, etc. we wound up with numerous small punch-list jobs like moving recessed lighting, hanging pendants, and installing
a kitchen backsplash and undermount lighting. My experience was that Ned works more informally in terms of pricing for these ?add-ons? that inevitably occur with any project, but I was comfortable working with Trivic within this framework knowing that pricing would be fair and the work would be top-notch.
We only had one minor hiccup that I can remember on our project, which I think is worth mentioning because it exemplifies the level of service that Trivic provides. Ned?s team installed a new garbage disposal while we were waiting for a connecting dishwasher drain hose. The dishwasher inlet on the disposal remained unplugged (due to having no dishwasher hose) and we had an overflow while doing dishes in the sink one night. I contacted Ned late at night and he came over first thing the next morning with a plug. Minor problem, simple solution fixed immediately. By contrast, we?ve had other contractors take weeks to correct issues.
Trivic was an exceptional company for our project. We invested in quality materials and service and are happy with the result. We will absolutely hire them again and have recommended Ned and his team others.
Every person on Ned's team was great (plumbers, carpentry, electrical, drywallers, etc). Completely professional, kind (one guy brought cookies for my 2 yr old daughter!) and worked in a timely fashion. Ned has his work cut out for him with our budget and wants, but it worked out great. The project was on budget, we got everything we wanted in the bathroom and we're thrilled with the overall experience.
I would definitely recommend using Trivic Remodelers and we already have additional projects lined up for Ned to work on. Additionally, Ned is a fantastic guy and we consider him a friend now.
I met with several contractors when I started this project, but Ned was by far the most thorough of all of them, taking time to answer questions and ask questions of his own. Price was right in line with the other bids I received, and when we discovered just how bad our stack pipe situation was, he worked with us to do the extra work without the cost becoming too onerous. His crew was very thorough, making sure to keep us apprised of all our progress, and making sure the workspace was clean every night. I'm highly impressed with the finished project - from the quality of the plumbing, to the tile work, to the construction of the new closet. Our bathroom is a whole new space now, and I would gladly hire Trivic for future work.
I was on a very tight budget as I was getting the house ready to put on the market. I was also willing to do any grunt work to help keep the costs down. Ned was very considerate of my budget and time constraints and did everything to keep the project moving forward and on schedule. He also suggested things that I could do to help keep the costs down. For example, I purchased my cabinets from ikea and put them together myself. I also did most of the demo. work myself. The rest I left to Ned. He had great ideas and my kitchen is absolutely beautiful! He was in contact with me frequently throughout the project both by phone and onsite. I always knew the status of the project and never had to call him to find out the status. He even came over and helped me move my refrigerator and other furniture back after I had my hardwood floors refinished because my daughter was coming out to visit! He certainly went above and beyond.
Today, was our final inspection and the project was completed pretty close to on schedule and budget! Now, I need to finish up my painting projects and the house will be ready to go on the market.
What a great experience this remodel has been! Many thanks to Ned, Gustavo, Art and Jim!
"This member never spoke to me personally. He might have spoken to another company altogether. My office personnel are professional and have worked years for us. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable and totally out of character for any of my employees. I think this member has us confused with some other company. If he wishes to speak to me directly he may call me any morning after 9:00am."
