I wanted to add a dishwasher to the kitchen without putting all new cabinets in.  In order to do that we had to move the stove, which was next to the sink, over to the opposite side of the kitchen.  Ned was very creative in coming up with solutions.  He really gave me a remodel that was very affordable and quality work simply by moving the cabinets around to fit the new space and moving the gas line to the other side of the kitchen for the stove.  A small amount of new plumbing for the dishwasher and we had a kitchen that looked like new but was actually the old cabinets and appliances except for the new dishwasher.  Brilliant and very affordable and it looked great.

Things were good from day one, a crew of three showed up the first day and did the demo on the bathrooms. Then a team of 2 plumbers were sent in to add all new plumbing in our home. The lead plumber whose name was Mike did the original inspection of our pipes and was very informative about what was needed to be done and why. Throughout the process of installing our new pipes, if he occurred something that could have been done better or needed replacing he brought it to my attention and explained what he needed to do to make the fix. After the plumbers did their work, a two man crew of carpenters came in to put the finishing touches on the bathrooms. The lead carpenters name was Gustavo, who was very professional and informative as well. Between the two crews led by Mike and Gustavo there was no complaints of their work or professionalism. The owner Ned has a good team on his hands and I would have no problems hiring them again if more work is needed on my home. Ned was very easy to work with, accommodating,  and helpful at making choices that worked best in my home.

Many of these projects take on a life of their own and this one was no different. This was my fourth major remodel and I knew what to expect as to cost overruns, delays and such; there was a lot of emergent work as the building is well over 100 years old. All of this I took in stride and felt the project went very well. Glitches  were smoothed out with very little problems. Any delays were on me as I dragged my feet on some decisions and even went on a 2 week vacation. Ned had some good ideas and suggested things I would have not considered. To this testimonial I would add, he is going to redo the upstairs apartment in 2 months. This company has my full endorsement.

We got quotes from several contractors with strong recommendations on the list. We went with Ned, not because he was the cheapest (he wasn't), but because he really listened to what we wanted and had good ideas for how to solve the problem: making everything fit into a small space and still look good. He gave us a fixed price estimate for the labor and materials except for tile and fixtures, etc.
One of the key issues for this project was time. We had only a couple of weeks before my mother was moving in, and Ned and his crew worked hard to get everything in place and finished on schedule. All of the professionals that came in did excellent work and were very responsive to what we needed. Special shout-out to the tile guys: really beautiful results.
The work was done on time and on budget. The bathroom is really very nice. I wouldn't have thought you could fit all the elements in and have it not feel crowded but Ned's design worked well. Everyone who visits comments on how good it looks. Now if only I could afford to have Ned rehab our other bathroom...

We had a mold problem in the master bedroom.  The mold remediation contractor removed and sealed the areas with mold in the walls and ceiling.  Now we had to have the area rebuilt.  we didn't like the location of the closet -- it was hard to find a wall for the bed.

I called Trivic Remodelers and Ned was able to come out the next day to give us an estimate.  He talked with me at length about moving the electrical service for the closet, the problems associated with getting the drywall up the stairs, possible ventilation fixes to prevent further mold problems, and asked questions to be sure he understood what we wanted.  He told me he would be able to start in about 2 weeks.

After a week he hadn't gotten back to me, so I called.  He apologized and within a couple of hours I had the estimate.  It wasn't as detailed as I would like, but the amount was reasonable considering what we needed done.  We agreed and he came to my house the next day to sign the contract.  The contract was detailed, so I could tell he understood what we wanted.  He did not ask for any payment until the day he started work.  True to his word he started 2 weeks after the day he gave us the estimate.  His crew started on the Friday before Labor Day and finished by September 10th.  On the 12th Ned came out and personally finished up a few details. and I gave him the final payment.

They did a good  job of matching the stain on the new trim to the existing trim and the new paint looks great. (It was a complicated 3-color job).  The closet is much better in it's new location.

"This lady made an appointment for a fence estimate. I'm not sure why a kitchen was discussed. Normally I personally see customers who request a kitchen or bath estimate. There are so many variables and choices in a kitchen/bath project. Prices can vary greatly depending on what the customer selects as far as materials and layout specifics. I wish I would have met this lady instead of a new sales representative."

First, as far as their work product, it appears to be top-notch.  Ned & his team created a new bedroom by installing a wall in a former den and moving a wet bar, as well as installing a closet in the new bedroom.  Throughout the process, the communication with the contractors was good and they made a number of helpful suggestions as the project moved along.  The end result is a beautiful new bedroom that looks like it's part of the original structure (no gaps in the wall connections, wet bar is installed properly, etc.)  Trivic came in about the middle to upper middle range of bids, but we're happy we went with them.
Ned was responsive to inquiries day and night, and he's easy to get a hold of.  If there is a minor complaint, I'd say that they do try to suggest additional jobs they can do - they're not pushy about it, but it did come up in multiple conversations.  We just moved into our place and did mention that we were potentially looking at doing some additional work, so that might have something to do with it, but I saw some other reviews along the same lines so I thought I'd mention my impression.  That being said, I will still be calling them for potential work we do in the future.

Ned Trivic and his team are absolutely the best!  When he first came to my house for the initial consultation, I was impressed by Ned?s attention to detail; he pointed out some things that I had not noticed.  He and his team got the job done on time and on budget.  I will add, though, that there was a MAJOR plumbing problem that had to be repaired and caused me additional expense, but I was happy to be informed about it, allowing me to make the decision to go forward with the repair rather than just let it continue to get worse.  However, there were some unexpected MINOR drywall issues that arose and he did not charge me any extra for those.  Also, I asked his electrician to install a couple of additional electrical outlets and two ceiling fans and he gladly took care of this for me at no extra charge.  Ned?s workers were all very polite and friendly.  I also hired a painter to paint while Ned?s workers were there and all of them worked together smoothly without any problems.  Ned was very easy to contact via telephone and he consulted with me about every little decision, right down to grout colors and placement of the toilet paper holder, and directed his workers in great detail.  I highly recommend Trivic Remodelers!  Thanks guys!

Ned Trivic and his team were fantastic and did a wonderful job! We had a pretty tight schedule of about 1.5 month which they were able to keep. Their work was of good quality and it has been incredibly easy to discuss ideas and options as we were moving along during the work. We live in a high rise building which comes with many restrictions and regulations. Despite these added difficulties, Ned and his team were good in adapting and always finding the most efficient solutions. Our kitchen and the bathroom turned out to be exactly what we wanted. The quality of their work was really great. Ned helped us out on several occasions with some unexpected problems (carpet install, replacing front door), which saved us a lot of time and agony. Thanks to his efforts we were able to move in a little bit earlier than we had anticipated. We very much recommend him for any remodeling work. He was also very good in keeping with limits of the estimated budget.

Please read this entire review as the length is necessary given the size of my project and positive experience with Trivic.  I was impressed with Trivic from my first very phone conversation with Ned, which lasted about fifteen minutes and involved Ned feeling out what we were looking to accomplish and within what timeframe.  No other contractor invested so much time learning about our project in determining whether to provide an estimate.  Our renovation involved three main projects: (1) remodeling two bathrooms; (2) installing custom kitchen cabinets and new countertops; and (3) adding finish carpentry to the main level including new crown molding, baseboards and wainscoating.
Trivic wasn?t the highest or the lowest bid we received (probably closer to the high end than the low end), but based on my first interaction with Ned I was confident we would be in good hands.  I probably would have hired Trivic even if they were the highest bid. Our goal was to complete certain important projects (e.g., master bath remodel) before moving in, and Ned and his team effectively managed our timeline and expectations and met all of them. During the busiest times of our remodel, I was in contact with Ned nearly every day and usually multiple times a day.  Ned sought our input on all important decisions and made his own where appropriate. His whole team was courteous and responsive throughout the project, willing to coordinate with other service providers we hired on our own (e.g., hardwood floor refinishing) and adjust work schedules as necessary.  Ned can recommend specialists for any area but will not push them on you.  For example, Ned recommended a painter but had no problem with us selecting someone else after receiving a few quotes.  His team, Wesley in particular, is extremely trustworthy, takes pride in their work and it shows in the final result.
I will let the pictures speak for themselves, but in short we are 110% pleased with the results. We wound up with a main level with all new trim work, a brand new kitchen and two new bathrooms.  Given the size of our project and delays (on our end) in selecting materials, etc. we wound up with numerous small punch-list jobs like moving recessed lighting, hanging pendants, and installing
a kitchen backsplash and undermount lighting.  My experience was that Ned works more informally in terms of pricing for these ?add-ons? that inevitably occur with any project, but I was comfortable working with Trivic within this framework knowing that pricing would be fair and the work would be top-notch.
We only had one minor hiccup that I can remember on our project, which I think is worth mentioning because it exemplifies the level of service that Trivic provides.  Ned?s team installed a new garbage disposal while we were waiting for a connecting dishwasher drain hose.  The dishwasher inlet on the disposal remained unplugged (due to having no dishwasher hose) and we had an overflow while doing dishes in the sink one night.  I contacted Ned late at night and he came over first thing the next morning with a plug.  Minor problem, simple solution fixed immediately.  By contrast, we?ve had other contractors take weeks to correct issues.
Trivic was an exceptional company for our project.  We invested in quality materials and service and are happy with the result.  We will absolutely hire them again and have recommended Ned and his team others.

I have block windows and they did cause a small amount of damage and the owner was very nice and they replaced that. The siding came out very nice and they did an excellent job. He did an excellent job matching the color of the siding to my garage siding, as the rest of my home is brick. Ned the owner did a great job and he was very accommodating.

The railing that he added was a good quality railing. They were able to do the work within one day which was great. He is very good about working with properties that I own and he is quick with the work and he will bring a good size crew to get the work done efficiently. The cost is always fair. The guys that work for him are great. They are very professional as well. While doing the plumbing box work one of the tenants dropped an earring down the drain in another apartment and they were willing to get it out at no cost.

After going through a horrible experience with another GC, I found Ned (owner of Trivic Remodelers) on AngiesList and had him come over and see what he could do to complete the job.  Essentially, Ned and his team had to complete the demo and start from scratch on the remodel.  Ned was honest, worked within our budget and provided great advice on how to get what we wanted within our budget.
Every person on Ned's team was great (plumbers, carpentry, electrical, drywallers, etc).  Completely professional, kind (one guy brought cookies for my 2 yr old daughter!) and worked in a timely fashion.  Ned has his work cut out for him with our budget and wants, but it worked out great.  The project was on budget, we got everything we wanted in the bathroom and we're thrilled with the overall experience.
I would definitely recommend using Trivic Remodelers and we already have additional projects lined up for Ned to work on.  Additionally, Ned is a fantastic guy and we consider him a friend now.

We sought out Trivic Remodelers to perform a complete overhaul of our 1st floor bathroom, which had likely last been renovatedsometime in the 60s. We had a leak from the 2nd floor, and due to the realities of having an old house, the floor was quite slanted. Ned and his crew did a fantastic job with the entire project.
I met with several contractors when I started this project, but Ned was by far the most thorough of all of them, taking time to answer questions and ask questions of his own. Price was right in line with the other bids I received, and when we discovered just how bad our stack pipe situation was, he worked with us to do the extra work without the cost becoming too onerous. His crew was very thorough, making sure to keep us apprised of all our progress, and making sure the workspace was clean every night. I'm highly impressed with the finished project - from the quality of the plumbing, to the tile work, to the construction of the new closet. Our bathroom is a whole new space now, and I would gladly hire Trivic for future work.

It went great; better than great.  I am glad the project is finished but I am really sorry to see them go.  What a pleasure it has been to work with Ned and his crew.  In late February, 2013, I found Trivec Remodelers on Angie's List after I had a bad experience with the contractor that prepared the plans.  I decided not to have him do the work and was searching for a contractor that I was comfortable with.  Ned responded to my email message promptly and we set up a time for him to come look at the project.  I knew we would get along great as soon as he walked in the door.  Ned is an absolute pleasure to work with.  I can't say enough great things about him and the people he brought in to work on the project.
I was on a very tight budget as I was getting the house ready to put on the market.  I was also willing to do any grunt work to help keep the costs down.  Ned was very considerate of my budget and time constraints and did everything to keep the project moving forward and on schedule.  He also suggested things that I could do to help keep the costs down.  For example, I purchased my cabinets from ikea and put them together myself.  I also did most of the demo. work myself.  The rest I left to Ned.  He had great ideas and my kitchen is absolutely beautiful!  He was in contact with me frequently throughout the project both by phone and onsite. I always knew the status of the project and never had to call him to find out the status.  He even came over and helped me move my refrigerator and other furniture back after I had my hardwood floors refinished because my daughter was coming out to visit!  He certainly went above and beyond.
Today, was our final inspection and the project was completed pretty close to on schedule and budget!  Now, I need to finish up my painting projects and the house will be ready to go on the market.
What a great experience this remodel has been!  Many thanks to Ned, Gustavo, Art and Jim!
