Just before the holiday season, our Frigidaire dishwasher began shutting down three quarters through a wash cycle and the panel lights would blink insanely. We contacted American Home Shield who dispatched Sunrise 2 Sunset. They came in, collected their $75 co-pay and without running the dishwasher through the cycle, found that they must order a new latch mechanism. Several days later, they returned to install the new part and a new rubber seal for the door. Again they left without running the dishwasher through the complete cycle. The first time we ran the dishwasher the exact problem reoccurred, but this time we recorded the problem on our smart phone. We went through the American Home Shield process once again and S2S was sent back for a second look. This time they sent a senior technician who, after seeing the recording we made, determined that it was a relay which needed to be replaced. Of course, he never actually witnessed the problem happening as he also did not run the dishwasher through the wash cycle. After several days, we were contacted by American Home Shield who told us that they would not be doing any further repair but rather they would be buying us a new dishwasher. We were thrilled. They delivered a beautiful, new dishwasher and contacted S2S to do the installation.
Sunrise 2 Sunset sent out a crew of two persons who "installed' the dishwasher. When they were done and gone, we discovered a sound reducing panel still wrapped in packing material, stuffed under our kitchen sink. We contacted S2S to have them come back and install this panel which would make the new dishwasher quieter. We were informed that this panel would be an additional charge to install since the manufacturer states that it is not a necessary installation for the operation of the dishwasher. We were very confused and upset that the dishwasher installation would not be complete unless we paid more. To further the problems, when we opened the newly installed dishwasher and pulled the racks forward to load the dishes, the dishwasher tipped forward and fell out from under the cabinets. It had never been anchored. We checked the installation instructions which clearly stated that you could either anchor the dishwasher under the counter top or if you had granite counter tops (which we do) the dishwasher had side anchor points which could be screwed into the cabinets. We, once again, contacted American Home Shield who contacted Sunrise 2 Sunset. The response from S2S was that they "installed the dishwasher according to the manufacturer specifications." We were amazed that any manufacturer would specify that the dishwasher would not be anchored and fall out of the cabinet opening when being loaded. Sunrise 2 Sunset did say that they would come out and re-install the dishwasher for an additional charge. This was not acceptable to us. We had someone else come and do a proper installation of the dishwasher with the sound panel and proper anchoring and let American Home Shield that we would not be accepting any further work orders from Sunrise 2 Sunset Appliance Repair.
