The roof continued to leak after their work.

Is was great. Promptly arrived for estimate. Was willing to use the supplies I had been able to obtain. Work began as promised (rain one day delay, but I was called the day before) completed on schedule. When we ran short of tiles, the crew drove to my friends to pick it up for me. Neat, safe, professional.

The two men who performed the work were very hard workers. They completed the project in the time they said they would and left the house is far better condition than they found it. They even hung a light fixture for us rather than having us call our electrician back to hang it. We were very happy with them and would use Smart Roofing again.

These guys are incredible professionals and their workmanship is a throwback to quality tradework that rarely exists in today's market.  The job manager, Stan Miodowski, was incredible throughout the process including design, bidding, installation, and follow-up.  My roof replacement was complicated because it included so many elements including all new slate and copper, as well as creating a ventilation system for the roof that was not part of the original house (90+ years old).  They also did some complicated brick repair which turned out great.  They came up with a creative ventilation system using roof panels and unobtrusive vents, while keeping the integrity of the look and architecture.  They took their time to make sure they had the right solution and made sure the installation could be done in the timeframe and cost they projected.  I was honestly expecting a longer installation time and a higher price than their quote, given the complicated nature of the job, but it didn't happen - they hit the timing and the price as quoted and didn't try to play any games.  Their overall price was also competitive compared to the two other bids I received.  Their workers on-site were professional and courteous and they showed up every single day (including some weekends) until the job was done.  Stan checked in on the site frequently, and was always available to answer any questions I had.  Everything I asked for was completed per the bid and scope (including a few extras I added), and I never had to remind them of any aspect of the job.  Normally spending this kind of money on a repair is painful, but I have to say this process was enjoyable - and the outcome was a work of art.  I have gotten calls and comments from numerous neighbors, and even the local historical society.  I could not possibly recommend these guys more strongly as honest, quality contractors.

Pete and the rest of his team were wonderful. We were initially impressed with Pete's knowledge of roofs and his ability to educate us on what was needed. He was honest about what we needed and what we didn't. He kept us in the loop regarding the process each day as well. His team was polite, thorough, quick, and tidy. Smart Roofing was our middle of the road quote amongst three others and they were worth every penny. We would definitely use them again.

It was good! They were very professional, did a good job on the roof, and showed up every day to work. The project took a little longer than I had anticipated but that was partially due to weather and a challenging roof elevation. Overall, I was very happy with the work.

After a tremendous wind storm this spring, half of the facia cladding on the front of my home was torn from the building, exposing the wood frame. I feared the weather would further damage that portion of the roof, so I contacted Smart Roofing to get a quote. A relative referred this company to me when his family needed help replacing their entire roof. Smart Roofing provided their quote and informed me they could come out ASAP to remove the damaged material, fabricate the new cladding on-site, and replace it. They were very professional and were able to locate my location quickly (due to their office in close proximity). They completed the work efficiently and hauled away the debris. I am still very pleased with the results. No leaks!

It was years ago. The raccoon tore through some things in the roof. Andy Irvine was his name. He was very good, very professional, very good. When he gave me the estimate he said it might come in for less but would not come in for more. And I thought that he was excellent representative of the company. I recommended him to my neighbor.

We were very pleased with their service and their work.
They gave us several options for venting (the attic was previously not vented) and talked us through the pros and cons of each option.
They were quick and cleaned up all the debris.
They accidentally broke one of our storm windows and Smart Roofing completely reimbursed us for the repair with no problem.

I interviewed and received proposals form six roofing contractors. From our first meeting Mike S at Smart Roofing impressed my with his listening ability and his knowledge of roofing. Mike's proposal broke down the project just as I requested. A few of the other proposal came back without any breakdown at all. A few of the proposal can back without addressing any special treatment of a unique architectural element of my roof know as an and quot;eye browand quot; roof. My house has eight of these small arching roofs.
Smart Roofing proposal was not the highest or the lowest, but they offered a complete roofing solution at a competitive price.
The Smart Roofing team arrived early on the day we agreed . My house was built early in the 1950's and had three old roofs which had to be removed. We have invested a great deal into our landscaping. For the removal of the old roofs Smart Roofing was careful to protect our landscaping with a combination of plywood and tarps. The project took three days. They cleaned up before leaving each day. The daily clean up included sweeping for nails. They completed the entire project as and when promised. I was extremely pleased because everything looked great and I could show off my new roof to my extended family who were visiting on the weekend.
Since my new roof was installed by Smart Roofing the Chicago Area has experienced the heaviest April rain total in recorded history. I have not had a single problem with roof.

I worked with Rich Wojcik from Smart Roofing all the way through our project. Rich was the only contractor who went inside my house and looked inside the attic to get an idea of the roof deck condition. His overall presentation was excellent and before he left, he gave me a really nice presentation binder with not only shingle samples, but copies of proposal formats, current certificate of insurance coverage, state license copy, and professional designations. The entire process of getting estimates to completing the job was only about 5 weeks. Once we decided to use Smart Roofing, Rich put us into the schedule. They arrived Monday morning at 8:00 AM and were completely finished and cleaned up by 6:00 PM. The dumpster for the job was promptly picked up the next morning before 8:00 AM. Having worked in construction for 25 years, I can appreciate the difficulty of the work performed. My wife and I are very pleased with the results and would happily recommend Smart Roofing.

The roof replacement went great. Stan was very attentive to us and the job. They used a crain so as the houses are very close together and wanted to make sure that the removal of the old roof did not damage the neighbors' property. I highly recommend them.

Smart roofing sent a technician that very same day. He inspected the roof and the attic and all was dry. He spent at least an hour inspecting the roof and adding some caulking as an additional precaution.

The service was performed for free and he refused the tip I offered.

They were good and did a nice job. My experience has been excellent. They were excellent on price, quality, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism. I will continue to use them in future.

Stan from Smart Roofing came out when we called and gave us an estimate for tear off and re-roofing our house and 2 car detached garage. Stan is very knowledgeable (GAF certified installers) and professional and gave us a fair price, so we eventually signed the contract and faxed it back. Stan called us later that day and said they would be out in about two weeks, depending on the weather. In about that time Stan called us again to schedule the work to begin on the following Saturday. On the scheduled day the crew of 6 workmen arrived on time and by the end of the day they had completed the job. Stan even called me that day to suggest they install some ridge vents on the garage roof, as there were none, which they did at no additional cost! Even though it was hot, the crew was courteous and very professional. When they left, you couldn't even tell they were there, except for the brand new roof! Stan also mailed me the warranty sheet as promised. I would hire Smart Roofing again for any future projects.

They were very professional. They took pictures of it and chose the pictures exactly what was up there. What I liked was that they extended the gutters which were about fifteen to eighteen inch and the hangers holding the gutters. They cleaned up and kept in contact with us. We did have some water come in later which we couldn't understand but they promptly sent somebody else and they went up on the roof and checked it out. They checked everything and couldn't find any leaks or anything and they were thinking it was from the vent that the water was coming in. The price was a little bit more in competition than the other ones we checked but it was more a question of what they were going to do. They were doing a little more for what I was paying. Their quality was very good.

In 2010 I was ready for the flat part and called Pete and asked him for an estimate for the flat portion of the roof. He said he would call me and he didn't. I called again and he didn't return my call. I called a 3rd time and told him to please call me or else I would have to get someone else. I got someone else for the flat portion because Pete never bothered to call me back. The whole thing made no sense. It really bothered me that he never called me back, but I can't complain about the work he did.

I am very pleased with them. They were efficient, professional, and competitively priced.

It went well. Pete was very easy to work with and responsive. When he said his people would clean up every day, they did. I had loads of questions before I would sign and he answered all of them. The only reason I rated a B for price is because I always want the price cheaper! But he was fair in his pricing.

We have been very satisfied with our new roof but this year we had a problem with our ceilings leaking. Also our skylights were dripping so we called Pete of Smart Roofing to come out and check our roof, thinking we had some kind of leak. Pete came out and thoroughly checked our roof inside and out...taking pictures of everything he saw. I was very impressed with his thoroughness. After he had checked everything out, he talked to my husband and myself of the problems he saw. Our roof was fine but insulation was missing in our attic space causing the leaking problems. Mr. Konopka answered all the questions we had and explained everything that needed to be done on our part. He was very helpful.
