From the time I met with the sale prof., Luis, the experience was amazing. Permit was provided, all work was done when he said and he oversaw all steps and the job was (and is) PERFECT. I would not hesitate using or recommending them again.

Although the price was a bit higher than a few other contractors - it was well worth it. The quality of work was amazing!!! I really mean this and the professions that did the work were wonderful to deal with. Everyone on both projects showed up on time - kept me informed regarding what to expect and after everything was done, I was extremely happy. I love my new back porch , it was a large project because it covers a two story brick building but I have to say it exceeded my expectations. Casey was wonderful to work with, always answering my questions quickly with complete explanations. My neighbors are marveling at how great everything looks. I would highly recommend them.

I called for an estimate for my mothers house. I believed it would have been one side of the house that need tuck pointing but not sure. The stated they would not come out . The job was to small. Again they would not even come out to look.

They say they could not do the job. I'm disappointed they did not have the expertise, but appreciated their honesty.

Had a leaky back porch roof that had been done in old fashion (nails) and bad masonry, and resulted in leaking that caused holes drywall to cave in section of porch roof. Called several roofers over months; they were either unable to do the job, charged excessive rates or unresponsive. Second City responded, provided a competitive quote quickly and (after some scheduling issues due to weather) completed the job as planned. They were respectful, answered questions and addressed concerns. No leaks in new roof (I know b/c we haven't fixed drywall yet). Also referred an AC guy who did good work as well - would use again.

very well, workmen were on time, friendly and the cleanup was amazing!!!!! I looked out and could not believe it. When they left you would think no one had been there. Dust,buckets,ropes, broken bricks were all gone. Area where plants were had been cleaned up also.

I received a timely call to set up a time for a quote. The quote was turned around quickly, and was in the middle of those we received. We moved forward with Second City because of their responsiveness and how well the gentleman who did the quote knew his stuff. They let us know ahead of time when they would be out, and worked with us when we discovered we were missing a few pieces of the new siding. The job was done quickly, when they said they would do it, and the quality is good. The business office was easy to deal with and responsive. We are planning to hire them again on any future projects that are within their scope of services.

I went with to resolve some leaking around the gutters. It turned out nice and looks ok.

I had to call twice for them to give me an estimate. They finally cane and we're still waiting for the estimate. Maybe they have too much business.

I needed a new roof, and I called them first because they were at the top of the list. At first, I thought it just needed repair, so when I called them they said they didn't repair what they didn't install. Okay. When I talked to other companies, I realized I needed a complete tear off, so I called them back and got an estimate. When I compared them to the other roofers, their prices were in line but their contract really bothered me. They devoted about 1/2 of a page to tell me what they would do in summary form but proceeded to use about 2 - 3 pages of CYA which made me feel they were really trying to protect themselves as opposed to providing me with a good roof. This REALLY put me off because I have never chased the lowest cost. Also, they called me periodically to see if I still wanted the work done.

After confirming with me twice on the phone that someone would come to our home the following day between 11am and 1pm, no one bothered to show up or to call. A week later we still haven't heard from anyone related to this company. Common courtesy should be reason enough for them to call and apologize. Oh well, plenty of other roofers have responded and come to our home, so we are taking our business elsewhere.

It went well. We wanted to get the roof replaced before the winter weather came and we made it. They were professional and worked really hard. We would definitely do business with them again.

They rebuilt the roof portion of the dormer, re-surfaced the roof, sealed off the nail holes and edges, and replaced the siding with new aluminum.. They did an outstanding job, and it only took about half a day. They even cleaned out the gutters, replaced the missing shingles on the house and garage, and fixed a few other things that were not technically part of the deal. Awesome service! I would hire them again in a heartbeat, and in fact plan to do so soon.

It went very, very well! I am so pleased on the outcome of the quality of work and design on this project. Im still in awe of how gorgeous it looks!

It was difficult to set up and obtain the estimate. However, once they provided the bid everything went smoothly. They were very easy to work with and all of their work was installed timely and professionally. Would definitely hire again.

When I bought my house it was as is...I knew the deck needed work! AllPro came in and helped me realize my dream deck. Sonny designed and customized every detail, including the placement of a Fire Pit. In the end my old worn out "as is" deck, has doubled in size and is wonderfulI love It.

On Septmber 8, 2016, a gentleman came from Second City Roofing to give us an estimate of the roof.. We showed the insurance estimate and he told us that the cost should be between $15-17k, but an estimate would be sent to my email. As of today, we still have not received said estimate. Given that it is already Fall, an estimate would have been timely to get the roof redone before bad weather comes. We were put off by his attitude when he saw the estimate and it felt to us that he was uninterested in pursuing the job.

I was really pleased with the price and the work. My roof was removed down to the decking of the entire home. The wood was in great shape so none of it had to be replaced. 30 lb. felt was installed as well as 3 ft. ice and water shield with starter shingle and ice and water barrier to interior protrusions. Edge flash for proper run off to gutters was installed. All gutters were aligned and sealed. Since the replacement of my roof, I rarely get any water in the basement from the heavy rain. As a matter of fact, I've only gotten about a half of gallon about three times since I've replaced my roof. I use to get anywhere from 3-5 gallons per heavy rain. The foreman, Casey, was excellent. He made sure that everything was done well. He came out each day that the guys were working. The work was completed in 2 1/4 days. They did a great job. The cleanup was great as well. My salesperson, Steve, was very thorough and patient with me. He answered all of my questions and concerns. He showed me the company's licenses and proof of liability insurance. He explained the warranty. Upon completion of work, he mailed the manufacturer's warranty for the asphalt shingles to me, as promised.

Ed and his team are fabulous! Ed is such a nice guy to work with and very trustworthy. He checked in regularly to update me on progress. His crew was always prompt, efficient and friendly. They did a wonderful job on the roof and masonry work. We had one issue where one of the steps to our deck was broken in the process. I sent a photo of it to Ed and he had it fixed the next day, no questions asked. Though Second City was the most expensive quote we received, they were the most thorough and identified issues that no one else caught. I would highly recommend Second City and would use them again.

Great! Every time it rains, we can tell that the new roof and repaired gutters are doing their job keeping us dry and moving water away from our house. The weather was a little dicey during this project, which messed with the schedule, but Second City did a great job keeping us posted on their schedule, and everything was completed in a timely matter. They did an excellent job cleaning up when they finished the job (in fact, our yard probably looked better after they left than before they started). The skylight has been a great addition to our house, completely transforming our upstairs landing. I would recommend Second City to anyone and would definitely use them again.

When I made comments and asked questions, they were rude and unprofessional. When I refused to respond to inappropriate language, they continued swearing and yelling obscenities at me. Date listed is an approximation, as I fear retaliation.

I own a commercial retail property in the City Of Chicago. I am receiving a partial SBIF grant from the city to improve the building. With this grant i have to hire professional companies that are licensed in the City of Chicago and insured. I hire the companies pay them for the work they do then i get reimbursed from the city. So i come to angles list and start setting up appointments with a bunch of companies and have them come out. Second City being one of those companies. I called them set up a appointment. The estimator came out i explained to them what i need and told him i need, actually i must, use a professional company to do any work on my building and everything needs to be done right. Also that any work that Second City roofing thinks needs to be done i want it done. My building needs Masonry work, tuck pointing and partial roof tear out. After the estimator comes out takes measurements etc a couple weeks pass and i don't hear anything. I contact them and ask whats going on and i get passed around the office and was told once they get in touch with the estimator i will be contacted and updated. Well guess what i never received a call back. Couple more weeks pass and i tell myself what the heck they have a good reputation and the estimator seemed honest let me try giving these guys the benefit of the doubt. I call the office again and the secretary gave me the estimators number. I call him and tell him who i was and he tells me o the office does want to do your work because its a insurance job. I told him no its not a insurance job like i told you in person i pay you guys and i get reimbursed from the city and you have nothing to do with the city i just need a company thats licenses and reputable to do the work. The estimator says ok let me come out again and see the property. He comes out and meets with my business partner for not even 5 mins and told him ill email the estimate in a couple of days. A couple days go by and still nothing, i call the estimator and he's like it should have been sent out and i gave it to the office text me your email ill make sure you get it. I text him my email and also told him my relative owns a building that needs similar repair done and that he should contact him if they're interested. Days go buy and no email or call back. i called him back twice and i still haven't gotten a answer. I have gotten 3 bids so far and each bid is around $80,000-$100,000. It seems like Second City is too good for a job like this or they can't handle it. Either way they are very unprofessional and i suggest calling any of these companies below, all these companies below have been helpful and professional along the way.
