Horrible. The quality and business ethic is F . The finish product includes foot prints in the stain, there are spots in the floor from the workers applied the stain before they removed all the pre-existing finish, they did not fine sand numerous sections of the floor prior to staining and finishing so there are numerous visible gouges and scratches from the hand sander. They failed to inspect the work after each stage and prior to committing to the next step. Instead they rushed the job. Obvious deficiencies were pointed out and they committed to coming back to fix. We kept the retainage in the hopes of leveraging them to return and now they will not return phone calls or text messages and are only willing to give another clear coat and a buff.

Fantastic! Joseph came by at the appointed time on a Saturday and gave me an estimate. Estimate was in line with other vendors but I chose Schmal because they gave me a time frame I could work with to perform the work and gave me the estimate immediately. I called the following Monday to schedule the appointment, they came the following Tuesday on time and performed all the work that day. The work done was excellent and they left my home cleaner than it was when I left in the morning. I will use them for all of my flooring needs going forward.

Joseph and his crew did a great job. This is the third time I used them.

CALLED TWICE. THE WOMAN WHO ANSWERED THE FIRST TIME WAS VERY NICE & SAID SHE WOULD LOOK INTO IT. SPOKE THE NEXT DAY BY PHONE WITH THE OWNER, WHO WAS VERY HELPFUL IN IDENTIFYING ALL OF THE POSSIBLE SUPPLIERS, & OFFERING TO HELP FIGURE OUT EXACTLY HOW TO SOLVE OUR PROBLEM. WE HAVE ANOTHER VENDOR LINED UP ALREADY, BUT WE WOULD USE SCHMAL NEXT TIME, & I RECOMMEND THEM ONLY BECAUSE WHERE ELSE WOULD YOU FIND SOMEONE WHO WOULD HELP OUT ON SUCH AN ESOTERIC REQUEST WITH LITTLE OR NO CHANCE OF GETTING THE WORK? I WAS IMPRESSED.

DID A SUPERB SANDING JOB, ESPECIALLY EXCELLENT WITH PROBLEM AREAS. TALENTED AT HANDLING ALL TYPES OF WOODWORKING- E.G., WOOD FLOOR VENTS. VERY INFORMATIVE.

IF YOU WANT TO BE TORTURED BY UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE AND ATTITUDES AND HAVE TO SPEND YOUR TIME COMPELLING INDIVIDUALS TO DO THE JOB THAT YOU CONTRACTED FOR, ONLY TO HAVE POOR QUALITY WORKMANSHIP AFTER REPEATED FAILED EFFORTS, THEN SCHMAL FLOORING IS THE COMPANY FOR YOU. JOSEPH SCHMAL WAS THE PERSON THAT WE DEALT WITH AND HE WAS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL: HE USUALLY ARRIVED ABOUT AN HOUR LATER THAN STATED, IF AT ALL; HE HAD A TOTALLY LAISSEZ FAIRE ATTITUDE ABOUT THE FACT THAT HIS WORKERS COMPLETELY MESSED UP OUR FLOORS; AND THEN AFTER ALL OF THIS, JOSEPH SHOWED UP ON THE LAST DAY OF WORK WITH AN INVOICE FOR THE FULL PRICE AND WANTED PAYMENT ON THE SPOT. AFTER THREE FAILED ATTEMPTS TO TRY AND GET THE POLYURETHANE APPLICATION TO DRY SMOOTHLY AND EVENLY, IT STILL WAS DISMAL FAILURE FOR WHICH JOSEPH TOOK NOT RESPONSIBILITY. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO ENDURE LOTS OF HEADACHES.
