I have used RFH & Associates several times as a buyer and have been absolutely thrilled with their services. Gregg is extremely through and responsive, and makes sure that the buyer understands clearly what he is looking for and observing during his inspections. He turns around a clear and detailed report very quickly, and provides great information to help the buyer understand what projects or costs might be ahead. I think he is fair and realistic when inspecting older or vintage homes, and has great respect and appreciation for quality construction and home maintenance. A great resource during the often stressful home buying process.

It went well. He did a very detail job. I would recommend him to anyone looking to purchase a home.

Gregg has inspected 4 properties for us over the last six years and has inspected several more for family and friends of ours. I really can not recommend Gregg highly enough. He is very thorough, prompt, professional and honest and we recommend him to everyone we know. He has also been available for follow-up questions on issues that have been identified during the inspection period, even months or years after the inspection. When Gregg has inspected a property for us, I feel totally confident in our decision to move ahead with negotiations (or not move ahead, as has been the case may be).
One of the things I appreciate most about Gregg's work is that while he is very thorough, he also takes a realistic approach to inspecting homes and recognizes that most properties have *some* inspection issues. He's not a fear-monger and doesn't set out to "kill the deal" like some inspectors I have heard stories about.
I believe his fees to be reasonable and probably the best money we've spent in the home-buying process. I wholeheartedly recommend this company.

Gregg had done my home inspection 4.5 years ago and I remembered the thorough job he did. He provided a detailed write-up of everything he found, along with digital photos of any and all issues that easily tied back to the write-up. Based on this experience, I knew Gregg would be the perfect person to reach out to for my mysterious water leak.
The water leak was in my 1st story condo unit above a bedroom door frame (weird place for a leak) and for some strange reason it was NOT affecting the 2nd or 3rd floor units and was only occurring after some thunderstorms. I had already reached out to a roofing provider and he was unable to provide any clarity on the situation as he could not see any visible issues with the roof. He recommended I reach out to a home inspector to come out with a moisture meter. That's when I immediately thought of Gregg.
Gregg came out this morning and took a very thorough look both inside my unit, in the basement, and outside on the sides of the building, the roof, and the chimney. At each step of the way, he explained to me what he was finding on the moisture meter and what he felt the issues might be. He showed me around on the roof and pointed out each of the issues he found and he always follows-up with a thorough write-up and gave me a solid picture of what the next steps would be. He even saw some unrelated issues along the way and provided some additional "freebie" advice!
I would never hesitate to recommend Gregg to anyone and everyone who is in need of a home inspector. He is incredibly knowledgeable, he can explain everything he's doing end-to-end which provides ease of mind, and you can't beat the value you get for what he charges.

Gregg was very accommodating when we were scheduling our pre-home purchase inspection. He was prompt and even started the inspection before we got there. The report came quickly, well within the time frame he gave and his price was better than most of the alternatives. The report was very detailed and easily read. If I have the need for future inspections I'll very likely give Gregg a call.

Gregg was very thorough in his inspection. He identified one issue that effected all of the units in our building. He went through all the mechanicals and other features of the condo to make sure that they worked properly. I would use RFH & Assoc. again.

After we received his report, we carefully chose what we wanted addressed to the seller side. They said they would issue a 15,000 credit and that is it. We knew based on the laundry list of things terribly neglected or wrong that that amount was insignificant compared to the reality of the work to be done. Not only did we back out, but we ran away from that deal. It didn't take an expert to know that mold was within the walls on every level of the home. Gregg pointed out drywall seams, rust on lintels, rust in glass block windows, mold in shower, huge gaps between tile and wall in all bathrooms, no weeps and no drainage system outside, large cracks in sidewalk, the ejector pump overflowed while we were there because he was running the tub- he checks everything and knows everything. It was the best 450.00 we have ever spent. If we have to do this again, we will only choose him as our inspector.

This guy was great. He inspected our home we were selling and a home we had put a bid in on. He is extremely thorough. In fact, he found so much wrong with the house we had bid on it helped us to decide to cancel the deal. We were grateful that we can rely on his honesty and plan on using him again. I am told all the Realtors in the area don't like it when he is used since he kills so many deals.

Greg showed up earlier than our scheduled time the day after Thanksgiving. He got started inspecting the exterior before I arrived. When I showed up, I found him on the roof. He explained to me what he was looking for & what conditions led to the current condition of the roofing materials. He then came down & noted some serious concerns about large amounts of water damage to the west wall of the home. The wall also seemed to be bulging. He also caught broken glass block windows. Evidence of significant structural issues were inside. Floors seemed to be sinking. He offered the use of a really good structural engineer but warned of cost. He checked the attic, breaker box, furnace, gas leaks, plumbing, appliances. I didn't buy the home based on the report. Not 1000% as thorough as I would've liked but 100% for sure. Greg is very knowledgeable with many years of GC work behind him. He's very personable.

Rich was on time, friendly, and thorough. He had us follow him through the inspection so we could see everything that he was doing. He carefully explained all his findings to us, and answered all of our questions with patience.

Rich was terrific to work with - made a special effort to fit us into his busy schedule, on his typical day off. Returned calls promptly, delivered his final detailed report the very next day, as promised. He found a number of issues that we hadn't noticed during our pre-contract walk throughs, and we ultimately decided not to purchase the property - it required much more work than the sellers had claimed. Somewhat more expensive than other quotes we received, and well worth the price!

RICH WAS PROMPT, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND PLEASANT. HE ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS, AND EXPLAINED HOW VARIOUS COMPONENTS OF THE HOME OPERATE, AND WHAT MAINTENANCE MAY BE REQUIRED.

I HAD AN OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE WITH EVERY INSPECTION. ALWAYS ON TIME, REASONABLY PRICED, AND EASY TO SCHEDULE, RICH ALSO RETURNS INSPECTION REPORTS THE SAME OR NEXT DAY. EACH REPORT IS ORGANIZED, IN DEPTH, AND SHOWS WHAT SHOULD BE REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY AND WHAT CAN BE DEFERRED. HE ALSO HAS A WEALTH OF RESOURCES FOR CONTRACTORS WHO CAN COMPLETE REPAIRS. EXCELLENT SERVICE.
