JOB WELL DONE! Redstone Builders did an excellent job remodeling my outdated bathroom. Howard, representative and owner, directly supervised my project from start to finish. From overseeing daily progress, on time start, to finally touches to my bathroom! Always professional and on time(this is a sticking point for me. To be a professional in any field, means being on time and on schedule). He was also flexible when I requested a change in my project. It was done quickly and to my satisfaction. I will be hiring Redstone again!

I think the work they did was strong. Like with any contracting project there were a few hiccups but the end result was great in both projects.

They did a fine, very fine job in replacing the siding and trim with an everlasting material that would benefit me for a long period of time. The workman was pleasant, and Howard would come by to check on the work and I was very pleased with their job.

Howard is the head of the company and I was very confident in him. The manager of our HOA who is very knowledgeable praised the work and material used to rebuild my deck. I will highly recommend and absolutely use them, again.

The process went very well. Howard came very quickly after I called and gave me an estimate and work began within a few days. The workers were very courteous and considerate of the need for people to come in and out of the front door while they were working. The quality of the work was excellent. They cleaned up the area every day when they left.

Howard and his whole crew were fantastic. I think we were a little picky about the design and paint schemes, but Howard's crew made it work for us and the porch looks really lovely. Plus, it looks like it's always been there, not like an addition. The carpenters worked hard to capture the essence of our original porch (from 1895) and the painter was very careful to match the original color scheme of the house. We could not be happier!

I am 100% satisfied. From the very beginning, Howard demonstrated his committment to the project. It involved gutting two kitchens down to the studs, gutting bedrooms, installing new cabinets, installing kitchen fixtures (dishwasher, sink, garbage disposal), installing all new solid wood doors including locks, installing windows, insulation, a concrete sidewalk, a new exterior staircase, electrical work including recessed lighting and new outlets, refinishing the hardwood floors throughout. I’m probably leaving out some work but this is a list of the bulk of the work. My wife and I are 100% satisfied with the quality of Howard’s work. I am impressed with how clean and organized the work area was at the end of each workday. Howard’s team of workers were professional, courteous, and helpful in solving work related issues. Debris that was stored temporarily in our garage was also carefully organized and consolidated. When the debris was hauled away, the garage floor was swept and tidy. Howard is easy to talk to and he is flexible with changes that I made to the scope along the way. For example, after his workers began demo work I asked to reconfigure a closet opening. The next day his crew was making the change and it turned out better than I had planned. Howard completed the job on time and on budget. There was not even one small “extra” charge to the original contract. In fact, he did extra work that was not in the Scope. For example, a wood winder stair sustained damage at some point in time – before I bought the building. I lived with the damaged stair because I did not think it could be fixed without ripping up a large portion of the staircase. I didn’t even ask to have it repaired but Howard brought it to my attention and said that he would figure out a way to repair it. He made a small opening underneath the stair, in the room below the staircase to gain access. This attention to detail really set Howard apart. The stairway is now 100% back to its original condition when it was built, probably about 90 to 100 years ago. I started rehabbing small (1 to 4 unit) buildings in about 1985. I’ve used many contractors over the years so I can say with a reasonable level of real life experience, that Redstone is the best contractor that I’ve worked with. I recommend Howard without reservation and without any qualifiers.

Howard was very helpful and provided his input to the project plan.  His carpenter was one of the most efficient that I have worked with and did an beautiful job... adding a couple extra touches to the end result.

They were excellent. They did a really good job, they came, the owner of redstone came to my house gave me an estimate to demolish a large closet that I have, until I got the person to do my closet, they took a long time but he honored the estimate that he gave me and it was very reasonable and he did the work in like four, five days, he was very good, I would highly recommend him. The cabinet net was also fabulous. Howard was excellent. His price was very good. He had made an agreement with me over phone before, gave me an estimate because I was looking for a cabinet closet designer. He did it within a week, he kept his agreement to finish within a week. Then the closet guy came in.

Howard was incredibly helpful and responsive. Very professional. Scheduled the work quickly. He worked hard to find the style that we wanted in the stair railings and brackets. When the railing was first installed, it was a little lower than we wanted (even though we had initially asked to have it low), and we changed our minds. He gladly re-installed it higher up. It looks great! Would definitely use again.

We decided to work with Howard at Redstone after seeing an article to which he contributed in a local magazine about rehab construction and pricing.   We were very impressed with his transparency and thoughtfulness.   A visit to a ongoing job site to discuss his work with the current owner sealed the deal.
Working from blue prints for our architect, Howard bidded a fair price and work proceeded during the winter as planned.   His team of trades people are exceptional craftsmen and a pleasure to work with.   Although we hit a few surprises -- not unusual for a project this size or a home this old -- Howard worked with us to negotiate fair and honest costs for the additional work, time and effort.
Now roughly four months after moving in, we are thoroughly enjoying the workmanship and have very little needed followup, if any.
Overall, we have happily provided Howard's name to others when asked for recommendations.

Howard came out promptly and gave us an estimate.  He wasn't the low bidder, but was competitive, and we were impressed by his professionalism.  He helped out with suggestions on how we could upgrade the rental property without spending more than rentals would recover. He agreed to pick up all materials (vanities, tile etc) from Home Depot for us.

Howard did not nickel and dime us.   He found and took care of several things that  he/we hadn't expected with little, if any, additional charge.  The work for the most part was well done, and  if we were dissatisfied with something, he got his people to take care of it to our satisfaction.  The apartment showed beautifully, afterward, and rented immediately.

Overall we were very happy.  There were some missed dates that meant we could not show as early as we wanted, therefore, the slightly lower rating on punctuality.

We are doing another apartment now and have ask Redstone to bid on it.

Howard showed up personally. He made sure everything on my list was done in a timely fashion.
The work was high quality and his co-worker Daniel was very nice and always on time.
When there was a misunderstanding he fixed it very quickly.

I have completed many large construction projects. This was by FAR the best experience I have ever had with a contractor.
From the outset Howard and team were extremely professional and flexible. I was juggling moving into the house with getting a pretty substantial project completed, this was both stressful and logistically challenging but with excellent communication and a strong commitment to getting things done the project went well.
I think about this in three stages:-

Design Stage - At the design phase Howard was very responsive and competitive, we met at the property several times and discussed various options with Howard taking the time to ensure I knew what I was doing, what needed doing - and also what really didn't. He came up with some creative ways to solve issues and reduce cost (with a better outcome)
Constrution stage - During the project the team were able to meet all of my needs and manage the day to day aspects of getting the work done - including managing contacting neighbors, dealing with condo boards etc. I am pretty picky and almost every item that was done was either exactly what I expected or better.
Snagging stage - the punchlist was short and quickly addressed with no complaining
.
To me the mark of a true professional is how problems are dealt with. This is where Howard excelled. We had significant issues with neighbor access and a verbally abusive neighbor on one side. Howard and his team remained extremely professional and took point on getting permission from a neighboring condo board supplying insurance etc. Where isues couldn't be resolved Redstone found creative solutions and worked around them. I subsequently had feedback from three other neighbors that they were impressed with the quality of the work, and the way it was completed, and asked for Redstone's details so they can use for future projects.

As a General Contractor Redstone was very responsive and did good quality work.  The were helpful in providing solutions to problems that came up during construction and were cooperative in making changes if something wasn't to my liking.  Were very good about keeping the worksite clean during construction and made it possible to occupy the premises during the entire project time.  They were especially good about keeping to schedule --competed project on time and within the estimated budget. I wanted to purchase  some specific items to be used--i.e., appliances, etc.- and had them on site before the project began..  Redstone's estimate allowed a credit for such items to make comparison with other estimates possible.

Howard is very nice.  He is very responsive and was easy to work with.  My old gutters were just not getting the job done and had caused some interior damage in one of the bedrooms.  Also, the downspout of the original gutter was located right next to the back steps, so every winter we got an ice slick. All the contractors I received an estimate from suggested oversized gutters and Redstone had the lowest quote and and also was the only one to offer to repair the interior damage.  The work was done quickly, within three days, and with no mess or difficulties. The men who came to do the work were nice and professional.  I got exactly what I wanted.  The gutters now drain all the water out into the front yard.  They look nice and do the job.  My wall was repaired and repainted and they did a good job with that as well.

Overall it went very well. Howard was responsible, easy to communicate with, and professional. His team was highly skilled and worked in a timely manner. The cost was quite reasonable. There was a lot done in the beginning, and towards the end it slowed down a little. Keeping communication open helped with this, and in the end everything was completed with quality. The major renovations were done within the estimated timeline, and the smaller odds and ends were done within a few weeks after the expected finish. Working with everyone from Redstone Builders was the best part of the entire renovation process.
