Working from blue prints for our architect, Howard bidded a fair price and work proceeded during the winter as planned. His team of trades people are exceptional craftsmen and a pleasure to work with. Although we hit a few surprises -- not unusual for a project this size or a home this old -- Howard worked with us to negotiate fair and honest costs for the additional work, time and effort.
Now roughly four months after moving in, we are thoroughly enjoying the workmanship and have very little needed followup, if any.
Overall, we have happily provided Howard's name to others when asked for recommendations.
Howard came out promptly and gave us an estimate. He wasn't the low bidder, but was competitive, and we were impressed by his professionalism. He helped out with suggestions on how we could upgrade the rental property without spending more than rentals would recover. He agreed to pick up all materials (vanities, tile etc) from Home Depot for us.
Howard did not nickel and dime us. He found and took care of several things that he/we hadn't expected with little, if any, additional charge. The work for the most part was well done, and if we were dissatisfied with something, he got his people to take care of it to our satisfaction. The apartment showed beautifully, afterward, and rented immediately.
Overall we were very happy. There were some missed dates that meant we could not show as early as we wanted, therefore, the slightly lower rating on punctuality.
We are doing another apartment now and have ask Redstone to bid on it.
The work was high quality and his co-worker Daniel was very nice and always on time.
When there was a misunderstanding he fixed it very quickly.
From the outset Howard and team were extremely professional and flexible. I was juggling moving into the house with getting a pretty substantial project completed, this was both stressful and logistically challenging but with excellent communication and a strong commitment to getting things done the project went well.
I think about this in three stages:-
Design Stage - At the design phase Howard was very responsive and competitive, we met at the property several times and discussed various options with Howard taking the time to ensure I knew what I was doing, what needed doing - and also what really didn't. He came up with some creative ways to solve issues and reduce cost (with a better outcome)
Constrution stage - During the project the team were able to meet all of my needs and manage the day to day aspects of getting the work done - including managing contacting neighbors, dealing with condo boards etc. I am pretty picky and almost every item that was done was either exactly what I expected or better.
Snagging stage - the punchlist was short and quickly addressed with no complaining
.
To me the mark of a true professional is how problems are dealt with. This is where Howard excelled. We had significant issues with neighbor access and a verbally abusive neighbor on one side. Howard and his team remained extremely professional and took point on getting permission from a neighboring condo board supplying insurance etc. Where isues couldn't be resolved Redstone found creative solutions and worked around them. I subsequently had feedback from three other neighbors that they were impressed with the quality of the work, and the way it was completed, and asked for Redstone's details so they can use for future projects.
