It was pretty boilerplate with mold and remediation. You get mold and they have to cut it out. That's what they did. It is not hard to just undo something.
The entire perimeter of the roof was completely rotted and moldy. What was originally supposed to be a 2 day project took the span of the summer. Throughout the course of the project, we had PuroClean come out at different iterations. Here is why they were great:
1. Patience: Unfortunately, we were at the mercy of weather and the roofing company - neither of which were terribly reliable. PuroClean worked around a hectic schedule.
2. Reliability: PuroClean always maintained the aforementioned schedule. Allen was always very patient with our hectic scheduling. Their crew were always on time when scheduled. Their owner visited our house on 3 different occasions to inspect.
3. Clean: That was especially important to my wife. Give what they do, the rooms were always clean upon their workers leaving each day.
4. Quality: Work was done thoroughly and properly.

Four-man crew arrived promptly with Scott, the Proprietor. Scott supervised the team leader before leaving and provided paperwork and warranty after.

As you can imagine many homes in the surrounding area were in a similar state, so the process was done in stages so other homes could be aided. Over the next several days, they evacuated the sewage, set up protective barriers to protect us and our animal (cat), disinfected, tore out drywall, tore out flooring, helped us move out all of the destroyed furniture, etc... This was a very trying process for us (emotionally and physically). Scott and team were professional, empathetic, and always did what they said there were going to. While they were a great group of people, and a pleasure to do business with, my husband told Scott we hope never to have to call him again (as that would mean disaster struck again).

I was very pleased with the professionalism of Scott and his crew. While I hope to never have to deal with mold remediation again, should it ever be necessary, we will use PuroClean to do the work. I highly recommend their work.

I called and got an immediate response and estimate and arranged to get the
floor in HVAC area and closet removed. I had to get the HVAC unit taken out first
and got that done by the company I bought it from.
On October 3rd the work was done -what a job.
All the old flooring removed and taken away from the building.
Area cleaned up and fans installed. The gentleman came back
Friday and checked for moisture and put the dehumidifiers in
for over the weekend. Came back Monday and removed them.
What an outstanding job.

Scott is very knowledgeable and is also patient in explaining the various steps in the process, so that the customer understands what is being done. He also was very helpful in recommending and coordinating with other contractors, as I needed the water heater and furnace replaced very quickly. Because he is known to, and respected by, the other contractors, they were willing to accommodate our needs and do the work quickly, even given the circumstances (mold present in the basement) and the timing (Christmas holiday season).
In mold remediation work, there is a lot of equipment required, and the electrical system in my 100-year-old house was not up to the challenge. This made things difficult for Puroclean, but they developed a workaround and were patient despite the delay and the fact that the work extended through the new year.
Scott's team, including the team leader on site, David, were very professional, friendly, helpful and understanding. This was a big undertaking, requiring a lot of physical work and professional expertise. I am a very grateful and happy customer.

"I appreciate Member's feedback, and I am disappointed that I did not get a A report from this project. During my evaluation we discussed his options and although I cannot specifically recall discussing replacement of the drywall, I provided him with a written field scope and estimate. Before he signed the field scope I went line by line with him explaining what we will do and then the total price. The field scope did not include rebuilding the drywall. I do apologize if I failed to set his expectations as to our services. I have updated my paperwork to check off on discussing options for rebuild services so as not to have this become an issue with future clients."
