It really isn't clear to us why they couldn't figure out that a wall oven would be in a wall of cabinets (frankly, I have never seen a wall oven as a free standing cabinet) and send two people if that is what is required.
When they came to install the part, they also completely disassembled the door and installed new hinges. When they added up the bill, the cost of having the door repaired -- something I hadn't asked for -- was over $400! That was in addition to the $400 to fix the problem I had called them about! They never said a single word, never quoted me any cost, never asked for permission. I'm terribly sorry, but that is not right. He should have given me a quote on the work over and above what I asked him to to. In total, I paid over $1,000 (which includes paying them to come to my house twice) and had to take three mornings off work to have my stove repaired. I feel taken advantage of.
When I called and complained, the repairman told me that he had told me explicitly that he could not have repaired the stove without repairing the door because it was a safety issue. I will swear upon all that is holy that those words never, never came out of his mouth.
That said, when they put the oven back together, they installed the rack guides upside down, which made cooking Thanksgiving dinner a bit of a hassle. But when I called and told them, they came out the next Friday and made it right. All told, it was 6 weeks to get the oven back in operating form.
I'm disappointed. I wish this had gone better. I don't like having to write a negative review.
I would absolutely call this company again.
A few other reviewers have mentioned price, and I'll admit to a little sticker shock when I saw the high hourly rates and the amount of the service charge. I paid just over $1200 for three visits (they identified an additional issue on their first visit, apart from my complaint, which they came back a different day to fix, plus a third visit that I'll mention below). I think they're worth the cost, though, for the following reasons:
- they know what they're doing. Our initial hires of other lower-rate contractors were a waste of money, because they were taking a stab at a project that they, in the end, didn't know how to fix. Even the receptionist expressed understanding of the problem we were having by indicating that she'd received similar calls for similar appliances.
- they work hard. Both techs that we had out were practically running back and forth to their van. This is not the proverbial "eat a sandwich while at your home" repair company.
- they stand by their work. our microwave was shorting out after they came to fix it, so I had them back. They ran a series of tests, and found out that the problem was my circuit breaker, not their microwave repair. And they didn't charge me, even though I deserved it. As you can imagine, that meant a lot to me.
