Peter, Araceli, Janet, and Jésus were all amazingly responsive and flexible. Jésus took great care in protecting the property, arrived promptly each day and sometimes worked late to keep the project moving forward. They were even able and willing to accommodate us when we had scheduling problems with the locksmith. Thank you so much to the team! Not to mention that the doors look SO much better! Thank you!

They did a great job! We needed to refinish our 2 lobby doors that are original to our 100 year old building (built in 1914) so we wanted the best service possible to make sure it looked good. Peter's delivered in very way! The doors look brand new. We couldn't be happier!

Peter's removed the paint, finished the frames and sills to match the new windows. They cleaned up everything nicely, and everything looks beautiful now.

I can unequivocally recommend Peter’s Wood Refinishing for interior wood restoration. They know their stuff and are straightforward in the advice and recommendations they offer. We initially sought a front door restoration quote from Peter’s, but once we met Araceli and saw her demeanor and knowledge of the work, we asked her that same day to give us a quote on stripping/refinishing the wood trim throughout the common areas of our 3BR apartment, to include the baseboards, crown molding, multiple doorframes, and picture hanger trim. Detail-oriented and keen to coordinate on ultimate results (including the stain color for some hard-to-strip/match birch) and post-job follow-up, Peter’s crew showed up on time and ready to work for what became a 2-3 week job that was worth every penny considering the character and soul the restoration brought back to our once-bland, painted-over space. Hats off to Peter’s Wood Refinishing – just can’t recommend them enough.

If I could give Peter's 6 stars I would! I couldn't be happier with the experience I had working with Peter's Wood Refinishing! I contacted several companies and got estimates of repair costs well into the $1,000s. We did initially hire another contractor who cancelled on us at the very last minute. At this point I was desperate, I had promised our landlord it would be repaired before his new tenants moved in and only had 5 days to make good on this promise! Peter's to the rescue! They did the repair on short notice, dealt with the unusual circumstance that I wouldn't be there for the repair, worked around the real estate agents schedule to enter the unit, repaired the cabinet with no one on scene AND did it for 1/2 the cost of other quotes we had gotten. The results couldn't be better! Thank you Peter's Wood Refinishing for everything!

All pieces and jobs were done very well and the great thing is that this company cleans up after themselves and leaves the area in good condition.

We could not be more happy with the work. Peters closed off the area they were working in and covered everything they could with plastic so there ended up being hardly any dust in our house. The entire project took 3 days, which we felt was very fast. Overall, the refinishing was perfect. The hutch had little crevices and intricate details and they were not over looked. Peters went above and beyond by installing the shelves and even fixed one that we had broken in half. Not only did they fix the shelves, but they also took out each drawer in the hutch and fixed the bottoms so there would be no gap. The overall experience with Peters was exceptional, we could not recommend them enough.

I have used Peter's for over 8 years. Initially, they installed and stained oak floors in a house that my wife and I rehabbed. In addition I have had cabinets refinished and furniture repaired by Peter's . I am very satisfied by the results and workmanship.

It was an amazing process in efficiency, responsiveness and professionalism. They are very competent and are incredibly responsive to everything we need. On top of that, Peter and Ariselli are great people who treat their employees and customers well. They were the first to be here, first to leave, and when time became a crunch made it work with more employees. I recommend them over any other wood refinishing customer in Chicago.

I was very happy with the work done, the tables are beautiful! Francesca was always very attentive and helpful. I was concerned since they are family heirlooms but Peter's Wood Refinishing took excellent care of my tables. The price was very reasonable and they finished them when I needed them done. I will definitely return to them in the future and would recommend them to anyone.

We hired Peters Wood Refinishing for projects involving stripping and restoring painted doors, trim and other vintage woodwork. Each project had different challenges and Peters was able to handle all of them. Their workers were great and the projects were completed on time which was important because the wood refinishing was part of larger rehab projects. Most important the quality of the work was superior. I’ve had neighbors comment on how good the exterior doors turned out. And given their thoughtful attention to detail I am confident these restored wood elements will wear well and will be protected for many years.

Great! Peter's was able to repair some badly damaged doors that we thought were irreparable. The process took a bit longer but the results were worth it!

The team at Peter's was professional, very attentive and clearly explained the options we'd have for refinishing the doors. Our project was somewhat weather dependent and they were in very close contact when weather was iffy and the project had to be put on hold for a day or two. Friendly and easy to work with! Very pleasant and professional experience right from the start. The folks at Peter's Wood Refinishing were polite and very accommodating when scheduling an appointment for the estimate. The actual estimate process was friendly and professional, no pressure sales. All work processes and refinishing product options were explained in detail. Very knowledgeable in the refinishing process. Prices offered were better than I had anticipated. The two-man refinish crew showed up on time and completed the project in one day as promised. The refinish crew was very polite, efficient and professional. The refinish process normally kicks up a lot of dust from all the sanding, however the crew made good efforts at containing the dust to a minimum. The job was completed and cleaned up as best as possible. I would highly likely use Peters Wood Refinishing for any future projects and would recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Peter's guys did a fantastic job. The door looks great. From coming out for the estimate to the actual work, Peter's Wood Refinishing was on time and professional. They protected the foyer and outside porch while working. I would highly recommend them.

Peter and his staff were extremely professional. They refinished our kitchen cabinets as well as some of our hardwood floors, including stairs. They were helpful in helping us select the color cabinets that were right for our kitchen, their staff were prompt and courteous throughout the on-site refinishing process and they did an excellent job in cleaning up when they were finished. Peter's prices are very affordable for the quality of the work they provide. We intend to use them in the future and would highly recommend their services.
