Response from OLYMPIC FURNITURE
"The member's statement is not true and I will respond to the accusations point by point. We are in business since 1991 and through all those years I have never experience this type of problems with my clients. I always stay in touch with my clients, most of my new projects are clients recommended by others. Back to the member 1. Our contract states "no electrical or plumbing work is included" 2. We never order nor do we pay for any customers appliance- this is not our job 3. Customer saw and approved drawings of the cabinets and the layout before making deposit 4. Openings for refrigerator and stove were correct and approved by customer 5. We used new plywood under the cabinets and new shims but customer insisted on using pressure treated plywood and no shims at all. 6. We could not communicate or suggest anything because we always were interrupted by the member as fallow " No Discussion! Just do it or you fired." 7. Her deadline is nowhere in the contract. Yet, we were able to removed soffits and old plaster, install 10 sheets of new drywall (we were only for 7), patched it and sanded. Starting on Friday and finish on Sunday (we normally do not work on Sundays but wanted to be helpful for the customer.) All for the cost of $600.00. 8. All copies of receipts were included with the final payment. Total of $269 for the material I bought for the customer. 9. One day the member stopped us at 1pm and told us to come back at 4am or of course we were fired. 10. After all the work was done customer refused to pay full contracted amount. Her explanation to that was that she was doing part of the work by supervising us. (that only proves that everything was done as she requested). To finally finish the dispute we agreed to settlement by giving customer discount of $1248.50. 11. Customer acknowledged by signature satisfactory completion of all work. 12. Two weeks after completion of the job the member called me and demanded to replace one of the cabinets at my cost because she wants now different size cabinet. I think everybody understands that when the cabinets are ordered and installed they belong to the customer. All the changes should be done before ordering. 13. On my office voice mail she left me a message that if I will not do so she will report me to Angie's List, the BBB, local Menards, Home Deport, Abt. etc. I refused I can't afford to pay for customer's new cabinets. And here we are... As shown above, I think the member owes me apologies but I am not looking forward to that. And really the member got beautiful kitchen cabinets for a very attractive price."
