Just terrific.

I don't even speak this language, so having him doing all the designs and figure out what walls to come down and what color and style the floor should be - I had no idea and, while I was working on a budget, the place came out so beautifully - I trust Michael Richman's taste, his connections, his eye, his manner of dealing with people.  Even the "beaded" door I envisioned (the one thing I envisioned) ... he also travelled with me even to pick out a toilet. 

I was writing a negative review of the contractor (who I have serious money problems with - I paid him more than the contract said and he still feels I owe him more) and it reminded me that, to be fair, I should also give credit to where credit is due, and write a positive review for the people that I did really appreciate.  -- I would never use anyone else but Michael Richman again as my interior designer.  Moreover, I stake my reputation on my recommendation of him to you - in any city!  I have the pictures if you need to back it up!

$900-1000 retainer SInce we were on a set fee, we really were not given adequate attention. Richman is a talented and busy man who has branched out to a lower income population on a set rate vs hourly. He just put together our living room without much thought. We put in a order for what we were sure about. He lost the order. I had to hunt him down to get it. He never responded to some paint question I had. He never sent out pricing for some other items. By the time he followed up I was no longer interested.
