We used Marguerite Gardens for landscaping our front and back yards and some annual yard work and clean-up.  We had been loyal and regular customers for years.  Their landscaping crew is really excellent; hard-working, prompt and efficient.  My problem is with management.  Plants were planted that were not discussed or at the wrong time of year; and other work that was supposed to be done did not get done as scheduled.  Their invoices would reflect incorrect billing and over-charges.  When these problems were brought to their attention, they were hostile about correcting their mistakes.  I would not work with them because of their poor customer service and repeated errors.  It is not worth the trouble.

We could not be more happy with this company and will definitely use them again!  Marguerite herself was lovely to work with, and provided a design plan for planting our roof deck and a balcony off of our living room, as well as adding a gate to the fence on our roof deck to provide easier access to our utilities.  When her estimate came in a bit over our budget for this year, she was completely flexible and reworked it to meet our needs (we decided to do just the roof plantings for this year).  When the scheduled work day came, her team was punctual, courteous and very professional, and they did not complain at all about the six flights of stairs (no elevator!) to get to our deck.   All of the work was completed in less than a day, and the results are even better than we could have hoped - the plantings are beautiful, the containers are heavy and very sturdy (important b/c we get high winds on our deck) and the design is practical too, as it shields some of the less attractive parts of our deck from the seating area, but preserves our great view of the city skyline.  Once Marguerite was sure we were happy, she sent us a final invoice that was actually a bit under her estimate (when does that every happen??).  Although the work was not cheap, I feel it was a good value; MGI's estimate was right in light with other estimates we received (we liked the other companies too, but preferred MGI's design and containers), and the containers are of such high quality that I believe we would have paid twice as much for them if we had to buy them ourselves at retail.  Overall, MGI is highly recommended.

Excellent! Marguerite is so passionate about what she does ... and she does it so well. She was great about working within my budget, really listened to our needs and helped me create an amazing space up on our roof! I was really excited about learning how to plant a great roof garden and she invited me to get as involved as I wanted to. I even met her at her nursery and helped pick out the plants! It was such a wonderful experience, she has great staff and our rooftop looks amazing! Thanks, Marguerite!

We've used them on a couple of occasions. We would absolutely recommend them and we were very happy with them. They did landscape our entire yard and rooftop decks. I was flabbergasted when they came in. They brought in like three truckloads of plants and they descended on the place and they were literally done with an entire landscape, front and backyard including parkway, in 1 1/2 hours. They brought a crew of 7 guys. They are kind of pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Plantings looked good all year. Marguerite Gardens prepped the planters for overwintering in the fall of 2009. The trees have survived into summer of 2010 although I had to water them during a hot April. They refreshed the annuals again in spring of 2010. The plants are healthy but I would have appreciated some more sophisticated design planning for the installation, especially for the price of the work that was done. The crews who have come to do the work are superb -- friendly and hard working. They cleaned up after the job. I have indicated that the service is expensive but I have no comparison.

This company came up with great designs and wonderful, unique, and mature plantings. I love gardening and was glad to be included in the plant selection process. The installation was very quick and fun to watch (these people love their work!) Our beautiful gardens have color and interest at every season of the year. The price tag is not small but the quality is superb.

We have been using this company for two years now. They meet our expectations. They have done a terrific job. They have a terrific staff, and they are very professional. When Marguerite did the initial estimate, she listened to us and was able to incorporate our ideas and hers well into the final landscaping.
