Asked for deck quote. Already had architectural plans. Sent and never heard back. Zero follow through.

Would I use Just Decks again? Yes, most definitely. Marek (owner) was very easy to work with and had some great ideas. I thought we worked well together as we planned the deck and water feature. I found his responses to questions and phone calls to be prompt, thorough and professional.
Quality of work - very good. They were completing the deck as the snow was literally falling and were present every day to meet their deadline. My neighbors have all been quite impressed and my wife and I are very happy. Marek was not particularly happy with a small item on the electrical work (I had no problem with the item), but he insisted the electrical contractor come back and make a minor modification. If he isn?t satisfied with something, he?ll tell you and he?ll deal with it quickly. Our deck is on top of our garage and Marek?s team was also able to make some minor repairs to my garage roof. This was very convenient and allowed me to work with only one contractor.
Timeliness for completing work - they were within the timeframe they predicted (allowing for weather). Again, my ongoing communication with Marek allowed me to stay well informed of their plans and timing.
Professionalism of the crew - very good. They did nice work, were courteous, made some suggestions, and cleaned up when the job was finished. Overall, they did a nice job. He has some very good guys on the crew.
Overall, an excellent job. I would highly recommend JustDecks Inc.

mark and his team were great to work with. He was always responsive and was very flexible in meeting our needs. We are thrilled with our new deck and would certainly use Just Decks again. Not only do they perform high quality work, but they offer very competitive pricing.

I asked Just Decks to come out and give me an estimate on 2 projects. One was a wooden deck that needs to be powerwashed, cleaned and re-stained. The second was a composite deck that I asked if they could scrub it and make it pretty again after 10 years of wear. On that deck we have 4and quot; x 8and quot; wooden planters that needed to either be fixed and restained or rebuilt.

After they sent out their inspector and he took pictures, I just heard from them today. They REFUSED to do what I asked! I cannot believe in this economy that any provider would see any job too small. They recommended that the wooden deck be torn out and replaced to the tune of $2,200 and the composite deck replaced for $5,800! What a joke!

I asked for them to clean and restain the wood deck - estimate $499. Clean the composite deck - $400. Remake the planters - $400 each. All of this was reasonable and within my budget. They literally refused to do what I asked!! Whatever happened to and quot;the customer is always right?and quot; I am convinced that they saw my and quot;littleand quot; job as non important and would only come to my home if they could suck more money out of me. The decks are both in great shape and I just wanted them to be cleaned and to have new life in them.

I am going to find another deck contractor in Chicago who will not try to extort money from me for my future home jobs. I would ask Angie's List to place this contractor in THE PENALTY BOX for misrepresentation of their services.

They just wanted more money and refused me because they think my job was not significant enough.

I called and left two voice mail messages and neither call was returned. I finally sent them an email, which was returned. But in the email, they said before they come, they wanted me to send them plat of survey, photos, dimensions and so forth. THIS JUST SCREAMS LAZY! If I'm going to pay a contractor $75,000 to $100,000, I want my contractor to drive to my house and take interest. My house is less than two miles from my home. I was not even planning on getting another quote. Their loss I guess.

The company had come highly recommended from a neighbor with the exact same floor plan as our condo, and had completely replaced their deck, exactly what we were looking to do.
I filled out a contact request on their website, and waited a week. After hearing no response, I sent a follow up email, which was promptly replied to by Marek, the president of the company. He asked for some follow up info, including photos of the property, which I sent to him a few days later. That was on July 27th. It is now September 16th and I have not heard anything from them. I sent a follow up email on August 5th asking for an update. Then another email on August 20th. Finally I called their office and left a message on September 10th. Still absolutely no response whatsoever.
It's unfortunate since our neighbor had given such high praise, but one email in almost two months despite repeated follow ups, when I'm looking to pay a few thousand dollars to get a job done, very difficult for me to recommend working with this company.

Found this company thru Internet search and filled out contact page on website. Someone contacted me and scheduled an appt via email which I found very convenient. The owner arrived for the appt and discussed in great detail our project. He clearly has extensive knowledge of Chicago code and also has great design ideas. My wife and I worked with the architect for about two weeks before we finalised the design for our new roof deck. Once we put down a deposit our project was in the construction queue and in a few weeks the crew arrived to begin our project. From initial contact to completion it took about 6 weeks but it was well worth the wait. The owner, Mark, did a great job communicating with us thru each step of the project and he was always available to meet on site or via cell phone when we had questions. My wife and I could not be happier with the quality and craftsmanship - the finished product is fantastic. We would not hesitate to recommend this company to friends and family! The owner was on top of things and did a great design for me. The people who worked knew what they were doing and did an excellent job. Their pricing was very reasonable and they gave me a good deal as we paid them by cash, and the end result was very good. I’m not an easy customer to please but I was very satisfied with their service.

They did a beautiful job. They are a little bit hard to get ahold of, because they have a long waiting list. They sent us a contract. They cleaned up after themselves very well.

The project went very well, overall. We were pleased with the effort Marek put into the drawings and he was one of the few porch designers/builders that encouraged us to go with our initial center stairwell choice versus two separate stairwells. The city approved our permit on the first pass, which I believe is a testament to the respect and familiarity they have with Just Deck's designs. The project took a total of seven weeks, which was a little longer than expected due to rainy weather. Marek's crew was easy to work with and did a professional job. The crew consisted of up to five workers and they remained on our project for the entire seven weeks. Marek was on site several times during the construction and was very good about small items that needed addressed. We received no complaints from any neighbors during construction and Marek's crew did a great job cleaning up the back yard when the project was complete. The price we paid for the porch was very competitive and the fact that Marek also did the porch design allowed for an overall cheaper price and an easier construction versus having a separate architect. I would definitely use Just Decks again for any deck or porch projects, especially in the city of Chicago where the new porch codes are best navigated by someone who does this every day and understands what the city requires.

I liked that they made sure it was up to code and that it would pass the city inspection. These decks are very common in Chicago. The contractors that came out were experts in their field and they had the job done in a very timely manner.

As you can see from other reviews, Just Decks seems to have a policy of not returning calls requesting a quote if they are not interested in the job. Obviously it is their prerogative to not accept a job, but it is highly unprofessional to not return calls.

I love working with Marec and everyone at Just Decks. They did the entire job in two weeks (weather delayed us for four days). They worked from early morning to late evening but were respectful of our neighbors. Demolition of the concrete was done quickly and they hauled everything away. Building of the porch, columns and roof was done quickly but professionally. Painting was done along with detailed contrasting paint that added even more drama to the new front. Our house looks like a new place. We love working with Marec and everyone at Just Decks! I highly recommend them.

If a representative of a company is that unprofessional on the phone-- imagine how he is in person!

Marek and his crew were fabulous. The design process was interesting - and he managed to provide us with a nice design that includes great features but is very functional. The work crew was amazing. They showed up on time, worked on our job from start to finish, respected our property and most importantly - they did an amazing job! The finished deck looks better than I could ever have imagined.

Just Decks failed to meet multiple scheduled appointments. They will waste your time if you give them a chance to.

I CALLED THEM 3 TIMES TO GET A QUOTE. THEY NEVER RETURNED MY CALL.
