We have an ongoing relationship with them.

One of my dogs is now receiving proper medication to help control kidney issues, with great success. The other younger dog is doing very well. The vets and technicians are all really wonderful with clients and pets.

I have used them before and I would go back.  They are very friendly, professional and affordable.  They are local.  It is nice and clean.

I think they're pretty good. We paid $600 for each cat. They're all right and I don't have any complaints.

Since we just moved to the Lincoln Square area I discovered Jewel Veterinary right on Lincoln. The team is awesome, the exam rooms are like living rooms, really making an effort to reduce the stress on the dogs, Doc was great he sat with us on the couch and talked with us and played with our dogs. I would send everybody there. Madison and Dexter were relaxed when they left.

They were so freaking expensive. This is very silly and petty but one time, I was one pill short, I had a whole bunch of animals at the time, I went in, I picked up the pill and I started to walk out and they said, no, no, no you have to pay for it, and I was like, really for one pill?! I went back and paid for it. It occurred to me that I was supposed to get thirteen pills and I only got twelve, they could have thought, let the person have the extra pill but they didn't let me. It was just very, very expensive. They misdiagnosed, they told me my cat had a cracked tooth that went up to her sinuses and was infecting her brain, this and that and all that stuff that they wanted to do to her, and I said no way, it was too expensive, I couldn't have done that. They told me to go see Dr. Andy and that is how I found him and he said she has an upper respiratory infection, here's a shot, go home and that was it! She has been doing fine since. One time we had kittens and one of the kittens either jumped or fell off the second floor and was crying and laying there, we scooped him up and ran in there and he had a broken hip and they were acting as if it was just a tiny little chip because they had all their regular patients lined up. I was like I didn't plan this emergency! I ended up taking my kitten to a surgical center. I grabbed the cat, I drove off there, and I told them I would pay them when I get back from the emergency and they called my home for the payment while I was taking the cat up. I had been going to them for I don't know how long, they had an extensive history with us and the fact that they couldn't wait for me to get back with the cat to call them with the credit card number, that they had to call my father and tell him I owed them. However, the people were so nice, they really were, and I loved the people. That is when we left them.

They are cheerful and competent. They were recommended.

Our 14 year old cat had a swollen face one morning. I called the vet and they fit me in that afternoon. Our poor kitty had an abscess tooth and had gotten a bad infection that was killing his skin underneath his chin. They were quite kind and unlike other vets I had gone to did offer up the option of euthanasia. They explain all of the step to me, my wife and the kids. There was some debate as to how he had gotten the hole underneath his chin. Recovery went well and almost a year later kitty is still with us reminding me we need to call Jewel for a follow up wellness visit for kitty.

Love Dr. Mitchell; he is kind and genuinely concerned about my dog's well being. My dog had a growth on his foot and Dr. Mitchell tried some medicine after doing some research. When the growth went away after a short time I think Dr. Mitchell was as happy as I was. I love their online services: you can make an appointment on line, order prescriptions and pull up your pet's records. I had been to another animal hospital before and they were not nearly as pet friendly. At Jewell you get the feeling that people there really are animal lovers. I got the recommendation for Jewell Animal Hospital from a dog owner at Puptown Dog Park. I am so happy that they sent me there; and I recommend them to all the other dog owners I meet.

I found Jewell when I was looking for a new vet. My senior cat (12+) was very ill and the veterinarian we had been going to for a few years was not responsive to test results, not following up, and was being generally unhelpful. The doctors at Jewell listened to me, reviewed test results, followed up and prescribed antibiotics and other medicines to help my pet. We also were referred to a specialist who was awesome. The care my pet received at Jewell was excellent and helped her overcome a serious infection and some complications. We continue to go there for veterinary care and they are always kind and helpful, trying to do what's best for the pet and really listening to my concerns as well. I have found them to be 30% less expensive than our previous vet with much better service and better care.

We needed a vet for our newly adopted shelter dog and decided on Jewell Animal Hospital after reading numerous reviews from different sources. It also helped that this place is close to our home and has parking. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted and attended to by a pleasant receptionist. We had to wait a little while, maybe 15 minutes in the waiting room, but didn't mind as it was quite comfortable and cozy. Our little dog was showered with doggie treats in the meantime. Soon we were called back to a bright, cheery exam room where a technician took a history and performed vital signs on our dog. She was not the least bit rushed, and answered many of our questions or offered to provide appropriate literature. After a few more minutes, Dr. Mitchell walked in and greeted us warmly. After thoroughly examining our dog, he answered our many questions in a non-rushed manner, and handed us several articles to address some of our concerns. He seemed to be very knowledgeable. Overall, we were impressed not only with everyone's friendliness and what seemed to be genuine warmth, but also with the amount of time spent with us. They care about the well-being of the animals AND the humans. The facillity is very clean and attractively decorated, and the costs are reasonable. They don't seem to push unnecessary procedures or products on you, even suggesting product purchase onlie. We were given a complementary package of doggy treats to take home. They also have a great website where you can access your pet's info and schedule appointments online.

My wife took the cats in and she really liked the veterinarian and the facility. The location is convenient and they have a parking lot which is nice since parking is difficult here. They were kind and caring.

When Dr. Jewell came in the exam room, he immediately got down on the floor to bond with our puppy and assure him everything was ok. Dr. J. also quickly assessed the demeanor and temperament of our dog and gave us advice for training in this formative stage. Our puppy even got to meet his first cat and some other dogs. We chose Jewell Animal Hospital because of other Angie's List recommendations as well as it's close to us and there's parking . We were pleased with the entire experience.

While we're still sorting out the cause, I've been very impressed with the compassionate care and concern for my cat and me by all the staff. Everyone from the front desk, to the techs, to the vets, genuinely loves animals and respects the role they play in owners' lives. My cat's a tough guy to get blood from, and it took two techs and Dr. Mitchell to hold him down; yet they did it so lovingly, talking with him and trying their best to soothe my little guy. Dr. Mitchell's been VERY responsive, returning calls quickly and even taking my call directly, answering my questions and not being in a hurry to get off the phone. They even give cats a little toy on their way out (they call it their version of a lollipop). Did I mention their free parking in the crowded Lincoln Square neighborhood? They're open til 7 pm most days and 5 pm on saturday.

Excellent. Both vets are great, and all of the techs are nice, caring people. We have been using them for several months for whatever health issues we have for our dog, and we could not be happier. Clean, cheery facility, too. Prices are fair.

He is great with the dogs. He is not stuffy. He immediately gets down on the floor with the dogs. He is really loving. You can tell he truly loves animals and spends a lot of time with them. I had three young children when I began going to him. He was very accommodating. He gave the kids treats before we would leave. He had an little area and books for the children. It is a nice environment and it is very clean.

Wonderful. Staff is attentive and friendly. Wait times for appointments are not long. The vet takes the proper time to diagnose the problem, and is excellent at following up. The vet and his techs always call for the next day or two to monitor the progress of my dog when he has been sick.

It did go well, but I thought I could have been told in advance that he would need extractions, so that was and was not a surprise because I think I knew due to his very bad breath. It is very expensive here and while Dr. Jewell is a friendly out-going guy, I felt that I was sometimes rushed or really did not know how to treat my dog. He was also not sensitive to cost and I explained that I was not in a good financial spot.

We brought our dog in for an initial checkup right after we adopted him from one of the rescue programs. Dr. Jewell said he was in great shape and so far that's been true. Great visit, the staff has a way with animals that puts them at ease in the vet's office.

We were impressed by Dr. Jewell on our first visit when he laid on his stomach on the floor to get eye-to-eye with our 7-week-old puppy. It's easy to tell that he and his staff really love dogs and care about them. He never rushes our appointments, answers all our questions and provides good advice on dog raising. And our dog loves the treats!

Dr. Jewell and staff were pleasant and thorough, taking a genuine interest in my cat. The visit was not rushed and I was able to ask all my questions and get answers. The antibiotic and creams prescribed resolved the issue with the chin acne within a week. This was the first time I brought in my cat to Jewell as I was new to the neighborhood. My previous veterinarian, who I wasn't truly happy with, kept trying to push a very expensive and possibly life-threatening (general anesthesia is necessary) dental cleaning on my 11 year cat. Upon examination, I asked Dr. Jewell if he concurred with the previous vet's recommendation and he told me that it was completely unnecessary given that my cat had very good teeth for his age. Frankly, it is refreshing to find a doctor who doesn't push unnecessary procedures in order to increase the bottom line.
