After receiving several estimates for the work ranging from $2,500 to over $15,000, I decided to proceed with JC & Son Masonry. Greg provided the initial estimate and his attention to detail, professionalism, and friendly / low-pressure demeanor impressed us from the beginning. He spent an hour walking around the property and noting the areas needing repair, took many pictures, and explained the scope of the work. He provided a detailed estimate with pictures and also made some helpful recommendations to address a drainage issue near our garage. When the time came to perform the work, Greg and his brother, Jake, sent their crew of skilled professionals, who showed up early every day exactly when they said they would, worked long hours (even in the summer heat), and did quality repairs. After the repairs were completed, Greg performed a "quality control" walk-through and noted a few areas needing touch up, which his crew promptly addressed the following week. I am very happy with work and would hire JC & Son Masonry again without hesitation. Greg and Jake run an old school (in a good way) family business that takes pride in performing quality masonry work. Highly recommended!

Our building needed some tuckpointing/sealant applied and the result couldn't have been better. Greg was our main contact and was excellent to work with. He came out on time whenever we needed him and was very responsive as the job progressed. He and his staff were true professionals from start to finish, cleaning up after themselves every step of the way. Would highly recommend JC and Son Masonry to anyone! Thanks again.

Chimney work was outstanding. The new chimney matches the house brick in color and variations! The house is 60 years old. The mortar work replaced all of the holes and made the walls look new. I would use them for any future masonry or chimney work I need.

This is the second time we have used JC & Son for a chimney rebuild and this second time was just as great as the first. We had a building where the chimney was falling apart (there were bricks literally falling from it). The chimney needed to be taken apart and then rebuilt with new brick and a chimney cap. Greg was extremely responsive and understood the need for urgency. We had a crew onsite within days to get to work on making the situation safer and, in the end, the job was of high quality at a fair price. This was another great experience working with Greg and JC & Son Masonry and we will continue to use them on our future projects.

We contacted JC and Sons because there was water coming in through our ceiling and walls. They were very quick and responsive. We had to wait to have the work begin until the spring because it was too cold at the time we contacted. But they were very responsive and ended up getting the job done sooner than I expected. I also really appreciated that they had a very in depth estimate and broke the job down into smaller jobs. We got to pick which parts of the job we wanted to do/could afford. We still have some issues with water entering, however, they are coming out to reexamine the exterior walls and roof (the building has a lot of quirks). I trust their work and team and will definitely use them again when we need more work done. You get what you pay for and they are worth the money.

I called quite a few masons for this work and estimates were all across the board. Found that most do not offer warranties or work with the sealant manufacturer to do preliminary tests to ensure their product will work. JC was one that did both. Their price was one of the higher ones that we received but we decided it was worth it due to the warranty they would issue. Both Greg and Jake are great, very responsive and accountable for their work. I can’t say that everything went great. There were some issues, delays, and rework but that was primarily attributed to poor workmanship of one of their employees. Once I brought that to their attention, they worked to correct it. They could have as easily made it really difficult for us to finish the job properly and not taken responsibility. The project could have gone more smoothly if that employee was not assigned but in reality no home project is perfect and a contractor that works to correct issues and make it right is hard to find.

JC and on is a fantastic contractor. They diagnose a very complex problem with our 4 floor split block condo building and offered a very reasonable price to fully address the issues. Greg and Jake are friendly, responsive and reliable and they cleaned the site thoroughly after a messy job. They photo documented the entire job to show results in inaccessible areas. Their crew are friendly and efficient. These guys are the best.

Well enough. There were some scheduling delays but nothing unusual. The quality of the workmanship on the tuckpointing seems good enough. The repairs were completed on time and within the agreed upon scope. The issue I have is the minor damage to a second floor coax cable line as it was torn from its anchors on the exterior brick. The workers did not seem to notice this, and it was left dangling off the front of the house, torn from the port. There was also a fair amount of mortar mix splatter on my fence, and a neighboring fence that I ended up cleaning myself. So the attention to detail and cleanup was not to my liking. They did clear my flat roof of leaf debris as I requested, which was really helpful.

Work was started as stated and done very quickly. Very professional and friendly workers. They answered all of my questions. I was very satisfied of the quality of work and highly recommend them. They aren't the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. I plan on hiring them again in the future no questions!

We have used JC & Son for every masonry job required on one of our 100 year old 4 unit buildings. Each job has been high quality within a reasonable price and Greg has been nothing but a professional. We rely on and trust Greg's advice for all our masonry needs across buildings and he has never let us down. If, upon final walk through of the job, Greg doesn't find the work to be satisfactory or to meet his quality standards, he will send the crew back out to address - zero hassle! I highly recommend this company.

Everything went very good.

The garage and house have been done and they did an excellent job. Greg came out and explained exactly what the process was and his guy was amazing. There was some separation between the garage and an addition to the garage that has been fully corrected.

This was not a small job so we had a lot of questions and interviewed several different masonry companies. Greg was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. He patiently answered all our questions and provided detailed quotes with various options based on our conversation.

Both Greg and his crew were punctual and professional. They arrived on time, did the work, and did a surprisingly good job cleaning up each day. I was initially concerned that the work would disturb my neighbors but I had nothing to fear. One of my neighbors went out of his way to tell me how impressed he was with their professionalism and cleanliness. My other neighbor asked for their contact information.

Based on scheduling, Greg was able to devote more resources to my project than originally anticipated, so the job was completed earlier than expected. What a wonderful surprise!

During the walk-through, Greg noticed a few details that weren't quite perfect including a few touch-up spots that weren't even included on our original punch list, so he had his crew come back (the following workday) to address the items. No questions, no hassle, no issues. I had the sense he wanted the job completed as perfectly as if it were his own property. I appreciated that.

I've used them several times.  They came back out in November, the end of November.  When they came back in November it was free because they had to repair something that they didn't finish repairing back last January.  They asked me if I would wait till their least busy season in the winter.  So that's why we waited a year, which we were willing to do.  I would tell others just that they're very good.  They did a good job back in January.  They may not come back immediately and repair it if there is a problem.  They respond back right away. 

Very professional....Diagnosed problem accurately.  Did what they said they would do, when they promised to do it.  And reasonbly priced.

I have worked with them before and was not hesitant to call them in for this job.  They came out quickly to look at the work to be done and gave me a quote within a couple of days.  Even though they were quite busy on an existing large scale exterior job, they were able to schedule me in the short time frame I gave them.  The work men were all very professional.  They covered all the fixtures and furniture and protected the floors and counters with boards and plastic.  Although tuck pointing is exceptionally dirty, they were as careful as possible.  They completed the job in fine time and at the estimated price.  I will definitely use them again, probably pretty soon for some outdoor work.

It is awesome.  They were so good.   I would hire these guys anytime for any job.   Not only were they willing to take on an unusual project, but they worked with me in designing it and coming up with suggestions throughout the project.  I can't say enough good things about them.  If you need great masons, don't waste your time calling around, just call Greg at JC & Son Masonry.

They were very prompt in returning the initial phone call. The owner's son made the estimate and assessment of the problem.  He was very professional and knowledgeable regarding my problem. Everyone else gave us the worst case scenario and were "outrageous" in the analysis of the problem and remedy.  These people were to the point.  They made arrangements for the scaffolding; put up same; made repairs and replacements; took everything down; cleaned and carted everything away.  I am very pleased with the work that was done and would call them again.  The parapet work they completed was over 70 feet above the pavement.  It appeared they knew what they were doing and I am very happy.

Highly recommended.  Excellent job.  They were responsive, helpful in working with us on prioritizing and budget constraints, professional, and followed through on everything they said they would do (from estimate to scheduling to completion).  The crew was professional and incredibly conscientious about working with neighbors (to access our property) and clean up.  They were here for an extended period and left the place spotless each day.

This project was not completed to our satisfaction.
To be fair, the primary job they did -- sealing up a wall where communal mailboxes were located -- was performed okay. But one unit also had a doorway that required masonry work and painting. This was done poorly and the paint job was extremely sloppy.
We won't hire them again.
