Basically half a cottonwood tree was taken down. It took a few hours and I had the grandkids come over to watch the show. It was impressive. The arborists were very safety conscious and professional in their work. Mission accomplished successfully.

Good.  I called a couple of times and left a voicemail - they call back in a couple of hours.  Spoke with Jose who was pleasant and asked for a quote.  He came 2 days later and left a quote in my mailbox.  Called him to talk about pricing and they came out 2 days later (were hear at 8AM) to work.  Took a few hours and they cleaned up after they were done.  Everyone was very busy and professional.   They have the right equipment - power saws of all sizes, branch mulcher, and saw to get the stump out. 

Removal of the tree and trimming of the other trees went just fine. The workers were professional and extremely safe during the performance of the work, the man doing the climbing was very good as they trimmed the large tree down and cut away the trunk and remaining tree to the stump. He also displayed his skill when and quot;toppingand quot; the other trees that needed trimming. Fearless yet safe.

The ground crews were very good about safety, barricading the sidewalks to direct pedestrian traffic and watching out for each other. They handled all the branches and debris in an efficient and timely manner. All the workers were very aware of the area and we had no issues with any damage to the house, yard, furniture or the surrounding areas. They left the yards and walkways very clean when they were done.

The only issue that arose was the grinding of the stump and removal of the ground up chips and spoil from it. It was noticed that a portion of stump remained and wasn't ground. Jand J was very quick to return and grind the remaining portion down.

Also, when positioning the stump grinding machine and then starting, the machine travels up on the chip pile created and doesn't grind to depth for the rest of the area of the stump. I've seen other tree services do the same thing. I think it would be better if the process involved a crew member cleaning the chips away in front of the wheels as they proceed so the whole area gets ground to the depth agreed upon.

All in all a great job and a fair price for the work performed.

Arrived a little early with seven workers and had the tree and stump removed and carted away in two hours. Raked and removed all debris on grass from tree. Very dependable, efficient and professional.

We received estimates from 5 different tree removal companies, and the prices varied greatly. Jand J wasn't the cheapest, but it was one of the lower estimates and they had a much sounder plan for how they would access the tree. The cheaper bid wanted to take down parts of our fence and bring equipment over the neighbor's landscaping, etc. The higher bids were significantly higher and repeatedly pointed out the size and location to the house as the reasons for for being $1500-$2000 higher than Jand J.
Jand J was very fair and reasonable. They didn't need to take down fence panels, tramp over the neighbor's landscaping, etc. They gave us an estimate, were there on time, and completely the work professionally and well done.
We own several rental homes and frequently use tree removal companies for trimming, removal, etc. Jand J will always be our first call next time we need someone. Very satisfied customer!

Josand eacute; answered my enquiry call on Thursday morning. The very same evening, the estimator was at our door. Several of our large tress in the backyard needed a good trim - some had to be trimmed away from the home, others needed crown thinning. The quote was reasonable, and while they had only a few reviews on Angie's List, we decided to give them the job on a gut feeling.
The following Wednesday morning, Josand eacute; and his crew showed up in bright orange shirts with large trucks, ready to tackle the job. The crew was professional, quiet and very methodical. They cleaned as they trimmed and spent their time focussed on the trees.
We're thrilled with the quality of their service.

Jand J's quote was significantly less than competitors in the area. The crew of 5 arrived on time and the project went off wtihout a hitch considering the size of the tree and its proximity to my neighbor's house. They were all professional, and worked from 8 a.m. until the project was complete and the worksite clean at 3 p.m. The team broke in shifts for lunch so the project continued. I would recommend this team for small and large projects and will call them again when the need arises.

Jand J were very responsive and came quickly to respond to an emergency in which a storm knocked our tree into a neighbor's yard. The neighbor was planning a fencing and turf project and needed large pieces of tree removed quickly.
They also removed several diseased elms for us and dug out the stumps.
A pleasure to work with and so responsive after the storm damage.
