Iwonas Cleaning Service

Three women worked for several hours to remove grime and dust from the many corners of our large old house. (My mother-in-law was about to arrive and I am a less-than-zealous housekeeper.). They cleaned floors, baseboards, molding and other trim, and dusted furniture, as well as cleaning bathrooms and kitchen. They missed a few spots in the kitchen at the end but otherwise did an excellent job. They were also very nice. I will use them again.

Iwona sent 3 different cleaning professionals to meet my schedule needs, which were very flexible.  I asked to have a more 'steady' arrangement but that didn't seem possible with how she runs her cleaning service.  None of the cleaning professions did a stellar job, left things undone and on average they were working for about $19 a hour, meaning they worked fast but didn't do a great job.  For example, the mirror inside my medicine cabinet was not cleaned, even after I asked that it be included (forget the inside of the cabinet!). Another example was cleaning glass doors on a book shelf and leaving streaks (I have professional glass cleaner so this was obviously done to save time). In fact it seemed they cleaned the house, wood, glass, etc. with one rag and cleaner.  She insisted that the clean the floors with a particular mop that I bought upon their request - now I understand why, it saves them time but does not necessarily do a good job.  I have a high end vacuum, floor steamer, swifter, mops - but this apparently was not sufficient.  I would have preferred they asked me how I would like things to be cleaned.

I have used Iwona's Cleaning Service periodically over the past few years for top to bottom cleaning of my 2 BR townhome.  Iwona is always prompt in returning phone calls and has been flexible in terms of getting her cleaning crews of 2 cleaners to my place in a reasonable time frame.

Everything was perfect all the time

The first time was very good.  The second time, like I needed it on an emergency basis; she gave me another house cleaner...the service was good and I overpaid her.  Then the third time I called her back and told her that I wasn't happy with the previous service and she was like okay.  She was very professional but she's rushing.  It's fine.  The expertise is very good because she bought in a house cleaner speaking in a different language.  She's professional in English and so I got to tell her what I needed...this is the first time, and she relate to the house cleaner and their language and what's needed to be done and it's absolutely perfect but the second was different.  She's fine and professional.

Iwona is very professional (answers calls promptly), flexible and has a good crew.  I've used her several times over the years and have been very pleased.

Extremely disappointed. I spent $100 and she did a very sub par job. The kitchen cabinets were wiped down on the inside but not the outside - there was still food and sticky stuff in some places and she didn't wiped down the counter in one of the bathrooms. When I asked her to clean the stove and fridge, she said she didn't think he had the needed supplies. She finally found something to use, but what maid doesn't come prepared to clean a stove and fridge? Also - she was only cleaning for an hour - not nearly enough time for $100 and for a 2 bed, 2 bath home. She was nice, but I would never use this company again.

Iwona was very accomodating. I called on Monday for service. I needed the service before Wednesday. Originally the earliest she had was Tuesday evening, but she ended up finding a slot available Tuesday morning, and the young woman who came to clean even arrived early. The service was great. $85 for a move-out cleaning. Iwona was very helpful and easy to contact and returned all phone calls very quickly.

Iwona was very accommodating in scheduling and was able to make an appointment at short notice. She showed up on time with the cleaning lady (Teresa) and all cleaning supplies. Teresa did a fantastic job. Apart from the usual cleaning of kitchen, bathroom, and hardwood floors, she even cleaned the blinds, baseboards, and shelves in closets, and washed some windows! She also managed to restore the oven to like-new appearance, which I had not believed possible. The last two or three hours her job was complicated by the fact that the crew that was simultaneously working on sewers did not want any water going down the drains, so she had to use a bucket to discard water used for cleaning. It's amazing that she was able to cope with this situation so well and without complaining. I was very happy with all aspects of this cleaning service.

It was very good. She returned my initial phone call promptly. The quote was right on with what was delivered and paid for. They were very professional.

A great initial clean, but they were unable to provide the service requested at the price quoted. We were looking for 1 cleaner every 2 weeks to assist. Iwona came promptly to inspect the place and said it would be $80 every 2 weeks for 2 cleaners to do a full clean. Again I explained we only needed 1 person to assist us and was quoted $40 after an initial deep clean for $80. 2 ladies came and did the 4 hour initial clean and did a thorough job so I tipped $10 each, total $100. It really was a great job in the time given for a 1,000 sq ft apartment, 2 bedrooms, 2 bath. Unfortunately they did not speak a word of English. I tried to explain that I would move the heavy coffee table as needed. Later I checked and they had slid the trunk across the wood flooring leaving scratch marks, but nothing major. I tried to arrange the next cleaning and as per usual got voicemail. I requested one of the same cleaners so we would not have to re-explain where cleaning products were (not included in price) and so they'd know not to scratch the floor again. Got a voicemail back saying we were undercharged, new price would be $50 but the ladies could not work Wednesday as requested. Called back, voicemail again. Said $50 would be fine but could we have then have an English speaker so we could at least explain what needed doing and things to avoid. Next call Iwona got through to me. She now quoted $60!!! Almost as much as having 2 people. I explained that we'd agreed on $40 initially, but she kept going on about doing a full clean again. She explained the Greek lady she'd found, who could speak English, had to pay Iwona $10 and pay for her bus to get to us. Bus? I chose the company because they are located in the West Loop where we are. So we set a time and date and said she would call the lady and mention $40. Monday came and went, no one came, no calls. It's been about 2 months now.

Excellent. Iwona is wonderful to work with and she's always sent me excellent employees. I've worked with some house cleaning companies where I never know who's going to show up that morning to clean my house. Iwona doesn't do that. As a dual-career couple, with 2 children, I need a competent, self-motivated cleaning service. Iwona's cleaning service does just that.

Very well. They were careful and efficient. I was looking to change housecleaning services because they had become sloppy and careless with our things. Iwona's service seems much better.

They were able to come out the day after I called which was great. They were very prompt, but as she was on her way, my electricity went out due to a storm, so she did not come out. She offered to reschedule but due to the circumstances I could not. She is very professional and more than conscientious in regards to the everything that was going on. I would use her in the future.

Iwona came to our place to inspect the rooms we wanted cleaned and give an estimate of cost and time. On the day of cleaning, Iwona and her cleaning staff (one woman) arrived right on time and finished the work under the time estimated (about five hours but it was completed within 4 1/2). Iwona thoroughly explained to the cleaning lady what we wanted. After the work was done, we were quite pleased with the refreshed appearance of each room. My husband and I were quite happy with the results and plan on having this done at least once a year and perhaps the rest of the condo also.

We have been using Iwona for a little over a year now. The ladies that do the cleaning are very polite and friendly. Their cleaning is very thorough. I already have recommended her services to a few of my friends and family, which are very satisfied with her.
