clock repair
+ -1 moreI expected the service to take some time. Previous services of the clock had taken as long as 6 months. I just called every 4 months to ask how things were proceeding. "Not ready yet" In Jan, 2015, the very nice woman on the phone said, "Oops, we were supposed to call you with an estimate and get your approval. That didn't happen? The clock has just been sitting here." Ok, can we start work now? I called in March, 2015, June, and Sept. Finally, in Oct, they said "Our clock repair guy says he can't fix it." and I went and picked it up. When I went to the shop, they gave me my clock. No charge, but no discussion, no apology, no embarrassment. Nothing. I am about to try again with an Angie's List provider. This organization was not in the Angie's List file.
Description of Work: I requested repair of a 1917 Tiffany Carriage Clock. The clock was running but losing time and one chime sounded flat. I delivered the clock to them in March, 2014. I picked up the clock on Friday, Oct 23, 2015. The clock is not running. They said they could not repair it. They were recommended by a prominent Chicago collector (and well known public figure). I figured they would be great, considering who had sent me there. Nope! Mentioning that name made no difference whatsoever.
