My mom needed to be moved both unexpectedly and quickly. She was suffering from dementia, but fighting every effort we made to try to care for her in her home. It was a battle of wills and my brother and I were already worn out.
A fall resulted in a broken hip requiring surgery. A month long stay in a rehab center would be required. We knew she could never go back to living alone. It was time to move her immediately, so she wasn?t paying another months rent on a fixed income? yet we needed to be with her at the hospital to keep her calm.
Enter Jackie and her amazing staff at Household Packing Specialists. We found them though glowing reviews on Yelp! and
hoped we?d be as satisfied.
Jackie and crew swooped in and packed up my mom?s six rooms of mixed clutter and heirlooms in 5 hours.They immediately and efficiently edited out the obvious garbage and junk mail, while leaving the misc. documents mixed with irreplaceable photographs for us to go through at our leisure.
All of mom?s belongings were organized and clearly labeled. Appropriate clothing was set aside for immediate use, as were a number of personal items that we had pre-identified with Jackie?s help.
Jackie asked clear questions and listened carefully to our responses. She raised issues before they even occurred to us. She gave us an estimate that was spot on. She even dropped off unwanted items to the Salvation Army, supplying us with an itemized receipt for our donation.
The feeling of relief was wonderful. We could take care of mom, while Jackie took care of emptying mom?s home.
