We called Don on New Year's Eve because the Sonos sound system wasn't working in the key room of our house- the family room. Don called back promptly and talked us thru the problem. He had come out several months ago and had diagnosed some other issues with our Sonos system, and he corrected those. I highly recommend Don. He took time out of his day on a weekend- and holiday, no less, to return our call and remedy our problem. Extremely nice, punctual and professional!

Don came by the day after I reached out.  He diagnosed the issue and showed me online exactly the part I needed to resolve what I was facing.  Since he was able to find the issue right away, and I'd paid for an hour, he went ahead and just hooked up the rest of my sound system.  Part came the next day and I was having trouble figuring out why it still wasn't working.  I texted Don and he recommended checking a few things.  The second thing I checked was the problem and now it works great.  Highly recommend Don!

Don was very professional, polite, helpful and considerate.  Overall, it was great.  

Were were very pleased with the service. In our first meeting, Don listened to our needs and went through our existing TV and audio equipment. From there, we jointly developed a plan to add new pieces (such as the TVs and Sonos), but still utilize as much of our existing A&V equipment as possible. Once we set up the plan, he helped us identify the best new equipment options. Don handled all of the required wiring, brackets, etc. The actual installation went very smooth. There are a few things that we really liked about working with the Hook Up Guys: (1) Don and his partner are complete gentlemen, and were very gracious guests in our home. (2) Don really knows his stuff and has been in this business for years, but can relate to you at your level (3) Very collaborative process focused on leveraging your existing equipment as much as possible (4) High quality workmanship, and (5) Never missed an appointment - always done when he said he would be - no exceptions. It is possible you might find someone who could do cheaper work, but if you really value experience and quality, then I would go with these guys. They will end up saving you over the long run and getting the job done right the first time and on time is very valuable.

I called Don in the morning and he almost immediately returned my phone call.  After explaining my issues, we scheduled an appointment for later that same day.  Don was on time and able to fix issues that I had been having with my surround sound system for some time now.  He also came up with a creative way to mount an apple tv box and hide the wires behind our tv.

As mentioned above, all went well.

Don Miller came out to my residence to troubleshoot an outdoor speaker that was not consistently providing any sound.  He had been out on June 9th and diagnosed the lines etc and it appeared at the time to be a loose fitting with my wires on the back of my receiver, however, when the problem reoccurred, Don was very accommodating in making my issue a priority.  After the second visit, he determined that my Comcast X1 box was faulty and causing issues! Don took the time to climb up a double pull ladder to look at wires going out the house and also crawled around on his knees in my crawl space to try to eliminate all possible causes.  Don prob. spent 2 hours at the house and again, only charged for his min. of $100!  On top of the professional service, Don is one of the nicest techs I've every dealt with and between both characteristics, I was compelled to write a review which I never make the time to do!  I would absolutely recommend Don and the Hook Up Guys!!

Don was very friendly and professional. He was also very good at explaining exactly what he was doing and why he was doing it. He had to do a lot of testing and problem solving to get to the root of the issue and he was meticulous with testing each component of our sound system to make sure it was fixed.  He then took the time to explain the components to myself and my staff to ensure we all understood the settings on the amp. I would definitely use the Hook Up Guys again!

Don came out a few days before the appointment to look at the work area and see what kind of tools and supplies would be needed. 
The guys arrived on the scheduled day on time and ready to work.  these guys were a joy to have around.  They were friendly and helpful and professional.  They knew what neede to be done, they discussed and tried alternatives to make a better installation and finally ended with a very nice piece of work. 
The TV looks great on the wall, the wires are out of sight, very nicely done.  They solved a nagging problem I had had with some speakers in the basement by mounting them to a wall and running the wire through a channel and through a wall.
All in all, we were very satisfied.

This is my second time working with Don Miller. He is very smart and quite painstaking in his attention to detail. But he is not a "technology snob" - he will walk you through every detail and answer all of your questions. He's not arrogant, like some of the tech help guys you may run into. He doesn't treat you like you're stupid if your knowledge of the equipment is minimal. He wants you to be happy and will take the time to walk you through all of your options - and before he leaves, he'll make sure that you understand how the equipment works. He's like that cool high school teacher, who loves what he does and will bend over backwards to make sure that you understand too.  The first time I hired Don, he helped me get my Klipsch system to work (my TV had picture, but no sound, and the wireless subwoofer was refusing to woof) and the other components also weren't playing nice with one another. Don rewired the system so that all the parts worked smoothly (even the finicky subwoofer). So when it came time for me to move to my new apartment, he was the one I called to help me get set up. I had a good receiver that I seldom used (Yamaha HTR-5860) and thought it might be an upgrade over my finicky Klipsch CS-700 (who I have had three other tech help guys work on, before finding Don). He called to let me know that he was delayed but on his way (a simple thing, that many don't do). He arrived shortly after his call, and then walked me through both options - staying with the Klipsch vs. going with the Yamaha. The Klipsch was an integrated system (all of the components were made by Klipsch) and going with the Yamaha would mean buying new speakers (because it could blow out the Klipsch bookshelf speakers). He thought he could get the Klipsch subwoofer to play nice with the Yamaha receiver. I'm not super wealthy (far from it), but my TV is one of my few pleasures, so I decided to go for the better speakers. I figured that would mean that Don would have to come back another time, but he surprised me by offering to go with me to a nearby Best Buy and help me pick out the best buy for my modest budget. While driving to the store, I learned that Don has an extensive background in top end stereo equipment. Once in the store, he ran rings around the Best Buy sales person in the Home Theater department. Don asked great questions, sorted through several brands in different price ranges, and more importantly (to me) advised me on which brands NOT TO BUY. The salesman ended up offering me an open box discount on a brand that offered good quality but that I had never heard of -- but Don had. The brand was called "Energy" and I bought a matched set (left, right and a center console) for about $500 total. The center console wasn't in stock, but Don came back to my home - all of this happened on the same day - and began wiring up the two speakers we did have. He connected them to the Yamaha A/V receiver (after making some tweaks to my TV stand - Don doesn't miss a thing!), then spent time talking me through how he was connecting both the HDMI cables and the optical cables, so that I'd have the best picture and best sound. He then gave me a tutorial on how to use my remote so that I'd remember which button to press for music and movies vs. DirectTV (complete with a little mini-quiz to test if I really did know how to do it). I expected after spending about three hours with me, that his price would be really high, but it was actually very reasonable. I recommend him highly. To say that he exceeded my expectations, would not do him enough justice. I think he's the best vendor on Angie's List that I've worked with, and I've worked with a lot of them. Great service, but better yet, a great guy. And I didn't even mention the help with my internet provider. I would recommend him for a Page of Happiness and Super Service award.

The experience was great. They contacted me promptly and we were able to schedule the service within a few days. They came out and removed my existing plasma TVs from their wall mounts and hung my new plasma TVs on the existing mounts. I was concerned prior to the installation that the new TVs would not fit on the existing mounts because they were larger than the existing TVs, but Don indicated that we could use the existing mounts, saving me the cost of purchasing new mounts.
They were thorough and everything went smoothly.
Their pricing was very fair and competitive. I knew that this was a straightforward swap, but others wanted to charge extra for running a new cable through the wall; all that was included in their price.
I would highly recommend them as they are very knowledgeable, careful and meticulous.

We contacted Don by phone, and he got back to us quickly. We were able to arrange to have the work done in a couple of days. Don arrived on time, and worked very efficiently and carefully. We are only so-so when it comes to understanding technology. Don was great in that regard. He explained everything, and didn't make us feel dumb. When he was finished, he made sure we were able to make everything work properly, and even drew us a schematic "map" of how all of the components work with each other. It turns out we haven't needed it, but it was very comforting to have it. We also felt that we could call him at any time if we had problems (which we haven't so far). He was very pleasant to work with. And he was just what we were looking for. I would recommend him highly to anyone who doesn't have the knowledge to do these things on their own.

Kismet! Was trying to hook up an older HD TV and it wasn't working. Called Hook Up Guys and as chance would have it, Don was in the neighborhood just finishing a call. Within minutes he was at my place and soon everything was connected and working. Don not only had the correct cables w him, but tried everything out after it was hooked up ... the TV, the DVR, the DVD/VHS. He was thorough and a great teacher.

I contacted Hook Up Guys LLC to inquire about mounting a TV above the fireplace in my condo and running the cables/wire through the wall to the outlet.  I spoke with Don and I described the type of service I needed performed.  He came over to my place that same night to assess if the work could be performed and to give me a quote.  The quote included the mounting bracket, additional wires, and labor.  The quote was very fair and Don described in detail what he was going to do.  We set up the appointment for the following Saturday.  
On the day of the appointment, Don and his partner Dave arrived on time and started the work promptly.  They took great care in mounting the TV and hiding the wires along the wall to the TV.  I originally wanted to run the wires through the wall, but after closer inspection Don and Dave realized that would not be possible due to the fireplace configuration.  Therefore, they did some troubleshooting and figured out a solution by concealing the wires along the wall to the outlet.  The end result was perfect.  They made sure all wires were hidden and even attached my cable box to the back of the TV.  They tested the TV and cleaned up everything before leaving.    
I would definitely recommend Hook Up Guys LLC for superb service and a quality work product.

I called Hook Up Guys after reading Angie's List reviews of them. Don, who is one of the owners answered the phone and was the one who performed the service. He was very polite and helpful and was able to immediately give me a scheduled appointment, including calling me to let me know he was on his way.

He did a wonderful job and is very knowledgeable. I also appreciated that he helped save us money by making a secondary receiver work for our outdoor speakers versus having to go out and purchase a new one. He also took the time to walk me through the changes that he made and my eldest son. In total, he spent about 3 hours navigating all of the commotion of a busy household, pets included!

I highly recommend him and this company. Don't hesitate to call them!

I called on Wednesday to explain what we needed done.  Don answered the call and took down the information and said it was a job they could handle.  He called me back in ten minutes and told me his partner was free tomorrow and they could come Thursday morning.  That was fine with me.  They were running a little late and called before their appointment time to let me know where they were and when they would arrive.  Don and Dave came and we went through the house showing them what was connected where and how it all fit together.  They made some recommendations and started in.  When they found other old cables they asked if I wanted them upgraded and I let them go ahead and do that.  They were here for 2 1/2 hours and got everything done.  They had quoted a price based on time and materials and pro-rated to the half hour, so there were no surprises.

These guys couldn't have been nicer and they deserve all the business they can get. Superb quality and phenomenal customer service! I highly recommend them!

I have worked with Don and Dave twice now.  They and Ben are both a pleasure. It's clear that they have been doing this a long time; two are former Tweeter guys. So far, I've used them to  mounted  3 TVs. They do the job great, even when a job gets a little complex.

They were on time, professional and gave great advice. They even have cables when you need them. Plus the price was awesome!!!!

Don and Dave were on time and very knowledgable and honest.  They took the time to identify my needs and thoroughly assess the situation before making recommendations.  They secured equipment locally at prices that were comparable to what you could purchase online.  Though it may be tempting to buy product from an online retailer, it does make sense to purchase locally.  These guys have connections and it makes any returns and exchanges much easier.  My system was complex (at least to me) and they were here quickly to adjust anything or explain anything to me.  I would definitely recommend Hook Up Guys.
