I got several estimates and chose this company based on the fact that I had recommendations from a prior client, that I liked the architect who seemed to grasp what I wanted, and that the estimate was within to even a little below my desired price range. I paid my deposit (see above) and spent months going over drawings, choosing appliances and cabinets (as recommended by the architect). When we sat down at the meeting to finalize the plan, he told me that the cost would be double the original estimate. He said this is because of what I chose; however I made my choices from his recommendations, assuming that they would be remotely in the price range we had discussed. When I asked for a break down of the costs to see where we could change things, he only came back with a list that said "Plumbing $X, Electrical $X" which was obviously unhelpful because in redoing a kitchen and bath, you aren't going to just skip all plumbing or all electrical work. I was fairly upset and debated for sometime about calling him back about the list but ultimately decided that if he really wanted the job, he would call to make sure I received the list and what my thoughts were about going forward. He never did and I decided I didn't want to work with someone that wasn't interested enough to do that kind of basic follow up. I was very disappointed after all the work that had been done.
