HD INSTALLS

HD Installs is fantastic - we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Stefan communicated promptly, was friendly and thorough, and mounted our TV’s quickly and precisely. I recommend them so highly!!

Charles came and finished the installation in about 30 to 45 minutes. He showed me how the existing bracket was fine after all and he reinforced it with another screw into a stud. Just to show me how strong it was, he did a chin-up on it (cringed at that a bit but he made the point). He fished the new HDMI and ethernet wires through the existing hole without much problem and then mounted the television also without much problem. He even hung around and helped me reposition the screen a few times to make sure it was exactly where I wanted it. By the end of the night I had a beautiful new Sony on the wall and my bedroom was back to normal. I can even get my money back from Best Buy for the unnecessary wall mount I had bought at the request of the first team of jerks. Can't thank Charles and HD Install enough for making a bad situation right, right away. And their price was the lowest quoted to me. Bravo. I have attached two pictures. The first shows how Mccullagh Services left the wall and never returned (I wrote a review of that horror show as well). The second shows how the wall looked after HD install was done.

They did not pull the required permits for Chicago.  In fact they insisted that they weren't required, which isn't true and not I have building  court cases against me.  In addition, they did not use the correct compressions rings or boxes.  The difference in materials for each building is only $50 and the labor would have been the same. So everything has to be redone and they refuse to redo it correctly.

They also repeatedly put off how to connect to the systems with my own computer so I have to hire someone else to do this for me as well.

They completely missed our appointment.  Kept calling repeatedly saying they'd be there within the hour.  Did this 6 times and then never showed up. We had a newborn at the time, making the delays very inconvenient.
They came the next day and despite agreeing to $199 over email stated that the cost would be $299 because they 'were no longer running that promotion.'
Talked to manager over email and he agreed to refund the $100 given the email agreement on price.  Never received refund.
Person on phone told us to 'go f*** ourselves'
Don't use.

The process of running new HDMI cable in wall had some unexpected challenges however the installers were clever and experienced enough to find some good solutions. This involved a fairly complex 50 ft cable run through the ceiling and into a media AV closet. In the end the technicians at HD Installs did an excellent job and were very professional. I would highly recommend this company to anyone requiring install work for any home AV system.
