Initial contact was very positive. She quickly responded to my email inquiry, said she was interested in the project (I explained both the scope and location just in case it didn't meet their criteria), and she showed up early for the appointment. However, she never followed up. She told me to send her the plat for our yard (even though I said I wasn't sure I could find it given that it was more than 10 years since the hardscaping had been done) and thus didn't bother to measure anything. She didn't send me an email with suggested plants. She left saying that once I sent her the plat and had three trees removed (my idea, not hers) she would come back and then she would put together a plan. The only good thing was that she referred me to a good tree removal service. Otherwise, she wasted both her time and mine. I guess I am shocked that someone would walk away from a prospective client this way.? We ended up hiring another landscape firm we found on Angie's List. The project is over $5K (excluding the tree removal), so it wasn't exactly small potatoes for residential work.

The entire experience was great.  From my initial email contact to meeting her the morning she was doing the work in my yard.  This is the third time (property) I have used Lois.  I will moving again this year and she will do my new corner lot property as well.  I recommend her.  She is a long time Chicago resident and knows the plants that work in our climate zone #6.

We did get a design, but there was no follow-up call or estimate attached.  Can't imagine any business would not do some follw-up after sending out an estimate - they must not want the business.

Incidentally, we went with another company for a $10K job. 

Prompt, easy to work with, listened, responded. Very good.

Showed up very early for appointment, unannounced. Most of what we were interested in having done she said wasn't within her services. (Removing of existing landscaping, hardscaping, planning) Promised to follow up with references to other vendors she recommended to do the work but never heard from her again.

They trimmed one bush lightly and left five others untouched. When we complained,  They came back and trimmed one more bush badly and put down a bit more mulch. When we complained again Lois knocked $50 off the invoice and refused to come back.

As always, Lois and her team did a great job getting our yards ready for spring.  She went the extra like and helped seed the backyard to keep things looking great all season.  Will continue to use Greenspace each year.

Overall, the visit went well.  Two people came out from the company and they worked hard while they were there.  The garden beds were weeded down to bare soil, and a row of bushes was trimmed and weeded as well.  I gave them a B in overall quality because of some of the things they missed.  A section of the row of bushes remained a little overgrown - but that may simply have been because they ran out of time.  Generally speaking, they did a good job, listened to what we were after and executed well.

Actually, not too many details.  The other company is coming today and then will submit a proposal.  So, we'll see how it turns out, but I still give Lois really high marks for being really honest and directing me to someone who can help!

A crew of 3 arrived on time and worked very well, clearing everything and bagging it for removal. When finished, they spread 3 bags of mulch that I had on-hand and we talked about future projects. I'm very satisfied with the job(s) they performed and will hire them again in the future, primarily for ongoing maintenance to the property, though other jobs may be possible, as well.

Absolutely wonderful. They were very polite and professional.
