"Thank you, [Member Name Removed]! I've passed your kind words on to Whitney."
"Hi [Member Name Removed], Thank you for the positive review!"
"Hi [Member Name Removed], Thank you so much for your detailed, positive review. It means a lot to us when customers recognize that Green Paws focuses upon what we refer to as "Key Trust". I became an owner of this company after having been a customer myself -- and after having received terrible service with other in-home petcare companies here in Chicago. As such, we're focused on getting the things right that mattered most to me that other companies I'd used in the past got horribly wrong. Like you, I was mildly terrified to give out the keys to my home while I was away on trips. Everyone here at Green Paws is a W-2 employee. Everyone is background checked. We have a lengthy multi-stage hiring process (written application, phone interview, in-office interview and full-day field evaluation). If the candidate is offered a position after the field eval, that is followed by both office and field training. We carry worker's comp, general liability and surety bonding. And we have a full-time dedicated (i.e., not field staff that comes in after hours) office staff for customer service, scheduling, and dispatch...including monitoring all field staff via our real-time dispatch board. While like all petcare companies we focus on the love and care of our clients' pets and care for them as if they were our own, here at Green Paws we also understand that in-home services consists of being where we're supposed to be when we're supposed to be there, doing everything you've asked of us and not doing anything you wouldn't do yourself. It's very much our goal here at Green Paws to elevate in-home pet care to the level of professionalism you'd expect from any other legitimate industry and we truly appreciate it, [Member Name Removed], when customers like you express recognition that we work diligently to deliver upon that expectation to our customers. Thank you!"
"Thank you, [Member Name Removed]! We appreciate the recognition. The office crew works tirelessly to make things run like clockwork while our staff in the field provides the love and care Chicago's pet parents have come to expect from Green Paws."
"Thank you for the kind words, [Member Name Removed]! We appreciate the feedback and appreciation. All the best, Robb H."
"Thank you, {Member's name removed}! And thanks for understanding the coverage constraints when primary pet care specialists are on vacation, sick, etc. -- a lot of folks haven't thought about the logistics of what it is we do on the office end to make things work out in the field!"
"Thanks for taking the time to review us, {Member's name removed}!"
"Hi [Member Name Removed] Thanks for taking the time to review us here on Angie's. We've enjoyed caring for Angus & Malcolm! One item I need to clear-up, though, is that all of our visits are either 25, 45 or 60 minutes. Sometimes people confuse the 25-minute visits for a half-hour. Sorry for any confusion with that or regarding suspending your membership. I will look into that with the office team."
I am extremely picky about who takes care of my rabbit, Kale, and I was really worried when my long-time pet sitter moved. After much searching, I contacted Green Paws. Taylor responded right away, answered all my questions, and arranged a home visit for himself and Brian, who has responsibility for the Lakeview area.
Kale is fairly skittish but he connected with Brian right away. Within 5 minutes he was practically in his lap! By the end of the visit Kale was following Brian around-a very good sign.
Brian and Taylor did not have experience with rabbits but spent a lot of time listening and learning. They are animal lovers so they genuinely wanted to understand all of the differences with rabbit care vs. dog/cat care and how prey animals tend to hide illness so you have to be really alert for signs. Their interest in learning and the time they spent with me and with Kale really put me at ease and made me feel confident having Brian take care of Kale.
My first trip away was a long one, two weeks. I looked forward to getting Brian's daily texts to learn about all the fun things he and Kale did during the visit! I've had several other business trips since then and do not hesitate to leave Kale in Brian's care. The booking is easy, customer service (Taylor) is extremely responsive, and billing is accurate. Is it the least expensive place you can find? No, but you get what you pay for. The price is absolutely worth the quality of care and the peace of mind.
Thank you so much Brian, Taylor, and Green Paws!
"Hi, [Member Name Removed]! Thank you for your very kind review. As one of the owners here at Green Paws, I can't tell you how much all of us appreciate it when our customers recognize the differences that make us...different! We handle rabbits and other non-dog/cat pets on a case-by-case basis and Brian is certainly one of our most experienced pet care specialists with whom I feel comfortable giving approval for special pets. Taylor is one of our great office folks (in addition to Andy, Cristal and Kelsey) who deals with the customer service side as well as the logistics end of scheduling/dispatch and overseeing that the staff out in the field are where they're supposed to be, when they're supposed to be there, doing what they're supposed to be doing. In addition myself, those folks bring our office team to five, which creates a strong backline to support our customers' needs and the needs of the roughly 50 pet care specialists we have out in the field. We're also very different in how we evaluate applicants: Written application/resume/cover letter screened for phone interview candidates, which filters for in-office interviews, which filters for full-day field evaluation with one of our four trainers; applicants who pass through those phases then undergo federal, state and local background checks before being put into a multi-day training program. And that's why we wind-up with great folks like Brian. Again, thank you for the recognition and the kind words. I will take a screen grab of your review and forward to Taylor and Brian. All the best, Robb."
"Thank you for the kind words, [Removed member name]! We focus on being the most professionally operated petcare services company in Chicago and really appreciate it when our customers notice and are kind enough to tell others about it! All the best, Robb (co-owner)."
"Thank you, [Removed member name], for the high marks! I'm sorry we don't get an "A" grade on pricing. Admittedly, we are not the cheapest provider in town. The reason for that is that we have much higher costs than most competitors. E.g., we are 100% W-2 based (no 1099s) and have worker's comp, liability insurance, surety bonds, etc. Unlike almost everyone else in the industry, we run federal, state and local background checks on every employee before they are hired, which adds cost, but we wouldn't feel right not doing that -- I wouldn't want someone in my home who hadn't been thoroughly checked first. We also have an extensive screening, interview and training process. All of our applicants first submit a written application, then go through a phone interview followed by an office interview. About 6% of applicants are then put out on a full-day peer interview in the field where they are evaluated for personality, petcare skills, and biking stamina. Of that 6%, about half receive a job offer. On top of this, Green Paws has four full-time office staff who are focused on customer service; continuous monitoring and training of the petcare specialists out in the field; routing, scheduling and dispatching; and other back-office functions. So while I agree with you that we're not the least expensive, I do think we are the best value for the money. Again, many thanks for giving us high marks. All the best, Robb (co-owner)."
basis. The walker was there every day, rain, snow, sleet or hail and managed to at least get Samba out for a ?quickie?
and then right back in. She exhibited a genuine caring attitude for Samba. When that walker moved on to another position in the company she brought her replacement, Caitlin, along to get her oriented to Samba?s routine. Caitlin was every bit as professional and caring and dependable. Caitlin pet/house sat for us on our last vacation and the house was immaculate when we returned. When Samba was stricken with bone cancer in February of 2015, Green Paws was extremely sympathetic and flexible with their cancellation policy to accommodate Samba?s numerous trips to the Cancer Center. After her treatments and when Samba was feeling pretty lousy, Caitlin was able to coax her to take a short walk which seemed to perk Samba up a bit as she came back with her tail wagging looking for me and her treats. Ultimately Samba succumbed to the cancer and we put her to sleep on 6/11/15. When we notified Green Paws of this via email their response was very sympathetic and they automatically (without having to be asked) extended a refund of our un-used walks for June. The old adage ? you get what you pay for ? definitely applies to this terrific bunch of young caring dog walkers. Definitely no ?puppy kickers? in this bunch. I heartily recommend this company for those in need of quality, dependable dog walking.
"[Member Info Removed], again our deepest condolences regarding Samba. I had to put down our 16-year-old earlier this year and know how painful a time this can be. Nonetheless, I am glad to learn we made a difficult time for you and Samba more bearable and am very flattered you took the time to share your experiences with us here for other members. Kindest Regards, Robb (co-owner)"
They went to our boarder and picked up Gunner. Took him to the vet for us. Took him back to our house. Picked up his meds and scheduled dog walkers and house sitting until we returned. Absolutely amazing!!! I truly cannot say enough good things about how they came to our rescue. Gunner is recovering well and we can't thank everyone at Greenpaws enough!

"Hi [member name removed] Thank you for the kind words! We are actually working on expanding to Evanston, so we will reach out when we do! I hope you and Melba are enjoying your new home. Taylor"
This company is exceptionally professional, responsive and clearly dedicated to the highly personal business of pet care. I highly recommend them and plan to hire them again for our next trip.
