My contractor failed to finish everything before Bart came out to measure but Bart was really understanding and accommodating. He was quick and diligent in his measuring and the installation went smoothly. One corner was slightly discolored but they sent out a guy to lighten it without charge. Because my contractor had failed to finished everything before the measurement, we were left with a half inch gap due to an unforeseen panel. Even though it wasn't Granite Design of Midwest's fault for the gap, Jack (the guy who came out) went out of his way to help us cover it with a backsplash piece. He even came back a 2nd time because the first piece was lighter than the countertop piece.
After working with a lot of contractors who frustrate me it's really a giant relief that Bart and Granite Design of Midwest is so reliable and even go ABOVE AND BEYOND. They're treating your kitchen like they would want to treat their own kitchen. It was a wonderful experience working with them and I would recommend them to anyone.
The job has taken place on time, the installation has been well done, with attention to detail, and any seams have been executed perfectly. They have a good selection of quality, inexpensive sinks too, so I have opted to get the sinks through them.
The installers cleaned up well behind themselves, and once again, I was impressed and quite pleased with the entire job, price included. I highly recommend Granite Design Midwest.
Once agreed, Bart came to make a precise template. We discussed the seam and though my preference about the seam was more challenging, the price remained and the work was begun. The stone arrival was as Bart had predicted.
But, the absolute 'topper' was the installation crew. They had a challenge with the size of the quartz and the elevator, which they managed like a breeze. The four installers, Craig, Adam, Martin and Andrew worked together like precision clockwork. They protected the environ with plastic draping, secured, cut and seamed the countertop and installed it exactly as I had requested.
I asked Bart about the piece that was removed for the cook top and they have fashioned a cutting board from it -- no charge.
This company is tops. They rise to challenges with the utmost of professionalism.
I recommend them and would use them again in a heartbeat!
It went great. Bart is so easy to work with and after I chose my granite slabs they came to do the work within 3 weeks. I bought the sink from him as well which he picked up and brought with him and that made things so much easier for me, All I had to buy was the faucet.
The workers were on time, and did an outstanding job. Bart had said to plan on 5 hrs, it only took them 3. They were fast, efficient, did great work and clean up was meticulous. Bart provided the plumber (I didn't have one) who showed up and did a great job as well. His fee was separate but very reasonable. Bart's prices are competitive, he was lower than my other quotes although they were willing to match his. He is laid back, not hard sell, but that's what I liked about him. I had seen his work at my neighbor's and was very impressed. He got great recs from them as well.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Granite Designs for granite or quartz countertops. And I would definitely use them again.
I initially ordered quartz countertops from a different vendor and when the company arrived to install the countertops, they brought the countertops in 6 pieces, which was not what we ordered. The vendor stated that it was not possible to provide the countertops in 3 pieces because we have an apron sink. I refused to accept them, as we had ordered 3 pieces and the company never informed me that they could not provide the countertops in 3 pieces and I had also seen numerous countertops in marble, quartz and granite for apron sinks that were not cut into pieces.
I then called and visited Granite Design and after reviewing the dimensions, Bart assured me that they could install the countertops in 3 pieces as we wanted. We visited their shop and ordered the Caeserstone ?Frosty Carina? (white quartz) countertops. Bart came out promptly to measure and create the templates, and shortly thereafter the countertops were delivered and installed in 3 pieces as Bart had promised. So we have only one seam in the entire kitchen, which was necessary given the overall dimensions. This is what we wanted and Bart delivered as promised. The countertops are beautiful and they were installed perfectly.
We?re very happy with our countertops. Bart and Agnes are down to earth and I would definitely recommend Granite Design for anyone looking to purchase kitchen countertops.
So we settled on Granite Design of the Midwest. We visited M.S. International, Inc. in Elk Grove Village to pick out granite for our kitchen remodel. It's one place Granite Design recommends and M.S. must have 2-3,000 slabs of granite and quartz on hand for viewing. We ultimately decided on 2 slabs of Gaillo Fiorito, 3 cm thick on 11.22.13. John from Granite Design came to our house and doubled checked our kitchen countertop measurements and made a template.
The Granite Design work proposal included fabricating the countertop, 1/4 round edge, 4-inch splash with an eased edge, and a double basin sink that was to be undermounted. We also received two granite trivets about 11 inches by 11 inches and kitchen window sill made of the same granite.
The granite was sealed, polished, and installed on 12.12.13. The installers ran into a problem with the dishwasher and a spacing problem between cabinets and couldn't finish the job until our contractor made some adjustments to an island cabinet. So Granite Design had to come back on 12.19.13 to finish the job.
Bart the owner of Granite Design said there would be no additional charge for his team to come back and finish the work. I thought that was beyond the call of duty. I can't say enough about the company or its installers. They saved us the cost of an additional granite slab through a sleigh of hand during the granite installation.
We picked out the sink on the Granite Design web site--$150 bucks for a premium sink that was included in the total price of $1620. The company uses a product called DRYTREAT Stain Proof ($89 a quart) to seal the granite. It has a 15 year warranty.
