The work was performed successfully and professionally in a single day. It was obvious the installer took a lot of pride in his work, and four months later we are still very happy with the work performed and the new look of our shower and tub. The management of Gold Coast Bath Systems was also very helpful and patient in advising us both before the installation and on the day of installation when we brought up new questions. We would definitely use them again!

The contract also required a pocket door install; installing a new toilet and stop valve, sink, sink & shower/tub faucets/plumbing; marble tile on shower alcove, tub apron, floor; marble chair rail; & shower door install. None of that was done. Mid-performance, GCBS said it wasn't comfortable doing the pocket door, and asked me to find someone else to do it. They installed plumbing wall & durock out of plumb. At first, the shower pipe was put at wrong height, and GCBS didn't insulate copper plumbing from contact with other metal and fully secure pipe with clamps. At first, it framed for medicine cabinets in the wrong place. No floor protection put down. GCBS also said it 'didn't have the right tools' to install other doors I was considering paying them to install. After agreeing to cancel the contract, it wouldn't refund an appropriate amount of my down payment reflecting the value of the work not performed. GCBS also admitted that a couple statements by its sub weren't credible.

"By asking for a $3,390 refund, in effect, the member is asking GCBS to forgo all General Contractor's fees and to retain only the money paid to our subcontractors and vendors i.e. that he only pays for the discounted rates the general contractor gets for their large volume and knowledgeable trade practices. He is demanding that GCBS work for no charge. He sent GCBS more than 35 pieces of specs, revisions, special requests, concerns, etc. and GCBS professionally addressed each and every one, including several additional site surveys, meetings, coordinating with other workers doing roofing related work, and assisted the member in the designing and selecting of materials which he preferred to purchase and provide. The majority of the work on the $18,162 contract was completed before cancellation and payments received to date total $11,765. GCBS stands for fairness in the marketplace and considers that our services, conduct and offers to the member have been meeting all trade standards, and beyond. -Roberta Cahill, Administrator"
