Very helpful for those looking for a few plants to those looking for full-on landscaping

He did a very good job transplanting the plant. He was also very informative regarding future care of the plant. It was even necessary to call him for further information and he was very willing and very helpful.

This is by far and away the best garden center in Chicago. We live nearby but have friends who drive here from the Gold Coast to take advantage of it. Huge selection of annuals and perennials, all in great condition. Large displays of garden ornaments and home goods. Everything beautifully presented. The staff always have informed answers about our gardening questions and they really know the stock. They are a valuable part of the neighborhood and we wouldn't go anywhere else. 

I've purchased various plantings from them over many years, but have never hired them to plant.

I think they have a great selection and the people are really helpful.  I am not the one who shops the most, my mom does but the people are really nice and knowledgeable.  I tell them that they have a great selection of things for gardening and landscaping.  They also have a nice gift shop and the people there are very helpful and nice and friendly.  It is definitely worth taking a look.

The quality of the plants was excellent and the options and selection were great. THey were helpful, very knowledgeable and patient as we were novices. Several years ago, they installed some trees and bushes that did quite well, although be sure to check on what to expect in terms of growth!!

I use Gethsemane severl times a year to purchase th highest quallity flowers, groundcover, shrubs and trees.  They provide excellent advice for all types of issues concerning what plants to buy, how to plant and tend them and how to deal with problems, like the dead English Ivy we had after this very difficult winter.

They are fairly pricey but they are good.  They are very knowledgeable people and they stand behind their product.  I have been to them for years and I would go back there anytime.  They have fixed price for trees if they have to install or something but otherwise it is a free center.  Their quality is good and people come from the neighborhood to buy plants.  I like them because they will tell you if some plants don’t flourish in a certain environment which you might think it might and that kind of knowledge is important.

Expensive but well.  Gethsemane is a full service garden center employing many knowledgeable staff.  Translation: it's not a discount garden center.  That said, our order was collected, assembled, and loaded onto our landscaper's truck on time and professionally.  They also let me return a boxwood that died within the year.

They are very cheerful, professional, and organize the wood neatly. The quality of the wood is good as well.

They sell flowers too and they are extremely knowledgeable about what grows where and how to nurture plants. They are helpful and give good information for people who do container gardening. Another thing that is impressive is that the plants that they sell are very healthy and I've never had a problem of getting them home and finding bugs. I've always felt their prices are reasonable.

They had a pretty good selection of plants. They seemed to have good experience in answering questions.

They weren't busy (we went very early on a Sunday) and so we got decent service. The prices are high. I think they are very high, but the quality is also good. We were able to get the plants delivered and that didn't take long. One of the trees died, and I got credit for it. I haven't redeemed the credit, yet, but I will update the review and let you know how that went. I gave an overall grade of "A", even though the prices are so high. I will use them again.

Every time I come to their store, I am happy. They do an awesome job with plants. I am always so inspired when I see their displays. Plus, their customer service is over the top great.

They have beautiful plants that are clearly well taken care of by their numerous staff. Their staff are very very knowledgeable about the plants and the particular conditions that they will thrive in. They take time to make sure that you're getting exactly what you need for your space. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the plants/flowers and the service you get.

While they didn't plant the shrubs that had been purchased from them, they were extremely helpful in the planning and selection phase. Their plants are guaranteed for a year, so the following spring when a few shrubs didn't make the winter, they replaced them for free. The quality of their plants, from annuals to perennials to shrubs is outstanding. I've been happily using them as my first choice for garden plants for years.

I have blasted these guys before for being snotty, unhelpful, unprofessional, but I have to say, the woman who helped me this time was extremely friendly, helpful, and nice to my kids. I was clueless on the soil and mulch I needed, and she explained it all to me (and the plantings turned out fabulous). This place is still way too crowded and difficult to get around and park in, but this trip there was about 1000% better than my last few times. I think I rated my trip there last Spring as a C or a D, so this was a huge improvement.

Excellent work by the sales people and the delivery guys. The delivery guys were helpful in putting the plants in the holes I had dug beforehand (which the sales person suggested) and in moving the plants to the positions I wanted.

The customer support that my wife and I received during our purchase process was first class. Courteous sales personnel talked to me at length on the phone about the possible choice of trees, that could survive Chicago s harsh winters. I also received a return phone call in which several earlier points were clarified-This was even before I had even made a definite choice to purchase anything. Then when my wife and I went to the garden center on a busy Memorial Day weekend,one of their sales assistants, Carolyn, was willing to take a generous amount of time to listen to our wish list, show us numerous examples of Japanese Red Maples, and confirm by means of the digital photos I bought along that the new tree was an appropriate choice as a replacement for an existing tree. She also insured that all of the required soil amendments were included in the purchase. The personnel who planted the tree did so carefully and throughly. They were punctual and polite.

WE BOUGHT SEVERAL BUSHES THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT THROUGH THE FOLLOWING WINTER. GETHSEMANE REPLACED THE BUSHES FOR FREE, WE PAID ONLY FOR THE INSTALLATION (WHICH WE HAD DONE OURSELVES THE FIRST TIME). THE $1500 PRICE ABOVE IS FOR THE BUSHES. THE INSTALLATION WAS JUST $100, & THEY WERE FAST & CLEANED UP IMMEDIATELY. WE WERE VERY PLEASED.
