GARY'S DRAIN CONTROL

We had two stopped up toilets at 7:00 am in the morning. Repeated plunging proved useless. Was referred to Gary's Drain Control by our condo association's property management office. Called Gary's who agreed to send someone over within the hour. A young fellow named Rusty arrived at 8:30 am and set about performing the work mentioned above. He had both toilets unclogged and all work completed within an hour. We were pleased with both the speed and quality of service provided as well as the price charged. Would definitely call Gary's Drain Control for future plumbing problems.

Gary's Drain showed up within fifteen minutes of the phone estimated time, which is pretty reasonable in the city for a contractor. The job involved shutting off the common water, and the crew worked quickly to allow for it to resume. The time involved was very close to the estimate given up front. I wasn't looking for cut rate price, and this wasn't cheap, but I wanted the quality pipe work, given I have an old vintage unit, and someone who could handle whatever they found. They carried those parts out fine. Only issue was in one part (laundry hookup) it involved cutting open a wall, and I had a bit of a mess beyond what I planned on. Jason's estimate in two ways, either total bid, or hourly plus materials, is a nice way to choose for the services.

They are fair in price, they do great work and they have never tried to up sell me for unnecessary things, they clean up well, are quick to reply and they are a family run operation.

I selected Gary's Drain purely on price since the job was very simple and two previous Angie's List reports were positive - the job was installing a garbage disposal I had purchased. I was given a 1 hour window for the arrival of the plumber (Gary contracts out to others). After the hour passed I called Gary who gave me significant attitude claiming it wasn't his fault because his worker went to the wrong job first. It was then another 45 minutes before the worker arrived. Shortly after the garbage disposal was installed we noticed problems with our dishwater. Turned off by the attitude we were given from Gary we called another plumber/appliance repair company to look into the dishwasher. They found that when the garbage disposal was installed the cap to the hose connecting the dishwasher was not removed. As a result it ended up costing us double and two service calls. Gary might be slightly cheaper but the lack of professionalism and poor workmanship is not worth a $25 savings!

I've used them in the past and they do an excellent job and show up on time. I'd use them again and recommend them to others!

OVERALL, GARY'S DRAIN CONTROL WAS RESPONSIVE TO ALL THREE EMERGENCIES. THEY CAME OUT WITHIN THE HOUR TO ROD OUT LINES. THIS IS A DIRTY JOB AND THEY TRIED THEIR BEST TO KEEP MUCK OUT OF THE KITCHEN/BATH. THEY EXPLAINED WHAT COULD BE DONE TO MINIMIZE THE BACKUP (E.G. NO COFFEE GROUNDS, VEGETABLE PEELS, ETC.) AND ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS. ALSO, BECAUSE THE KITCHEN DRAIN BACKED UP WITHIN TWO MONTHS OF RODDING IT OUT, THEY REDUCED THE PRICE SIGNIFICANTLY -BASICALLY PAYING THE COST OF SENDING MANPOWER OUT.
