Garden is refreshed and looks great. Paula met with me on a prior date to discuss our condo garden needs. She was respectful of my requests and offered her expertise as appropriate. She came for the work date and made sure the project was complete. We have worked with this group before and even though we verbally discussed prices, I do recommend getting the potential costs in writing. The crew worked with great care around the current plants, added the new plants, and completed all the tasks needed professionally. Very satisfied! Definitely recommend!!

When I first spoke to Paula ,the owner , she was very responsive and friendly. She gave me a quote which we agreed on and they came out in May of 2017. Paula came with an older gentleman and 2 workers. The older man was rude to me and spent most of the morning belittling and yelling at the 2 workers. A couple times Paula had to tell him to stop. She had quoted 3 rose bushes and only planted 1 which I later noticed was diseased, and charged me an extra $38 for a diseased rose bush. She also brought a large pot which she charged extra for and I had to plant myself , I specifically asked her if there was any guarantee and she told me yes that she gave a first year guarantee. Several of her plants died and when I called it took her a couple weeks to return my call , then she first tried to say I didn’t water properly and then she told me the landscaping stone caused the problem and she would not replace anything. I ended up replacing everything myself . Beware she will tell you one price then charge more and will do nothing more after the work is done . I would not recommend this company.

I just finished pulling up 60 dandelions. This was the job they were hired to do, and to reseed where these were to be removed. Now I'm wondering if they treated the grub worms or not, because I did not supervise this work. Was I expected on the walk through to point out each and every dandelion they missed? This was a huge waste of money plus she was rude to boot.

They never gave me a written proposal, which in retrospect was a mistake for both of us. There was no negotiation up front. I accepted the price she gave me, even though it was higher than another bid I had gotten. But she seemed to know about plants, and I was looking to establish a relationship with a company that did more than just "blow and go". It turned out that I thought things were included that weren't. I thought trimming the boxwoods was included. It wasn't. Everything I asked about was an additional charge. I understand that she should charge for add ons, but everything felt like nickel and dimming. I asked if they would take a big pot to the alley, a 15 second walk. Paula said she would have to charge me for that. I was looking for a company who would go the extra mile (in this case 1/8 of a block). At the end, we did a walk through and there were a variety of things that she said they would do that they didn't. After I pointed them out, they addressed each one, but there was tension and it was getting uncomfortable. At a certain point I just wanted them to leave. The lawn still has dandelions and other weeds. They charged $250 for that and I didn't feel that I should have to point out every dandelion and other weeds that they missed. I didn't feel that they were professional, and I would not recommend them.

I thought they were landscapers that could help with designing my garden. She gave some suggestions on the project and we settled on a price for the job. The day she came back for the service she acted like she had no idea what I was looking for. I was not satisfied with her work at all. She also ended up charging me additional fees for the service outside of what we agreed on. They did not even do all of the work I had asked and there was no architectural design to the work at all. I called her regarding my complaint and she got very snappy with me. The issue was never resolved.

Met w/ Paula and discussed broad picture of what we wanted to have completed. Paula helped us break it into smaller pieces so we could tackle it by yard location. (We were looking for an overhaul both in our front yard gardens (3 ea), along the side of our house, and in the back yard.
So far, we've completed the clean up of the back yard and side yard and fully completed design and planting in the front 3 gardens. It looks fantastic.

Paula and her team did a great job. We have used them twice to perform semi-annual yard maintenance and they really do a great job. The way their foreman put it and quot;we're going to give your yard a haircutand quot; was spot on. Planning to use them twice yearly for routine yard maintenance and over time some landscaping.

Paula and Bill were great to work with. They listened to both me and my husband (whose views can be very different) and helped us work through a compromise for what we could afford to do at this time. They like to use existing plantings and also want to create a long term plan that will work for our family and lifestyle. Things were a little more pricey than we were expecting, (hence the and quot;Band quot; on price) but we are very satisfied with the outcome. Our yard, which was in desperate need of a makeover, looks lovely. We will be using Garden Keepers again in the spring to expand our plan.

Great experience. Paula gave me an estimate one day and was back the next day with her crew and completed the job in one day. Had excellent suggestions on what could be done in the backyard and in the flower bed in the front of the house. It was a complete transformation. Paula and Bill were so easy to work with and made sure everything was done the way I wanted - continuously asking for my input. I would definitely use them again if I should need any landscaping done around my home. I would also highly recommend them to family and friends.y

See above. The landscaping regrading was fine but would have liked follow through to see if I was interested in more work to be done. I guess my biggest complaint was a lack of a professional bid outlining exactly whats to be done and the cost for each project

I initially met with Paula about the project. She estimated the work would run around $400, which I thought was quite low. When we discussed scheduling on the phone a few days later, she said the removal of some rose bushes would be harder than she realized, so would it be okay if the project came out more like $600 vs. $400. I said that would be fine; I still thought even $600 was reasonable for the work to be accomplished. Well, when the day for the work arrived, the crew discovered a tree stump that had been hidden by some vegetation, and reported that that would also be some extra work (at additional cost). And then when it became clear that dirt would actually have to be removed from the site, the cost of doing that was a new expense that hadn't been factored into the estimate. And lastly, we had a brick walkway previously... Paula and I had initially thought we'd keep that walkway, but as the project progressed, we agreed to get rid of it. The crew then suggested we use some of the brick as a border at the back of the yard--and that they'd have to charge a little more for that work. All told, then, a number of unexpected costs got added to the project, which is unfortunate. In the end the project ran a little over $1k, which is in the neighborhood of what I thought it would probably cost from the beginning. So I can't really say I was disappointed with the final cost, just with the way we arrived at it. I have no complaints at all about the quality of the work or the professionalism of the team. I would recommend Garden Keepers and do plan to use them again in the future.

They worked well with me and wanted to know my opinion. They were very tidy. They also did some things that they didn't even charge for. They would see and just take care of it. I only had positive experiences with them. If I needed somebody, I would call them back.

I was referred to Garden Keepers by a sod farm I'd called. I checked them out here on Angie's List and found that they had a good score, so I called to set up an appointment for an estimate. Getting in touch with Paula was the hardest part about working with the company -- they're so busy it's hard for her to keep on top of phone messages. We played phone tag for almost two weeks, and I'd given up hope of meeting her in person when she finally came to the house and gave us an estimate. The estimate was 50% lower than another estimate I'd gotten, and she seemed very knowledgeable about lawns, so I chose to go with Garden Keepers. Once we signed on as customers, however, getting in touch with her was never a problem again. As she told me, "Once you're in, you're in!" We needed new sod in the backyard (approximately 20'x40'), and I wanted them to carve out beds for flowers and a vegetable garden. The crew arrived at 9am one day -- Bill, Paula's business partner, and two employees who did most of the heavy work. First they weeded and tilled the yard, then leveled the ground. When it came time to install the sod, Bill double- and triple-checked with me to make sure the beds were the size I wanted, which I very much appreciated. They also applied a weed preventer to the beds. They laid the sod and were done by 3pm. Paula also came by on the day of installation to make sure all was going well and to pick up the check. She gave us instructions on watering and mowing, along with a 10-day guarantee on the sod. If anything were to go wrong in that 10-day window, Garden Keepers would come out and make it right. Luckily, nothing went wrong, and we have a gorgeous green backyard. It's absolutely beautiful, and we couldn't be happier.

Paula was great. I really wasn't sure what I wanted done, other than just clean up. She had great recommendations on type of plants, placement, low maintenance. She asked me what kind of plants I liked, what type of look (manicured verses informal), how much time and effort I wished to put into maintenance (very little!). The work was done on time, neatly and as planned. I wanted an unstructured look, with plants that have interest all year round and attract wildlife - she had great suggestions. She was open to my suggestions and we worked together on a plan. I got exactly what I wanted, even though I wasn't sure what I wanted, which is hard to do.
