We cannot thank Fabian and Sons enough! We had an issue with our boiler last week. On Thursday we had our preferred company come out to take a look at it. They charged us $179 and the tech said that it needed some parts as it was beyond his scope to give a quote. We were told that they would have to send a project manager out the next day to take a look. The next morning the project manager came out and said our boiler was done for and he would quote us to replace it. He gave us a quote of $12,500 to replace the unit. I found Fabian and Sons recommendation on the Chicago Bungalow Facebook group, I called around 12:30 on Friday and spoke with Gail who was super nice and helpful, she said she would see if anyone was close. By 1:30 they had someone over at our house taking a look at the unit. We were told we just needed a new pump. They were able to come on Monday with the new pump, service the unit, and fixed a leak by the shut-off valve. We got a quote for a new unit as well and it was half of what the other company quoted us.

Mike, Matt and their team were terrific! Mike is the most knowledgeable HVAC guy that I know. He planned the project thoughtfully from start to finish. The duct work, the furnaces, and condensers, and the ventilation- everything was planned and calculated properly for maximum comfort! His team were all a pleasure to work with, got the job done, and even cleaned up after themselves! (Not something very common on jobsites) Lastly Mike stands behind his work-if you have any problems down the line (on a large job their are always small thing that come up later) you can be sure he will return promptly and take care of them (without asking for extra money!)

Mike and his team were terrific!! For starters Mike is extremely knowledgeable, he is actually an engineer! When it came to our plans (which were drawn up by professional architect) Mike looked them over and offered his advice on tweaking the design. We took Mike's advice back to our architect and he agreed! When it was time to start running the ductwork Mike was on top of his crew-who were all great guys. They knew what they were doing, and were one of the only trades on my job who actually cleaned up after themselves! They were great at working around the other trades on the job (not always easy) and communication was always excellent. At the end of the day Mike (and his son Matt) got this complicated job done and we couldn't be happier with the results! Mike & his crew were professional from start to finish!!

I can't say enough good things about Fabian & Son. My first contact with them was in spring 2019 when we thought we were going to install a ductless system in our upstairs bedrooms. Fabian & Son responded to my email indicating they did not do this sort of work and also called me to make certain I received the email! A few months later, our A/C stopped blowing cold air so I emailed Fabian & Son after business hours. The next morning at 7AM I had an email from them and a technician at our hose not long after. The problem was fixed at a fair price. Last fall (2019) we determined that we could not put a ductless system upstairs, so I called Fabian & Son to come take a look. They spent a couple of hours over two appointments figuring out the best way to get better air flow throughout our house. Their solution has worked amazingly! Previously, our upstairs temp hovered around 80 degrees during the summer, but now it easily stays at whatever temp we set it for (typically 74 or 75). The work was done professionally, on time and at a fair cost.

I love this company. I've used them for a furnace replacement, as well as annual inspections of both a/c and furnace. They are straight shooters, don't replace something that can be repaired, and always charge reasonable prices. This last time, I had them come inspect my Air Conditioner. They cleaned it and found a frayed wire on the actual unit, which they replaced before it caused any issues. I highly recommend Fabian and Sons for any HVAC needs.

Very satisfied with the whole process and the team. Mike was able to get us onto the schedule very quickly to see what the issue was when our AC unit went out as well as for the installation. With the hot weather and our travel plans the quick turnaround was immensely appreciated. Mario and Gustavo were great. They wore masks the whole time, took off their shoes when coming in, and laid down cardboard to make sure the hardwood floors were not damaged. For the unit install, they made sure to lay down wood strips under the AC unit for weight distribution and to avoid damage to the roof. They also included some material to help minimize vibrations and noise. Gail made it easy to schedule and coordinate. Their prices are also extremely reasonable. They're my go-to guys for AC and Furnace needs! Highly recommended.

Michael Fabian and his staff did a phenomenal job replacing 3X (3-ton) Rheem Central Air Units in our Roof. They listened to our requests and concerns and took care of it all. They came in on-time, ready to work, and they finished an hour early. He hires very good technicians who knows how to diagnose and fix. We had 6 companies quote for the work, and Fabian & Sons had the best price and details. We will definitely hire again for our 3-story condo building.

Extremely well, I have been using Fabian for 40 years.Not only did they do very good work they look at other things that may be problematic. For example, Mike found a better and more aesthetically pleasing way to run the pipes from the 3rd floor aircon than my architect. I went with Mike. Also, and more important he discovered a potential carbon monoxide leak in a friend's furnace. I give Mike Fabian's company an A+.

I gave them as much detail as possible on what I tried to do to fix my furnace and he pinpointed what problem had the highest chance of being the culprit. Mike showed the problem with my motor and helped me learn a little more about my furnace. Very, very helpful and scheduling was a breeze. It was like working with a friend. A+ service and I'm very happy I chose them via recommendations from friends in the neighborhood.

From the onset, the tech was unprepared, either because he came that way or was not informed of what was necessary. I called to have two services done. First, I needed service on three furnaces for my multi-unit building (one unit which I live in). Second, I wanted a smart thermostat installed, and specifically informed the person who took my call I would likely need a new wire pulled since my thermostat did not have a "C" or Common wire to prove the necessary power. The tech began, but I soon realized he was going to install the unit without the C wire and instead use the fan to power it. I quickly informed him I specifically did not what that (if I wanted that, I would have done it myself and did not need a professional). He then informed me he could not pull a new wire because he did not have the necessary tools. So, one of the two tasks I requested done could not be completed today, and I would have to make another appointment (and take another day off of work for it). In lieu of this, I simply asked him to put back the old thermostat. But he could not even do that correctly. Upon returning home later that day, I found the unit was far too warm, despite the fact that I had not changed the temperature. I quickly found the culprit: the technician had put the old thermostat, which uses a mercury temperature gauge, on crooked. Any mercury-based thermostat must be level, or it will not operate properly. That evening, I had to pull the thermostat off the wall and re-attach it so it was level. (This meant pulling the wire off and reinstalling it from scratch, a half-hour affair.) Even then, I found the tech had not used the right screws and left one completely unused, and I cannot find where it should go. Not only could Fabian and Sons not do what I asked them to do, they actually left my unit in worse shape than when they arrived at it. The only reason this is not a complete failing grade is that the tech did appear to properly service the furnaces. But, considering the ineptitude regarding the thermostat, I cannot even be sure of that. Overall, they sent an unprepared tech (either because he was unprepared or they did not give him the necessary information to be prepared) who left my building in poorer shape than it was in when he arrived. I cannot recommend such slap-dash, haphazard work; quite the opposite. You pay people to do things so you do not have to or because you can't, not for them to muck it up so you must clean up the mess.

Fabian always does an excellent job although they are not the cheapest their work is fairly priced and meets the need of whatever heating or cooling problem occurs. A recent job was running duct-work from a basement unit to an updated disability accessible bathroom. The job was professionally done and cleverly concealed.

I called Sunday AM to report that my A/C was not working anymore. Both the Furnace and the Fan on the Condensor was running, but we were getting no cold air. Mike called back later that morning and let me know that he would get someone over in the afternoon ASAP. The Tech was here right around 3 and was able to diagnose and repair the defective capacitor quickly. By about 3:30 pm, cold air was flowing again, and the household was thrilled. We use Fabian and Son as a Condo Association for bi-annual seasonal tune-ups, and I would recommend this family-run company to anyone who needs honest, professional, and hard-working people.

Everything went great. We had an appointment at 9:15am and Mario and another technician(sorry did not get his name) who was training arrived on time. Before replacing the humidifier, Mario discovered that the water valve for the unit was rusted shut. No problem as he was able to replace the valve and continue with replacing the humidifier as well as other components involved with the process. Everything went well and the new humidifier works great. We were also able to use the angies' list coupon which I appreciate. Mario and the other technician were professional, helpful and cleaned up after all the work. I trust Fabian & Sons' work and they're always good to work with whether it's MIke himself, the technicians, accounting, or any of the employees. Will call them again in the future for our furnace/ac needs.

A technician came in, took the furnace apart, reassembled it and the noise was gone. I am not sure if he lubricated anything or what exactly he found, but he fixed it at no charge.

Mike came out and after doing a diagnostic he knew exactly where the problem was and what was the solution. Some coil was all gunked up so he removed, cleaned it out and once again I have HEAT. Prices are always reasonable and work professional.

We needed our furnace cleaned and checked as it had been about 4 years since the last time it had been done. After reading all the positive reviews for Fabian and Son, we called them. Appointment was made for the following week and Mario came out on time and called ahead of time as we requested. After checking our furnace he recommended we change out the capacitor which had limited life left and he showed us how he determined that with this tool/gauge he had with him. He cleaned, checked, replaced the thermocouple and capacitor and all went great. No pushy sales tactics or anything. We also received a 5% discount that was offered on their Angie's List page. Very honest, friendly and helpful. Experience was great from the first phone call through the service call. I definitely recommend them and will use them again.

In a few minutes, Mike found the blower motor failed, he had a replacement on the truck, installed it. Then he checked my work on the thermostat, waited to hear furnace cycle off and then on again. All good.

The tech did extra work but didn't charge more as it was within the hour or service call price. Although they had to come back for some parts replacement which I paid extra. Very responsive and prompt in getting the work done. I like to use local businesses and thought I picked the right one.
