The F.Gomez team was great. Very professional, courteous and friendly. And most important the yard looks great. Price was very reasonable too. Only nit is that it took a while to schedule--but this is also the busy season so it is undertandable.... and when they had a cancellation they fit me in early! Would def hire again--thanks!!

In my opinion, this is how to do business! My wife and I were in the market for a new patio, so we took to Yelp to get an idea of who was out there and also had good reviews. This is how we came across this company. We sent an inquiry email and received a very prompt response. Emily was out at our house in a couple of days and in that first meeting we had a good gut feeling. We had some other places over to give quotes, but they didn't give that feeling. Emily didn't give me a drawn out salesperson speech, she listened to what we wanted and gave us a very reasonable quote on our new patio. We made the decision to go with F Gomez and we are very happy that we did! Emily and the crew arrived on time on the day of the installation and we went over all the final logistics. The crew was very friendly, skilled, and efficient. Honestly, the product that we got far exceeded what we expected! We are going to be having this company install sod to complete the backyard and will most likely have them do our front yard as well. If you're in the market for a patio and want it done the right way, without being harassed with a drawn out sales pitch, go with F Gomez! I'll update the pic when the sod is installed. Overall, we are extremely happy with their work.

I had high hopes for Kris and her crew this year. They did a pretty good job for me last year when they put in a patio walkway and planted some shrubs among a few other things. So I had hired F Gomez again to do spring cleaning, apply some compost and replace a couple shrubs that crapped out on me last year. Pretty simple I thought and generally her crew did a decent job, but they missed cleaning an entire side of my house. My house is tiny so not sure how that was missed. My biggest complaint is about communication. It should not take countless emails and texts to confirm a scope of work and timeline. Plus I get that with landscaping (and any outdoor work) you're completely at the whims of mother nature. But I don't think that means that it should take over a month to get a job done. Also, showing up to my property without giving me any notice was very odd. I think they could get higher marks on customer service if they just improved their communication and kept their word about services performed.

Kris Robinson, the head landscaper, was polite and accommodating. She was well informed when she came by to provide an estimate and offered helpful suggestions for the work we wanted completed. Communications could have been better and her team forgot to lay compost in our garden, but once I notified Kris about this issue, they came by the next day to apply the compost.

We were interested in formalizing our outdoor living space behind our 2 flat after some flooding in June 2014.  We got several estimates but F. Gomez was the lowest and able to guarantee a start time before the end of August 2014.  In 3 days we had our lawn grated and 3 inches of soil removed, in two days they had laid the patio, grill area and installed steppers.  On day 4 they installed sod so fast I was surprised.  We were instructed not to walk on the sod and to continually water which we did.  By end of August we had the perfect back yard and were the envy of many of our neighbors.  Kris the designed was easy to work with and accessible even if we didn't know exactly what we wanted but know our price limits.  The crew was professional and timely and worked like lightening.  I would definitely recommend them for normal folks in Chicago who are ready to make their backyards a second home for the summer and want a quick pleasant experience.

They were great.  Showed up on time as scheduled for the work.  I thought they were great at showing pictures of what plants/bushes they proposed.  We love sitting in the back yard now.  The flowers, bushes and plants flower or change color at different times of the year so it looked great all summer and fall.

I searched through a lot of Chicago landscaping companies before settling on Federico and I am very glad I did. There are many landscapers in Chicago that will give you the run around, but Federico is straight and to the point. He'll give you a very competitive price and will work you in as soon as he and his crew is available which is the best that any landscaping company in Chicago can offer. His team was courteous, worked very hard, and delivered beautiful work on everything I asked. I am proud to say that I Federico completed my yard and look forward to enjoying many years of cook outs and bonfires back there.
You would be making a mistake if you didn't consider his company.
