Instead of replacing our old boiler with a similarly sized single boiler, Eismueller came up with the idea of a two boiler installation, side by side, one serving the under-floor system and the other serving the rest of the house. Even though the cost was a bit more than a single, larger boiler, we chose this approach and we are very happy with the results. We now have two zoned heating systems in the house. In spring and fall, we can opt to heat only the floors we use the most, or dial one zone up or down, a distinct advantage over what we had before. In addition, the under-floor system now operates beautifully with its dedicated boiler, much better than it ever did before. Finally, our energy bills have been cut dramatically - about one-third the amount of natural gas as before the switch. We expected some operational savings, but got more than we expected, with greater comfort. Eismueller was great - the work was done exactly as advertised, on time, and with minimal disruption, during a cold week in December. I now take visitors to the basement, to show off our new boilers - really. I have never been this happy with a major home repair.
