Unfortunately, E&K Cleaning Services as a company lacks professionalism and communication. We moved to a new house in May 2013 and wanted to continue our bi-weekly service. ----- I want to take a moment to go on a tangent and mention that I am very careful to always communicate via email rather than phone. From working in an office environment I have learned to save every single email as "proof," should the situation ever arise where such documentation is needed----- Continuing on, our new house is the same size as the old apartment, if not smaller. It used to take 1 maid 4 hours to clean our old apartment (it was vintage with a lot of wood work, so it naturally took longer due to the detailing), however, it was only taking 1 maid 3 hours to clean our new modern house.
Even though it was now taking one hour less to clean the house, E&K Cleaning Services raised our rate to $80. If anyone can please explain to me the logic behind INCREASING the rate from $70 to $80 while the amount of time DECREASED from 4 hours to 3 hours, I would be enlightened.
When I addressed this issue with E&K Cleaning Services they stated that their rates increased for 2013. Ok, fine. I can understand the need to increase costs due to overhead, etc. BUT, they raised the rate in MAY only after we moved to the new house, and with no written notification or verbal notification. I also would't mind paying the increased rate of $80 if it actually took the maid 4 hours to clean.
I simply cannot come to terms with spending money when I am receiving less. This combined with the lack of responsiveness and general poor communication from the administrative/management staff at E&K Cleaning Services was enough for me to cancel my service.
(In addition, a woman a work with who initially referred me to E&K Cleaning Services also recently canceled her service due to a similar issue.)
just came from the niteclub + spent 3 hours giggling to each other.
fixtures not dusted, floors cleaned with a dry t shirt without moving
things out of the way, light fixtures untouched, toilets untouched, they
dont clean windows, sink dirty, top of refriigerator untouched, nothing
done to tile shower, bookcases not dusted on and on and on and
on..............looked like it did before they came minus $120
called after they left + boss came back with both of them again for a shorter
version of the same half a** job. pointed out none of the floors were
washed.............hands and knees bucket soap + water..........
have a tile floor in downstairs bath that had 3 pieces to be moved around in
order to clean entire floor. none of the 3 pieces were moved the
first time.
trip 2 i pointed out the floor wasnt cleaned and same thing.............all 3 pieces not moved but floor supposedly cleaned
when pointed out to boss she said.......i clean i clean and with the dirty
damp wash rag she had in her had she got down on her knees and wiped the
floor AROUND all 3 pieces lol.............comical............i said
please stop ill do it myself with a bucket of soap and water
what a completely awful job + experience
unless you are looking for 2 dolls that looked like they are coming or going to the nite club stay completely away
these people are awful
they dont dust, wash windowns, clean floors, etc etc............other than that they are great
"We have never done any service for this person. We have never provided a service at that address. Angie’s List claims that they provide reviews “that you can trust”. It seems that anyone can write anything without any verification."
Update: I stand on my original review - when I called them after I let their cleaners go (after they announced to me the time was up and they would not be staying any longer) they told me someone would call back but never did. Yes, when I pay someone to do a job I expect them to do what they say and they didn't so if this is "giving someone a hard time" they shouldn't be in this business.
"The E&K Cleaning Service staff would like to apologize for any inconvenience. While there are any issues going on during the cleaning service, the customer can either give the supervisor on the job site a call or call our office directly and we would be able to assist the customer if there are any problems. We are not sure where the customer came up of the idea that we have a flat rate of $100.00 for a move out cleaning. It is specifically stated on our website that we have an hourly rate of $25.00/hr with a minimum requirement of 4/hrs of service (one maid). We only offer flat rates for regular recurring customers; weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. We should mention what really happened when the cleaning was coming to a completion; after the cleaning, we did want to re-clean things that were not brought to the customers satisfaction, but it was an extremely hard time being able to talk with the customer and as well the customer refused to have the cleaners stay for any necessary things that still needed to be done."
