EB Masonry, Concrete & Deck Specialists

The whole process was a very good experience with them. My wife and I were looking for one company who would understand our full outdoor vision that included concrete, new doors, and deck. Our plan is divided in phases and needed different quotes. GETTING AN ESTIMATE: They were the first to respond to my quote request. Mike, who administrates much of the project, was very responsive, patient, and attentive to needs. Eddie, who is the boss, came to measure. I noticed he was very attentive to details, patient to understanding our vision, took out his measuring tape and actually took his time to measure. Others simply came, saw the space and left. Eddie was very professional and knowledgable. He immediately understood our vision. Mike offered me a quote and Mike made sure to follow up with me constantly to make sure to answer any of my questions. Other companies took too long to return an estimate. WORK/SERVICE: Eddie came with his team very early and very ready to work. It is seldom to see a company so much committed and hard working as this one. I appreciated how they had teams for different type of jobs. Their workers were knowledgable specialists in the work they were assigned to do while they also seemed to be mentoring new young teammates as well. The stamina of the team was always the same every day for four days. They were very respectful of the space, property, and my family. I appreciated that of them as well. Because of their dedication, I made sure they had breakfast various mornings. Eddie was very attentive to my feedback and to many details. He would come early morning to get my feedback and direct his team if in case I had any changes or additions to the project. JOB COMPLETION: Their work they left was of very good quality. They were detailed with their work. For example, they smoothed out small edges of their concrete work for people not to trip, and added coloring to the original concrete to match to the new concrete. They painted the small portion of new wall around the new door with the same color of the rest of the room. CLEAN UP: I have to say that their clean up work was as much good quality as everything else. I was very impressed on how they made sure they left my outdoor space a lot more cleaner than how it was before they came. MY RECOMMENDATION: I have to say that I personally will be using their services again to finish our outdoor visioning plans. I appreciated their attentiveness, detailed work and am thankful for them being welcoming to my sudden changes of project plans. They are and will be our company moving forward. I highly recommend them for your projects as well.

We had an excellent experience with Eddie and his crew. Eddie was very responsive to all of our questions and ideas during the construction process, and very easy to work with. The measuring and installation of the customized decking, railing, stairs, bead board was precise. His crew constructed four stone columns for the front porch that are perfect. His painters did a great job staining the new lattice and pergola . His crew were real craftsman; very friendly, hard working, and kept the construction area very clean. The work was completed on-time, and the add-ons were very fairly priced. Every part of the experience exceeded our expectations

The demolition and reconstruction was great! They called to ask my preference on a number of details, due the age of my existing porch and the current codes. They were aware that I had dogs and made sure gates were closed. The work took a couple of months due to the city of Chicago permitting. The price was right, the construction is to city code, and they worked with my pets (read..family ?) I am very happy with the results. I would be happy to work with them again!

Great experience. Communication was prompt, clear and professional. The quote provided a fair price and detail of the work to be done. Scheduling was flexible and accommodated time that I was overseas immediately after getting the quote. The mason that did the work was polite, worked quickly and cleaned up after he was done. The quality of the final product was high and exactly what I expected. Great value and no snags to complete the work I needed to have done! I will definitely go back to E&B for any future masonry needs.

Our 6-unit brick condo was having some leaking during heavy rains. E&B provided a timely & reasonable quote, answered all of our questions, and completed the work on time and on budget. Very professional and will use again for any masonry needs, including an annual inspection of our building.

Quote was excellent and fairly arrived at. While work was being performed, the team showed up early every day and worked until sundown. Used quality materials and did a great job. But the kicker is — after I had fully paid for the job and a couple of issues came up after (one spindle warped, and noticed that a post was tilted slightly) they came out within 48 hours or less each time to address the issue, no questions asked, no fuss, no asking for extra cash. I found that remarkable and greatly appreciate that Mike and Eddie stand by their work. Have recommended them to others and will continue to do so.

Excellent from the first phone call to the completion of the work. Everyone arrived on time, and was very professional and helpful. Did our repairs in the timeline we needed to coordinate with other construction, which was very important for us.

Highly recommend E&B - these guys are true pros! We used them recently to install a new concrete staircase and walkway in the front of our condo building, which were originally made out of brick pavers. Everything about the process, from receiving a quote to finishing the job, was seamless. They are very responsive and do great work. Prices were comparable to other quotes we obtained, but their explanation of the process, knowledge of the work that needed to be done, and detail within the written quote is why we selected them. Glad we did, because they worked very hard to complete the job, and even helped us remedy a few minor imperfections. The responsiveness and communication of the team was awesome. Cannot say enough good about this company - wish all contractors were so easy to work with!

The team was punctual, and very tidy as they worked. The steps were done within the estimated time and look great. Management was cordial and flexible to work around my schedule. Would recommend and would consider for future work.

E&B was extremely responsive. They were quick to come out and provide an estimate, clearly explained each step of the project, and scheduled the work quickly. They did an excellent job resurfacing our front porch and steps - both look brand new. We would absolutely use this company again, and have already referred them to friends/family for other jobs.

Eddie and Michael were both very responsive to our having sought several bids using different materials for the job. Based on their willingness to work with us, we were more than happy tp hire them. The workers with E&B Masonry were very professional and completed the job as specified. The new composite deck looks fantastic! The area was also thoroughly cleaned up after the completion of the work. I recommend these guys without reservation.

They arrived around 9:00 on Thursday and worked on the roof repairing the parapet and then all day Friday with the lintel and front of the building and did additional work with out charging extra for it. Cleaned up well and did a great job.

The work done by E & B MASONRY was begun when promised and completed quickly. They did a beautiful job beyond my expectations! They team was great. They were professional and friendly, ensuring I was kept abreast of what was going on and that I was completely happy when the project was completed. Also important, I was pleased with the pricing. I'm on the board of a co-op consisting of three buildings on the property. E & B evaluated the three buildings and suggested spot tuck pointing as the buildings were in fairly decent shape, needing only fixes here and there among the three. They were prompt to show at every stage of the process; evaluation, work, and walk through. They were also very responsive to phone calls, email, and texts. We will keep their contact information in our files and they will be our "go to" company when work is needed in the future.

E&B Masonry did a great job tuckpointing our garage. The workmen were knowledgeable and worked well together. The price was reasonable. Overall, I am very pleased with the work they did and would hire them again.

Everything went smoothly from the day that Eddie came out for the estimate to the follow up and scheduling the start date. The team showed up as promised and did a fantastic job with cleaning up. They took extra care to keep the dust to a minimum as it concerned the neighbor's property and even covered her open windows which were left open. I

They were very professional from the beginning to the end which set them apart from other contractors. They offered their work at a reasonable and fair price. They answered all of my detailed questions thoroughly and within at most, a day. They finished a month early and worked many days from 8:30am until 7pm! The city inspector said everything was built to code and dropped our violation charges. I highly recommend this company if you are planning to rebuild or repair your porch or concrete/Masonry work.

Responsive, prompt and professional. Michael and Eddie have been great and always on time with everything I asked them to do. They demolished and rebuilt the front facade and did a total tuck pointing of a small commercial building I own in Logan Square. Their work is fast and good quality. They always worked happily and like nothing was a problem or a challenge, even when I had three change orders, my fault, not theirs. They're very easy to work with and I recommend them without hesitation.

Mike and Eddie were timely and professional from start to finish. The work was done on-time and for the price we were quoted. They did not 'oversell' for repairs that were not needed.

The work was very well done. Eddie came to give estimate, and I was hoping he would do job. Two others did job, but they did good work, so it was fine. We needed to add step, which they did. Since they were masons, I originally thought they could just cut the hole and finish the brick, but actually they were good carpenters and finished the doorway very well. I felt having to put up more than half the money before any work was done is not the best policy. I feel the risk should be 50/50, but since they had good reviews and the work was well done, it worked out okay. I had to put a thousand down upon signing contract and one thousand day work started and eight hundred upon completion. There was a slight confusion about the type of door I needed to buy, but that was worked out before the work was done.

The crew worked hard and got the projects done in good time. They were easy to work with and stayed in close contact. The inspector signed off on the projects.

These guys are really hard workers! It doesn't get any better than this. We could not believe how they would show up promptly every single morning at 8am and sometimes work until the evening to get the job done. If the city of Chicago hired them to fix the streets as fast as they re-did our walkway and patio, the streets wouldn't be torn up for months on end. Eddie Castillo is the owner and started the company in 2007. He's a really good guy. Our neighbors were envious of the framing job this team did on the walkway. Eddie and crew also do restoration work and masonry as well as concrete.

It was probably a small job, compared to what I've read from other reviews, but I was treated with respect, professionalism and care for the quality of work performed. Mike clearly communicated the scope and costs of the project. Eddie and Manny's team were punctual and efficient. The repair work was completed well within the expected time and the completed work met my expectations. Everyone involved ensured that my questions were answered to my satisfaction. For me, it was the little things that indicated they were treating this small job with the same attention that a much larger project might receive. An example is related to logistics of our roof. Instead of choosing the quick approach, which someone might consider reasonable, but in the long term had potential to damage our roof, Manny chose an alternate approach. It added some time to his work, but guaranteed no damage to my roof. After reading some other reviews of what people experienced from other contractors, this little detail impressed me. Besides that, he was was thorough in explaining our options before, as well as the completed work after. Additionally, I needed this work done in the "off season" and had trouble even securing quotes from some contractors. Mike was willing to work with me and thankfully we found some time when the weather cooperated.

Great. They did even more than I contracted for.
