I have a number of complaints against Com Ed and how they handle customers and billing. My smart meter broke and didn't work for a period of about 3-4 weeks. 1. The one repairman was very rude and told me that it was my fault the meter broke and that I was in non-compliance. They failed to gain immediate access to it and I had to assist them with removing part of my deck. 2. The main complaint is there completely unethical resolution and billing process. During the time my meter was broke, there was no reading. Instead of using my time period of last year as a baseline to estimate the charges during the period, they decided to use a day with my highest usage as the baseline and extrapolate that day 30 days forward. My usage in K/Hour was 632 in 2017, and they are billing me >1300. Over a 100% increase year over year. Furthermore, they have also decided to not use the day(s) of usage when my meter was fixed. This usage showed the same lever as 2017. During the time the meter was broke, I had my whole house insulated, including attic and doors. This should have further reduced my bill. However, again, instead of using a date closest to the time period in which they are billing, or the previous year's period of usage, they have used a February 12 daily usage reading which is 2-3 times higher than what my current usage is. They are also using a date when it was colder to estimate a time period when the temperature was higher. It's so very unethical. I don't blame the whole company or want to write a negative review, but the resolution process is a black hole because they don't allow you to speak to someone directly that can address the facts and concerns. They just say they will review and get back to me. Unethical as the facts don't align with their view and there is no escalation process with any transparity.

We pay a small amount every month. Any time we have an electrical issue, we call them up and they come out to fix the electrical issues we have. There are certain things that they will come out and fix. They fixed the outlets at no charge. They came out without a charge as well. I have no complaints.

When you call them they say it will be several hours until they turn it back on.  Why don't they notify us ahead of time?
