We just purchased a new home that had a lot of pinch-pleated drapes throughout. The previous owner had a dog in the past, as was evidenced by the hair along the walls of the carpet, as well as visibly seen in some of the sheers. I called 3 other companies (from Angie's List) for price quotes, and they were all around the same. I expected to be able to get some better pricing given the volume of our drapery, but it seemed more difficult to get that over the phone. All the other companies priced by the number of pleats. On the other hand, Coit was the one that came to your house to give you an estimate, and apparently doesn't charge per pleat (it looks like they kind of eyeball it, so maybe it comes out to the same, I don't know). Coming to our house probably worked out best for them in that: 1) they were already here to assess the volume of business we could provide, 2) it's much more convenient to the customer to have them take the drapes right on the spot, and 3) it was easier to bargain a discount face-to-face. Joel was very courteous and always called before coming. He was very friendly and laid back, and very willing to work out an agreeable price given our volume of drapery. Most of the drapes were fairly clean, except a couple sheers that had some ugly looking stains on them. Joel was confident the stains would come out easily, which they did. Our family room drapes had some tearing at the bottom of the fabric casing, which they repaired at no additional cost. (I hadn't even noticed the tearing before then, even though it was some pretty noticeable shredding when I stopped to look). He didn't expect me to have him take our drapes right then, nor did he pressure me to make a decision on the spot. But seeing as he was already there, we negotiated a price, I verified with my husband over the phone, then had him take them all away! That was on a Saturday; the drapes were returned to us on Wednesday, and Joel hung them all back up. They looked great! The stains on the sheers were gone, dog hair was removed, the drapes that weren't hung properly were now hung correctly, and they repaired the tear on the family room drapes. I was very pleased and would hire them again. It was nice to know that the drapes throughout the house were clean, and our three young kids can play freely without my worrying about them touching the drapes. It's possible that another company could have offered us a better price had they come to the house, but Coit was the one that came, negotiated a favorable price to us, so we gave the business to them. I would use them again.
