Claudio Heating & Cooling, Inc. is an experienced Heating Ventilation and Air conditioning company dedicated to providing the best possible solution for you, your family, and business. At Claudio we specialize in designing, and installing complete comfort cooling and heating systems for home owners and commercial buildings. Claudio Heating and Cooling was founded in 1982 by Ray Claudio near the southwest side of Chicago. Since its conception the company has concentrated on servicing the Chicagoland area and most suburbs. With over twenty-seven years of experience Claudio heating and Cooling has grown to be an invaluable resource in providing residential communities with reliable and affordable HVAC services. Claudio's is a moderately sized NATE and E.P.A. certified company. We are also insured and bonded. We take pride in our work, and the ability to manage our projects therefore we rarely use subcontractors. For Angie's List members we are happy to offer a 10% discount on service calls.

First time, Claudio's came out, they replaced the fan. I noticed that the air didn't cool but the technician assured me it would take a minute or two to get started. A week later I had to call them back out as it wasn't cooling. $600 for parts and labor. Second time, they replaced the condensor fan, this was another $600, now the air was cool but not very effective. Finally I called another company out to check the work, another $100 to replace the capacitor which they should have done with the new fan anyway. All in all I feel as though this team is not very good at checking their work and doing a thorough repair, and the cost is significantly more compared to other companies.

New tenants forgot to set up their account with the gas company, and after they got their service reconnected, I couldn't get the pilot light back on.  I thought it would be a simple fix as it had been working up to that point.  I purchased an Angie's list deal for another HVAC company, but they refused to honor it stating that the pilot light had to be on (which was not explicit on the deal, nor does it make sense for a diagnostic call--I exchanged it).  Claudio's assured me they would honor an Angie's list deal and scheduled me for the first available appointment.  All the the service companies I called were booked with emergency repairs since it was the start of the cold season and it seemed everyone was realizing their heat wasn't working.   Miguel in the office was extremely personable on the phone and promised to get me in if they had any cancellations. 
The furnace is an older model and in addition to a new flame sensor it needed a new motor.  After the initial repair, my tenants complained it was making a loud grinding noise.  Claudio's returned the next day to evaluate the problem and replaced a melted gasket.  Within a few hours, the noise returned and I had to call Claudio's to come back a third time.  The new motor was faulty and had melted another gasket.  Moses, the repairman remarked that neither he nor a local parts supplier had ever seen a gasket melted so badly.  With a 2nd new motor in, my tenants say the heating is working normally now.
Without question, they only charged me what they initially quoted me despite of the multiple visits & melted gaskets.  More than prompt, Moses the repairman was early to every appointment.  He explained all the work he performed and walked me through how the parts should be working.  He contacted both me and my tenant ahead of time to let us know when to expect him.  
The office phone seems to forward to an alternative phone when no one is in the office, so 2x a guy in the field answered the phone.  That's how I learned that Miguel's wife had a new baby and he was taking time off. 
I certainly would have preferred a less expensive fix completed in one visit, but I got a good feeling from the guys there and would be willing to use their services again.

I met with Ray Claudio for an estimate, he offered me some options, I selected a system that met my needs.  The workers arrived with the materials to perform the work on a date that was mutually agreed upon.  I was called in the morning to remind me of their approximate arrival time.   All work was completed in 2 days including cleanup.  The workers were polite and hard working.   All garbage was cleaned up and hauled away.   I initially only ordered the replacement of one Heating and AC system, but when I saw the quality of workmanship, I decided to have both of my systems replaced and added the Hot Water Heater replacement as well.

I was having an issue with a blower fan not blowing heat into my home.  Claudio heating and air came out and immediately diagnosed the problem.  They had to special order a part to fix the malfunctioning fan.  They ultimately fixed the fan, but after looking at my invoice and comparing prices elsewhere for the piece, I realized that they are massively marking up prices for items that they order.

He did an excellent job and was very reponsive. There were a few delays, but they were expected with this type of work. Overall he did an excellent job. There was a leak the we discovered after the job was done, which he addressed completely.

Ray Claudio is very honest, responsive, and professional. I would hire him again. Four Seasons came for the annual spring A/C service and claimed that the freon levels were fine but that my lineset was frosting due to a dirty coil (without checking the coil) and proposes a $520 coil cleaning. Rey came out and determined that the freon was low and that the coil, after his own inspection, was fine. $100 later everything was fixed. I don't think it's in Ray's DNA to lie or try to take advantage of a customer's ignorance of the intricacies of HVAC systems. I have been working with Ray on a proposal to replace the central air and heating at my small business. It's a fairly big project. I have had several consultation with Rey, and he has always been very forthright about his work and recommendations, unlike many of the "salesy" reps from bigger contractors. One rep tried to sell his system on the claim that I could claim an energy tax credit for the system, which Ray pointed out as incorrect (it only applies to residential installations).

MY EXPERIENCE WAS VERY AVERAGE. THEY WEREN'T BAD, BUT THEY WEREN'T THAT GOOD EITHER. I HAD SMALL PROBLEMS ALL THE WAY ALONG. THEY DIDN'T REALLY TEST THE SYSTEMS THEY INSTALLED VERY WELL. I HAD SOME AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSATION LEAKS. THE RADIATORS WEREN'T RE-INSTALLED PROPERLY. THEY WEREN'T VERY THOROUGH AND RUSHED THROUGH THEIR WORK. THEY ALSO PUSHED FOR PAYMENT BEFORE THEY COMPLETED THEIR WORK. THEY HAVE BEEN RESPONSIVE TO PROBLEMS AS THEY HAVE COME UP, BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF THEY HAD DONE THE WORK PROPERLY THE FIRST TIME. THEY WERE NOT DISHONEST AND THEY MEANT WELL, THE WORK WAS JUST SLOPPY.
