"To correct some of the statements above, I have been with the company since 1997 and took the company over 4 years ago, not recently. We completed the deck in the beginning of April along with 14 other decks that week that we did not have problems with because of the weather. The decks do dry a little slower being that it is a little cooler out but this does not effect the final product. This deck did stay a little tacky after the sealing due to the fact that we have sealed her deck so many times and the sealer does not soak in as well. This issue does go away shortly after the sealing and is common in multi repeat customers. The deck had 2 perfectly outlined black spots on the bench that did not come out with the power washing. This was not caused by us as we have nothing that we carry in our vans or at our shop that can cause this. We came back several times to try to fix this for her at no cost. We walked all over the deck without leaving foot prints or causing any issues with our final product and this was after already being on the deck a couple of times. Landscapers where at the job site working when we left and a day later we were informed that there were footprints on the deck. Landscapers than tried to fix the footprints themselves and made the issue much worse. We agreed again to come out to try to fix what the landscaper ruined but asked that we were reimbursed the cost of doing this. We then agreed to fix it at half the cost, this was to try to keep our customer happy. The customer then had half the deck replace as a contractor told her some of the wood is rotting. The wood was replace and we were going to schedule finishing the new wood and explained that the new wood would not match up to the much older wood as new wood is much brighter. The contractor said he can match the old and new wood and the customer went with the contractor to complete the job. We did the job correctly and spent many hours trying to fix issues not caused by us and the customer still wanted to only pay 50% of our contract which we would not agree too. The entire time the customer was thanking us for working with her on this and did not get upset until we would not discount her job when we did nothing wrong. We stand behind our work and did not ask for a dollar until the job was completed. We were very professional and polite to the customer the entire time and her deck looked great expect for the black spots on the bench as explained above."
"Yes, he is correct that he never got a quote. His first contact with our company was in the beginning of April. At that point we were at least 3 weeks backed up on doing quotes. We were doing about 100 quotes a week and they kept coming in. We tried in mid-April to get out for the measurements and our estimator was over scheduled that day and did not make it. We finally tried to let him know that we were planning to be in his area twice after that without any response. We also had two emails out to him after the delay in getting to him and he never responded. It was our fault that we did not make it that day as we were overtaxing our estimator and pushing to get as many quotes out as possible. We did make a good effort in reaching back out to him with no responses. We are sorry that things did not work out for the customer and wish him and any other customer that choses to work with another company."
They were comfortably price, very responsive in scheduling. The job was done quickly. Workers were very professional, straight forward.
"He is correct on that we normally do not do the undersides. We send a attachment with our quotes explaining everything that we do and do not do. If you let us know you want the undersides done we can definitely do that work. Most decks do not have undersides done because they are very time consuming and expensive. Only reason to have them done is for cosmetic reasons. Thank you for your review and we will work on making this more clear to our customers. Enjoy your deck and hope to talk with you again in few years. Regards, Chicagoland Decks."
