They are reliable, dependable, work extremely hard, and do a top notch job. These guys are the real deal.
Very good work. Very responsible, showed up on time and was quite reasonable.
Normally these are completed in a week.
Call before you go there as they are not always open during their stated hours.
They state that they are willing to pick up or do on site too, but we have always brought everything there.
Overall, I thought Darelle did a good job until my professional painter showed up to apply stain to the trim. He noticed that there was still stripping chemical in nooks of the wood, and said the stain won't take to those nooks of the wood. So, now my painter has to go back and prep the wood properly. The old stain was in pretty rough shape, but if all this company does is strip wood down to the natural wood, then it should be done right.
Now, Darelle did meet me when the job was finished to see how I liked it. To an untrained eye, I thought he did a good job. But, obviously, I am not a professional or tradesman.
First of all, I was so impressed by Darryl five years ago that I kept his number in my cell phone until I had the money for him to do this job! Darryl's prices are really great, and he has over 25 years of experience... he's also a super nice guy. This is the kind of person I want working in my home-- friendly, responsible, punctual, trustworthy guy. I was impressed by him five years ago, and now that he is actually doing the work...well, I am even more impressed!
As I mentioned above, this job is a big one, as 80 years of paint have piled up, and under that is a heavy sealant.
My neighbor tried to do this job himself, and it took him a week to do one tiny area. He gave up after that week, and I decided to learn from his experience- ie, there was no way I was going to do the work myself! (And I usually do! But wood stripping is in its own category of difficulty..) So I finally called Darryl, and I am so happy I decided to go ahead with this plan. The wood is beautiful. My kitchen--which had been kind of dull- now has a warmth and dimension to it that I hadn't really imagined...and the wood hasn't even been refinished yet! The windows had gotten so clogged up with paint and cracks that I thought there was no hope for them. But now, without the paint, the beautiful birch which is, amazingly, in near-perfect condition and the overall effect of the bare wood is much greater and cooler than I had imagined it would be.
I'm just pleased as punch...and I highly recommend Darryl-- and getting your woodwork stripped-- to anyone who's thinking about taking this step!!
He takes the trim out of my house and brings it, dips it and fixes it. This is a cheaper way of refinishing it rather than stripping it on site. He is very easy to work. He was quick on the response. It was easy to schedule. He came out, picked the stuff up and he brought it back. There was no trouble at all. I would use this company in the future.
